"It's been some time since we've dined at Sotto Sotto. However, on our return we were pleased to find it packed with diners who all seemed to be enjoying each other and their dining experience. We had papardelle with duck ragu and the halibut...both prepared to perfection and delicious! After a bottle of wine with dinner, we had no room for dessert, but watched as the neighboring tables appeared to enjoyed theirs. We'll definitely not wait so long before coming back again."

"The food was excellent as always. My 14-year-old son originally turned up his nose at the pasta options as too "fussy" but ended up loving the Tortelli di MIchelangelo and the "priest strangler" pasta with ragu."

"The food is great, very tasty. Everything on the menu is unique. Only wish the tables weren't so close to one another. I went with my boyfriend for a special night out. Our table for two got sandwiched in between two tables of four. Would have liked a bit more privacy.

"Service was excellent. I've had pasta, and veal which were excellent. My friend had the big steak. It was seasoned well but still a little tough. I recall most of the desserts having some kind of rum or liquor, I wanted dessert but didn't think the choices went well with my wine. Recommend adding a few simple items to the list."

"We order the 'first course" option of three pastas - Michelangelo, Duck Ragu and Mushroom. The pastas were the tastier, flavorful and good quality I've had a restaurant. We also had the veal chop which was well flavored and tender. Would highly recommend the restaurant as a very good Italian option in Atlanta."

"Everything was great. The naked ravioli, mushroom risotto, halibut, and beet salad were excellent. Not to forget, the chocolate soup was bursting with nutty and sweet flavors that satisfy the tastebuds. The service was exceptional, they were very patient and took care of us."

"The location and ambiance are the main selling points here I think. Definately not the food, The wait staff were all very uptight and had no sense of humor whatsoever. The food was all something I can achieve at my home. The food at our local Provino's(rome, ga) tops this place ten fold. Maybe I was expecting too much as I went in hoping to be reminded of my trip to NYCs Little Italy. I appreciate the experience as I do every time I go th ATL for dinner, but I definately wont be back to this one. If I could offer the owner or chef any advice, it would be, Lighten up a little and focus more on the flavors and not on trying to impress the customers with snoody, uptight wait staff."

"My wife, daughter and I ate at Sotto Sotto on a Friday evening. It was the daughter's pick. We were able to get a good time through Open Table on Friday morning.
We like to share several appetizers and entrees to taste as many things as possible. Everything was wonderfully prepared. We had an unusual savory strawberry risotto. It was very creative, unusual and tasty. It is the sort thing we go out to eat to try. We had some cured meat and cheese antipasta and a bottle of wine, Orvieto Classico from Umbria, to get warmed up. By the time Mista salads arrived, we were in full swing. We had two entrees for three, Tonno e Fagioli which is seared tuna and Salmone Arrosto which is salmon. Not too much butter on the fish. Just right."

"The food was amazing. I think the aged balsamic risotto is one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. However, the service was lacking. Our server seemed annoyed with us from the beginning, it took 1/2 hr for her to take our order, she was annoyed when we didn't order dessert, she literally rolled her eyes when we had to stand up and hand her our credit cards (they were on the table with the check for 20 minutes) and she wrote herself in a 20% tip. It definitely left a bad impression. But again, the food was amazing. Still happy we went. We were visiting from out of town and couldn't wait to go to Sotto Sotto because we had been there before and remembered it fondly."

"Sotto Sotto is wonderful: the food is consistently terrific, the wine list is spectacular and the service is great. It is one of my favorite restaurants and I go there whenever I have a chance. They have converted the back patio into a very quiet, inviting and romantic outdoor dining space. That's a great addition to the restaurant and I love it!"

"The food and service at Sotto Sotto were excellent. We had the Risotto Mantecato, Halibut, and the Lasagnette alla Bolognese - all were simply done and delicious. Our server was knowledgeable without being pretentious, and attentive without hovering. My husband, niece, and I have been to a number of highly regarded restaurants in Atlanta in recent months. We all agreed we would readily come back to Sotto Sotto. A particularly nice surprise was the ambience. While the restaurant was close to full on the night we visited, the three of us could easily talk without yelling. And parking was easy in the valet lot across the street, though street parking seemed available."

"This is one of the best meals I have had anywhere (Italian or otherwise). The waiter was very very knowledgeable and made helpful suggestions regarding what to order and how to order (e.g., that half portions are available so you can sample more dishes). "Out waiter was quiet, distant, and gave the impression that he had somewhere else to be. I asked the waiter to recommend a wine for my chosen entree, and he said to order what I would normally enjoy -- seriously? How does an Italian restaurant with $30 entrees not have recommended wine/food parings? While the food was quite good, it was definitely not worth the price. For this price,the food, wine list, service, and ambiance should all be top notch. The tables were packed in so tightly that the couple sitting next to us had to slide their table for me to leave my seat, and I am only 5'11 170 pounds."

"The pasta is of course delicious. All the wonderful taste you can expect from fresh made pastas and sauces. The wine list is overwhelming. You really have to be a connoisseur to know how to order from their list which is only broken down by region. All inquiries we made with our waitress were met with snarky comments and a horrible attitude. I don't need snooty service served along side my noodles, just bread! (Which we had to ask for twice)"

"Sotto Sotto is simply the best. The food is so good it is incomparable. And prices are so reasonable. We had mushroom tag and wood roasted chicken with Caesar salad, Just so perfect preparation and taste. While there are other excellent Italian restaurants in town, Sotto Sotto is just a step above in food and ambiance. We have had most of the entrees and apps at one time or another and never had anything that did not make us just rave. Panna cotta and mascarpone for dessert still have us drooling for more."

We orderd Caesar Salad, Spaghetti del Pescatore, Risotto ai Fungh, Bistecca di Manzo(Ribeye) that were perfect combinations for us. Specially the Ribeye's baking condition was perfect that was crunchy outside and juicy inside. I think many of steak restaurants should larn how to make it from Sotto Sotto. Also we orderd panna cotta was excellent. I believe they have great selections with dessert too. Oh I forgot to tell you they have great selection of italian wine list too. I think their menue seems very simple but there are selective food and wine lists."

"Food was excellent, but our waiter (Jeff) was terrific! He was great to recommend things and even brought us a sample of their parmesan cheese to illustrate the freshness of the cheese in the risotto. We went with his recommendations and were not disappointed.
Interesting decor -- walls looked like concrete with stain/paint. Looked like there was a nice outside dining area as well.
Tables were a little too close for my comfort, but fortunately we were there early (before 6pm) and not all the tables were filled."
