bar One, located in the Grant Park neighborhood, is the new bar and lounge by restaurateur Peter Thomas. bar One adds a new offering for city dwellers and suburbanites who wish to experience a laid-back lounge setting. The new bar/lounge will surely be the go-to spot for those seeking refuge from the mundane. Once once you enter the doors of bar One and take a seat you will certainly feel right at home.
Driven by the fusion of music, eclectic Caribbean inspired tapas, and spirits, bar One will without a doubt quell the curiosity of its presence in the in Grant Park neighborhood by introducing to Grant Park something that it has not yet seen but certainly needs to round out the social scene. bar One is for everyone whose lifestyle is not driven by the trend but by the desire to experience true pleasure in their social excursions

"This place is super cute! It's relaxed and intimate, but still has energy and refinement. A big plus for me was the free valet parking. I had the fish fingers, which were delicious! A minor disappointment was the fact that I got there at 8:30 on a Saturday evening (prime dinner time) and they were out of rice and peas. We were a party of 6. Service was somewhat slow, but our servers were very friendly. I would definitely go back."

"Service overall poor, bartender very nice friendly and good attitude. Too many hostess standing around the front desk and not very helpful and/or friendly. Valet Parking is the best feature and plus, location not good for folks coming from Cobb County."

"Being new to the Atlanta area, thought I would check out barOne to see for myself. Like I've heard the location is quite odd but, from the time I valet to the time I left I really enjoyed my experience.

"This was my second time visiting this establishment. The first time was great hence my second trip but this time it was a disaster. Not only did we have to wait for about 30 minutes to be seated we waited another 30 minutes before we can get a server, another 5 -10 minutes for water and we only got 1 Carafe for 7 people. Being served dinner almost 3 hours after arriving is unacceptable.
Our server took the order of a group that came after us before she took ours. Our food came long after that group was done eating. When our server came she announced that they were out of some of their staple foods; how can you be out of your staple foods 4 hours after opening for service?
We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday, very bad decision!"

"My best friend and I traveled from Alabama for a girls' weekend getaway..This bar was great!! Especially for the grown and sexy ;-)...Our waitress was excellent,and Peter was a total gentleman!! We are considering coming back THIS SATURDAY!! Thanx so much guys....Sexy after 40...."

"Awesome lounge area, great music, a fun place to get drinks and a bite to eat. The design inside is smart--Memorial Avenue isn't the swankest area in Atlanta, but the gauze curtains hide the more prosaic elements while letting in the street and car lights--cool. We ordered the drink special and it took a while for the first one to arrive but after that, they kept the drinks rolling! Owner Peter Thomas stopped by our table to check in on us and compliment my husband's pants, which was fun--he's a pretty sharp dresser himself. ;-) My one suggestion for improvement is in the food. We loved the idea of Caribbean tapas but were sad that they were our of some things like the curry early on a Saturday night. Even so, we'll probably be back!"

"My reserved experience started with my party waiting, with no attention, for about 5 minutes. After flagging down the valet he grabbed the hostess/server and she decided to seat us in the side, unused part of the restaurant where the workers we're eating and watching television. We were seated just to discover the cushions were wet from the rain.The food, although good, took more than 30 minutes to come out and or server rarely checked on us. I wanted the experience to be better than it was."
