Alberto has been a neighborhood institution for over 35 years.
Owners, Silvana & Roberto Chiappelloni, originally from Piacenza, Italy, have always believed that good food should not be outrageously expensive and that good wines are meant to be enjoyed. Alberto's menu offers spirited versions of home-cooked dishes from the Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy and Ligurian provinces.
Alberto's offers a welcoming and friendly atmosphere from the moment you walk through the door. The bar area is resplendent with an antique mahogany bar, fireplace and large open mahogany doors. Frosted glass and wrought iron chandeliers hang overhead. The souring oak-beamed ceiling is artfully enclosed by exposed brick walls, skylight and colorful artist-signed prints which provide warmth and a delightful sense of coziness.
While many NYC eateries have a reputation for highbrow dining, there remains a warm and familial culinary treasure in Forest Hills, Queens.
Come and join us at Alberto. Buon Appetito
"Food was great, restaurant is nice, had a little wait for main course due to slow cooking of the Osso Bucca (waiter recommendation) which was worth the wait. Had a skunk beer (over a year old) but was exchanged with no problem. Others with me loved everything about Alberto's. would highly recommend."

"Although there is no parking, the street parking usually is not difficult. My family and I enjoy going here regularly. Silvana the owner is absolutely wonderful. She is hands on and very helpful with what dinner to order and what wine to pair it with. The specials on a daily basis are always delicious and expansive. The service is wonderful. Every server helps eachother out and it makes for a very enjoyable dining experience. I reccomend this place to everyone I know. It is surely a gem in Queens. I keep going back! They even make me penne alla Vodka although it is not on the menu and it is delicious! The Zabaglione dessert is absolutely delightful. I love this place!!!!!"

"We have been going to Alberto's for over 20 years. It is the best. Food is always great. The "Tortelli Alberto" is my favorite dish. Silvana is a wonderful host and works hard to make sure you are happy."

"One of the best meals ever. There were four of us. We got the beet salad, fried calimari, and crab cakes....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Dinner was special pasta, filet mignon, branzino and Alberto's tortolini...again mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Strawberries w/sabayon, and pastries were amazing. Not cheap but worth every penny!"

"I found dining at Alberto to be overall a good experience. First, I foundthat the service was very good, and that multiple people are waiting on you from start to finish. I did find it took a bit long to get the check once things got busier towards the end of the night. Despite this, the owners/managers actively circulating the dining room and engaging people in conversation was a sign that hospitality is a priority.
The highlight of the place was the food. I ordered a lasagna, and although the price was above average, it was made with fresh pasta, and was delicious. The food is fresh and well prepared overall. Alberto sets itself apart from the other multiple Italian options in Forest Hills, and most are second-rate in comparison"
