PORKCHOP crafts a nostalgic experience for a knowledgeable audience that can truly appreciate the goods. The backbone of this new venture is simple: take the iconic ‘neighborhood bar’ and everyday items and repurposingthem into a unique dining experience. By catering to the industry that supports Chicago’s restaurant scene,
PORKCHOP creates a safe haven for chefs and diners alike to kick back; fill their bellies, their glasses and have a good time… every time.
"The food at Porkchop was one of the best meals I've ever had. I had the pulled pork sandwich. Flavorful and succulent.
The server we had seemed preoccupied and we had to wait a really long time for one of our party's meals, while we all had ours. Service might have lacked because it was their 2-year anniversary party as well but it didn't seem crazy-busy.
Also, there are some menu items that appear online but aren't on the printed menu. I don't think many people head to Porkchop for an apple and beat salad or the fish tacos, but they were my pesca-vegetarian husband's saving grace, but they weren't on the menu.
Even with the challenges I'd go back in a heartbeat."

"From the $2 PBR special to the saws hanging as decoration, this place should be hipster heaven. Pity that the food was just meh. Great beer list and a fun ambiance weren't matched by the BBQ, which was nothing to write home about. The pulled pork sandwich struck me as too bread-y but otherwise unremarkable. My suggestion is to wait for Lilly Q's to rebuild after the fire instead."

"Our food was cold and below average. The fried chicken was beyond greasy. The fried pickles were cut really think and the batter was not cooked all the way thru. The potatoes with the chicken were cold and not appetizing to look at or eat."

"We went to pork chop with a big group. Everyone was very pleased with the food. The service was a little slow, though our server was very nice. We would definitely go again."

"We made Mother's Day reservations for 13, 7 of which were children. They provided a large table in a perfect spot. The kids could walk around and not disturb other diners. We love the food and there is enough on the menu that does not necessitate ordering the usual kid fare...chicken strips or burgers. They loved the Mac & Cheese. We spent almost 3 hours and enjoyed it all! I love the pork chop, pulled pork, and fried chicken. My son ordered the catfish and enjoyed that as well. Wings great for appetizer!"

"Had last minute out of towners on a Saturday night and this was one of the only restaurants in our neighborhood with availability on Open Table. The experience was a bit bizarre. The food was fine, but it all came at once. Literally, all of the appetizers were placed on the table, the back waiter left for a quick dash back to the kitchen and returned with all of our entrees. No one had had even a moment to consider trying an app. There wasn't room for all the plates on the table and the back waiter stood by as everyone frantically moved and cluttered plates together. It was an unpleasant experience, we were embarrassed in front of our guests and I would never go back."

"Good service, waitress was pretty attentive, explained the menu well & gave us good recommendations. Food came out fairly quickly. Large portions, decently priced, especially for the West Loop. Brisket portion was huge, more fries would have been nice, but it was a good amount -I just love fries! Also got the Chicken & Waffles & it was 2 large pieces of chicken breast on a large waffle & seasoned maple syrup Chicken was a little too well done, the skin was very crispy but the chicken was a tad try. Overall great experience. We went with a youswoop certificate but the prices were moderate enough for us to go again without a certificate. Beers were pretty cheap as well - $5-8 for draft, cheap for the WL!"

"Awesome food and service!!! I truly enjoyed coming here I loved the way the dining area is set up and the wood tables are super cool! My party was only a group of three but we each enjoyed our food! I had the elotes and fried pickles to start and they were both amazing and uniquely tasty! I then had the chicken and waffle one word YUM! my two quest each ordered a different flavor of the ribs and swapped half for half both were fall of the bone awesome and the BBQ sauce is simply wonderful! At the end of our dining experience we ordered dessert we got an order of doughnuts and an order of peach cobbler both were so sweet and wonderful it was the best way I could've ended my dining experience at Porkchop. I will be back!!!"

"Pork was okay. The service was really good. The server have us her recommendation, checked on us frequently and was extremely friendly. After reading the reviews I decided to try the ribs and my girlfriend had the fried chicken. The chicken was fresh, juicy and crunchy however it could have seasoned better. The ribs were okay as well. I would return again at some point, however porkchop is not ranked as one of my favorites."

