This charming restaurant located on Biltmore Estate was originally an historic barn designed by Richard Morris Hunt. Now transformed into a courtyard restaurant with walls of windows, Deerpark Restaurant serves a generous array of Southern style dishes and Appalachian specialties. Our Taste of the South Weekend brunches offers bountiful choices. It's an excellent setting for family dining, with children nine and younger dining for free. Paid Estate admission is required.
"My husband and I were visiting Asheville for a short weekend getaway and went to tour the Biltmore Estate. We dined at the Deerpark for Sunday Brunch and what a nice treat it was. The food was wonderful and the atmosphere even better. We were seated overlooking the courtyard and the doors were open offering a nice view and a little breeze. There was a guitarist playing in the dining room providing a nice musical accompaniment to our meal. We had our choice of waffles and an omelet bar as well as roast turkey and prime rib. Also a great salad and fresh fruit selections. The desserts were decadent. I had a little bit of everything and it was all Great. I definitely recommend this restaurant and brunch for anyone visiting the Biltmore."

"A great place for extended family holiday dinning. Choices for everyone. Could have more for vegetarians. There were several choices which would have worked for vegetarians had bacon or ham not been added. Service was excellent. Setting is lovely"

"I love visiting the Biltmore Estate and wanted to try the Deerpark Restaurant to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant certainly conveyed the tradition of the Vanderbelt's hospitality. I loved the ambiance of restaurant. I walked in thinking I had made the perfect choice. Has I approached our table, I noticed the live music. That, too, added to the ambiance, and I was please. However, I thought the food was fair. I'm not sure I would go again because I did not enjoy the food as much as I would have liked. For that reason, I probably would not return but I was glad I did get to experience it one time."

"Deerpark Restaurant, part of the Biltmore Estate, is a great place to dine. The special occasion brunches are fabulous. There is large room entirely filled with food on these occasions. There are areas for vegetables and casseroles, meats, breakfast foods, salads, breads, and desserts. All of the food is good and the wait staff is very helpful and cheerful. There is a lovely courtyard in the center of the building and glass panels that open onto it when the weather is warm enough. I've been going here for years for lunches and brunches and it never fails to please."

"We did the Sunday brunch at the restaurant which we had done one year ago during another Biltmore stay. It was a bit disappointing in comparison, although to be fair it was storming heavily and the Asheville area was undergoing some flooding and road closures. The server was pleasant and the wait time for beverages and drinks was not overly long. We had a 1 pm reservation and it did seem that some things were low and not being replenished very quickly. One issue was that the ladies room only had one stall that was "in service" so we did mention this to the server. The atmosphere and decor just seemed a bit tired and the buffet items could use a bit of revitalizing as well."

"The prime rib was exceptional. I didn't try the other meats, but they looked delicious. The rest of the food was so so. I was not impressed with the deserts. Of course it was expensive. I had thought the website said the buffet was $30.00 per person, but it was $40.00. Perhaps I miss read, The ambiance was really nice. All in all my Mother said she enjoyed it and so did I. I would do it again for a special occasion, but would prefer to order off the menu. This was my first time at Deerpark."

"The Deerpark Restaurant is a dining facility at the Biltmore Estate. It is open for lunch on Saturday and Brunch on Sunday and is available only to holders of an Estate admission ticket or pass. The Deerpark is an outstanding buffet in a breathtaking setting. Our most recent visit was on Mother's Day, a very busy time at the Biltmore Estate. Getting onto the Estate on a busy holiday is a slow process. It took us about fifteen minutes to get past two bottlenecks. However, once past the gate, we found that the Estate is set up to handle very large crowds. There was plenty of parking at the Deerpark, and we were seated within a few minutes. Reservations are required, at least on a busy day. All of the food is excellent."

"The staff at Deerpark were wonderful and courteous. They held our reservation when we were running late, and though I wouldn't classify it as a family restaurant, they were wonderful to my four children, even bringing us extra blueberries for my 1 yr old and helping my daughters at the buffet. Food was delicious and eclectic; fun to try new combinations, but still enough comfort food to please my children who ate mac&cheese by the plateful."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our luncheon buffet and especially the chocolate-covered strawberries brought to us when wait staff learned we were celebrating our 23rd anniversary. The guitarist was also a special treat, took our request and looked up words so he could play for us "our song"!! Luncheon buffet awesome especially the roast beef sandwich (our favorite), baked salmon and pork loin were also delicious. Very memorable, relaxing date to reflect on our marriage! Will come again soon."

