"If you are a fan of small plate eating and sharing them this is a place for you. I'm sure the main courses are good but we didn't try any. We had many hot and cold mezes, all which were good (except for the chicken livers which had this odd slightly sweet taste to them, but that could have simply been a Lebanese dish that I didn't care for). We had wine to go with the mezes and left happy and full. The service was attentive too."

"We ate at Almayass nearly a year ago and again on May 5, 2013. The food was fantastic both times and is on par with my favorite Lebanese restaurants in the Middle East, including the Almayass location in Kuwait City. We knew exactly what we wanted and dove into the menu. The mezzes came very quickly, but there was a 30-minute lull after our mezze plates were cleared and the grilled entrees arrived. We had two bottles of red wine, and both were too warm and needed ice baths to be drinkable. The music was all strange; it bizarre mix of pulsing Gypsy Kings, Arabic, and late 80s/early 90s hairband songs. What gives? How about some grainy-recordings of Fayrouz? With these missteps corrected, I'd give this a much higher rating."

"Strong flavors, small portions (except for the humus sampler, which is tasty but overwhelmingly potent). The Mantee Traditional appetizer is worth trying the place out, but don't expect an amazing meal. Service is hit or miss, but the owner is very welcoming and attentive."

"Some of the food we ate was quite delicious but a number of the dishes being "pushed" by the waiter were disappointing. The mashed eggplant (similar to babaganouj) was one of the best I have ever had and their signature houmous was also quite good. Both would have benefited from warm pita. I would dine here again, ignore the waiter's advice, get the items I liked and try a few new ones."

"Decor is pleasant. We were seated right away. With a full dining room didn't have talk over noise from other tables. Hostess took us to a table, then turned us all around & walked us (think conga line) to a table in the back corner. Starters had good variety, entrees lacked variety and were primarily beef cooked different ways. Food was flavorful, prepared & presented well. Wine list was a little pricy, but found a modest merlot that turned out to be a winner. Service was marginal. Bartenders were inexperienced. Server provided good menu suggestions, however, his tableside manner was at times sarcastic and unprofessional. All agreed we would go back, but wouldn't rush back."

"Took some relatives here that were in to visit from out of town. One of them is a Vegan - so it can be a challenge to find "foodie" restaurants that work for the group. Was very impressed with the restaurant - the decor, the ambiance, and the food and wine were all superb. I would have given five stars - but the waiter was a little pushy, and kept recommending meat - even though the table had mentioned we were mostly vegetarian. He did a nice job of highlighting the menu and picked out a nice Lebanese wine for the table. We loved the eggplant dip, the spicy walnut dip, Haloumi cheese and Fatoush salad were amazing (probably misspelled; sorry)."

"Outstanding! Everything was perfect. The restaurant is beautiful, spotless clean and modern. The wait staff was super-helpful. But the star of the evening was the food. We were expecting standard rice and kibbe and instead were treated to a very inventive super-flavorful meal. The prices are reasonable and the small plates give you the opportunity to try a myriad of things. We'll definitely go back!"

"It was alright I expected a lot given the high reviews Of this place. The food was just ok and the service was disappointing. Our waiter was rude. It seemed like we were bothering him when we asked questions. He even rolled his eyes on us when we asked what he recommended for dessert. Not cool and definitely not professional."

"The food was wonderful and unique. Our server was very friendly and extremely helpful in navigating the menu. Also, his recommendations were right on point. I was there with a group for my friend's birthday and we weren't rushed at all, which in New York is sort of rare. I would go back in a second. It was a wonderful experience."

"This relatively new, spacious restaurant has Middle Eastern flair with delicious, delicately flavored and unusual dishes. It is an interesting and unique addition to the Flatiron neighborhood. There is a bar/lounge on one side, and a restaurant on the other side of a dividing wall, with two entrances. I haven't experienced the bar, but the food in the restaurant already invited me back for a second time and the service was welcoming and attentive."