"Such a great place for a big group of us to gather together and share a meal. Our server was knowledgeable and took the time to make genuine recommendations for our dinner. Fried chicken, fried ribs, and mac n cheese were favorites at our table."

"Blandest ribs in Chicago. All the flavor is in the sauce, not the meat. The two sauces are only ok, and they insist on serving one of them on the side. You have to get your meat sauced, which shouldn't be required at a good BBQ place. Our server brought my beer, after we waited 15 minutes to give our drinks orders, then returned with my date's beer 10 minutes later. If you want good BBQ, go to Pork Shoppe, Fat Willy's, or, the best, Uncle John's."

"I was fairly disappointed with the experience based on how good the reviews were. The service was awful, we had to get our server's attention for everything. The food wasn't very good. There were three of us and no one was happy, muchless impressed with our meals. After the meal we ordered dessert and more drinks, they were out of one of the desserts and one of the beers."

"Tried fried chicken for the first time! Pretty delish but I would have preffered all breast meat. Funny thing was, ordering chicken and waffles is $2 cheaper and you get 2 breast pieces My only bad comment is the washrooms were very messy and hadn't been attended to. Very off putting ."

"Nothing worse than dried out overcooked bbq ribs. Service was slow, and server couldn't make any recommendations. "Everything is good here" is not helpful, nor truthful. Standards to quality here are not consistent, and Randolph Street deserves better."

"The food here was excellent. They serve their pork chops a little closer to "medium" instead of well done, which was unexpected. The food was delicious, but when it comes to something that you expect to cooked a certain way, they should prepare you ahead of time. I was disappointed that this was not mentioned prior to ordering.
The BBQ platter was delicious. The country fried pork chop was the item that was under done. The sausage lollipops were amazing. And portions are big. My date & I could have split the BBQ platter and not ordered the pork chop.
The waitress was very new and didn't know the menu very well. She was sweet and polite, but when we had questions she couldn't answer them. She also was not well versed on their bar offer"

"We decided to return here with some friends to try out the food. A week prior we stopped in here for after dinner drinks and were impressed with all their scotch and whiskey options. The food was excellent here! Some of the best barbecue I've had in a very long time! They are able to infuse a really smoky flavor into their bbq that is often hard to find. We had a variety of things off the menu and all were excellent. Being from he south I'm a bit of a fried chicken snob and I have to say, this was some of the best I've ever had! The scotch flights are fun and this is somewhere you could easily have dinner and stick around for some drinks. Great music! Totally laid back environment where everyone is going to feel comfortable."

"Pork Chop is a great location to hit before a Bulls or Blackhawks game. The fried chicken was perfect. Crispy and juicy. The sliced brisket was tender and flavorful. The gunbo was jusy o.k., not thick enough, The only negative was service was somewhat slow considering we told the waitress we were in a hurry to catch the Blackhawks game. We will definitely try it again."

"Service was not good. Drinks were never brought, menu items were not described correctly. Most disappointing were the chillaquiles. The menu described them as coming on tortillas but instead they came on actual tortilla chips, so they were in fact nachos. Very disappointing."

"We loved the food but the service was unbelievably slow for a Tuesday night at 5:30. It took our server at least 15 min to make 4 drinks! There were only 2 or 3 other tables of 2 and the bar had about 6 patrons seated. what happens on a busier night? We loved that the Restaurant Week special was still available days after it officially ended. Definetly a return visit is planned. Hopefully the service issue was a fluke."

"This was my first visit to Porkchop. I was a little hesistant in going because I don't eat pork or red meat. I decided to give it a try for Restaurant Week and was DELIGHTED by my experience! Everything was wonderful! From the cocktails (I had a bourbon, mint, cherry concoction that was heaven), the food (I see multiple visits in my future for the chicken wings alone) and the service (I forot my server's name - shame - but she was fantastic!) The restaurant itself is small, but that's one of the things I really like about it. This place is definitely worth a try! Chicken and waffles are to die for!"

"No matter for restaurant week or any other week Pork Chop has to be added to your list. Quality and quantity of food, menu selection and service can't be beat. Down home southern cooking. The bar is stocked with name brand bourbons, whiskeys and ryes for that special drink. You have to try this restaurant. This was our first time but we will be back"