"For how lovely the actual restaurant is, you'd think that the food would be better. Sadly, Deerpark's food at the weekend buffet (while already acknowledging the shortcomings often found in buffet-style restaurants) was very underwhelming. The food was underseasoned, not served at the appropriate temperature, and generally just not very good. Deerpark is a beautiful restaurant, and the staff are very kind and accommodating, but it is not a restaurant I would recommend if you're looking for a great meal."

"We travel 3 hours one way to enjoy the bruch at The Deerpark on Biltmore Estate. This is something we do three or four times a year. The food, service and atmospher are always wonderful and we have never been disapointed. If you enjoy history and good food, give Biltmore a try. The brunch is generally only on Sunday and is seasonal, but there are several wonderful places to eat at Biltmore, check out their web page."

"I was truly impressed with the selection of food on the buffet. It wasn't like any buffet that I have been to in that my eyes didn't fill up my stomach before I was able to eat. I was able to have a small sample of all the items on the buffet. For me the fresh vegetables were the best and my sisters enjoyed the deviled eggs with lobster. And the desserts were awesome especial the tarts and chocolate cake. The atmosphere was great and kid friendly. It was open, inviting ane private at the same time. Our waitress Loretta made the experience a memorable one. She was very pleasant and asked if we needed anything and if we were enjoying our meals."

"Ambience was great. Food was really of southern flare as advertised. Selections were somewhat limited. Paying $30 for a brunch meal, one would expect to have more selections and diversity with the food. Service was not that great. Our server was always no where to be found. Comment: We celebrated my daughter's birthday there as a treat, a simple special prepared dessert, like what other restaurants do, would have been better than a plate with 6 pcs of small chocolate balls that does not even taste good. Long story short, I expected more from this restaurant. It did not deliver the food and service worth the price."

"We have been going to Deer Park for many years. We are somewhat less than enchanted with this country kitchen table atmosphere. We very much preferred the buffet brunch presented in past years, which we think provided much more for the price charged."

"The food was excellent. We had a great waitress, which is rare these days. There was a foreign waitress that stood amongst the tables and pretty much ruined the brunch by having a personal conversation with another waitress for a great length of time (she was maybe Mexican, and 30s-40s, and short). She was the only negative that day. Enjoyed the view, the live music, and the brunch. The food was better than the other restaurants at Biltmore. Would definitely recommend, and already have. Thanks!"

"The greeter was friendly and warming. The location, between the glsss walls, gave us a view of the courtyard, but it was rather hot which made our stay uncomfortably hot. I watch a bug walk up, down and across the inside window. Thr food was not prepaired fast enough to meet the demand. Several times i had to return to my seat with a half empty plate. I ordered a $12.00 bloody mary. Why did I have to mix it myself? I dont know how to make them, so it was a waste of money. My overall experience was average, which I thought it should have been better. Next time I vist I will not return to Deerpark."

"We were there for the Easter buffet. While the offerings were varied and the food was good, the selections during Christmas days were far more tasty and much more appealing. We were very disappointed in the meats this time which definitely were not "up to par." The collards were excellent as were the shrimp and deviled crab eggs.
Overall experience--I've enjoyed better at Deerpark Restaurant!"

"The only thing I would change is keep the food warmer. Most of the food, except the omelet were just warm-lukewarm. There were six of us, and we all agreed about the temperature of the food. I would also turn up the heat on cooler days, as sitting next to the windows was cool. Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience."

"My sister and friend and I looked forward to our "girl time" on Sunday all week. Brunch at Deerpark is well, so civilized! Makes you feel special! If you want to treat yourself to a divine day, consider Brunch at Deerpark. The food was presented so beautifully with something for everyone. And it was really good. This is a different kind of buffet as the intimacy of the space, coupled with the windows everywhere, made you feel like you were in a garden and invited great conversation. Easy to get to all the food stations too. All the servers, chefs, had SMILES and that goes MILES for me. The coffee never got cold thanks to our lovely server."
