"My wife and daughter took me to the River Crab for Father's Day brunch. The drive was a hike from Detroit's westside but we enjoyed the trip up I-94 east. The service was outstanding beginning with complimentary valet service to the hosts and wait staff. The buffet was nice but the real gem is the lake front view. We look forward to out next dinning experience at the River Crab."

"Nice place overlooking the river. Noise was excessive, you could not have a conversation. I had plank salmon which was very good but did not include much else. My wife had chicken over pasta, this was also very good but the pasta was cooked to much making it starchy. The women went to the wash room and both said that the floor was sticky. The waitresses where almost running all the time, they did a very good job. They offered freshly ground pepper but if you wanted more pepper the shakers seemed to have sealed holes. Nothing came out! We think there are better choices for a special night but are glad that we gave this place a try."

"We visited River Crab on a Friday night in June for a Father's Day/Anniversary dinner, and really enjoyed our meal! I tried the summer sangria made with Moscato, grapes and cucumbers and it was very refreshing without being too sweet. Hubby and I shared "East meets West" appetizer with tuna and avocado--very delish! Hubby had Diver scallops and I had cold water Lobster tail. Both dinners were excellent with portion size just right. Chad, our server, was polite and energetic, he really seemed to like his job. Very nice evening!"

"We areived on time but had tobe tol 3 separate times to wait until it was over an hour past our reaervation time and we were seated at a table that we did not ask for. Our waitress too a long time greetin us and did not have the wine we asked for. The food was moderately good, the calamari appetizer is the best thing on the menu, but our entrees left something to be desired. All in all not a great experience but the view is gorgeous."

"The food was wonderful, very tasty, done to perfection. Love the "on the river" setting, staff is very accommodating with requests for seating. Our waiter was a "professional". Having a drink in the bar before dinner, the two bartenders were also professional, but fun! We live out of town but will definitely be back."

"Recently enjoyed romantic anniversary dinner at the River Crab. My beautiful wife and I have been raving about it ever since. The food was simply delectable. My wife had her dream combo of blackened salmon, crab cake, and coconut shrimp. I ordered the shrimp and scampi. The steak medallions simply melted in my mouth, perfection!!! The chocolate cake dessert with vanilla bean Ice cream, hot fudge and Heath bar crumbles is a MUST! I also had the pleasure of a wonderful wedge salad and a spicy cucumber martini, and our dinner was almost perfect. The only drawback was the young waiter forgot our shrimp cocktail, and its a bit pricy. Overall best meal I have enjoyed in years and very romantic riverside view. Thank you river crab, see to soon"

"Have been going to the River Crab for the better part of 2 decades. Had a really mediocre experience recently, and made note of it with the Gen Mgr, Martha who asked for another opportunity. "My husband & I used to dine here all the time., It's been a few years since we been there, but I decided I really wanted to go there to celebrate mother's day. I was excited to see that my old favorite was still on the menu, which I ordered & it was just as delicious as I remembered. It was the Cajun Chicken Tortellini, for those who are wondering. I also had the scallop w/crab appetizer, very yummy as well. This was the first time my kids came with us and they really enjoyed their visit too, they thought the freighter going by was cool. We also had my brother & mom join us, and they loved it as well."

"A great resturant and has been since the time of Chuck Muer and his Fish Dynasty. Waitstaff trained in the old way...ie look out for the customer. Just a great overall experience. "I ordered a special that included three types of fish. One of the three fish servings was served at an enjoyable temperature; the other two were cool as was the vegetables and rice. I did not mention it to the wait staff because he seemed to "cool off" towards our party as well when he realized that we did not want to add on the appetizer, wine, club program, etc.
Reservations were very easy to make. The valets, greeter, and hostess were all very friendly. Our request for a table near a window was fulfilled. But all of that does not make up for the meal and wait staff. We had not been to the River Crab in years. We do not expect to visit there again."

"This was my first time dining at River Crab and it will not be my last. THe food was wonderful, tastfully presented, very delicious. The server was friendly and attentive, he made you feel like your choice was on his top 10 list. We had a great view, one row in from the window.
One suggestion. I placed my reservation through your website. I didn't realize you had a special from 3 to 6 pm. When selecting the time on the site, a pop up window to annouce any specials would be beneficial. We would have taken advantage of the special if we had known. Our reservation was for 6:30. I asked the server if this would still be available as we didn't know about this until we saw the menu, but it was not."

"The food was decent but nearly as good as it has been in the past and certainly not @ $26 for a meal that doesn't include a salad or soup w/ your entree. I had the Maryland Crabcakes and there was hardly any sauce (the best part) and the asparagus (2 pieces) were huge and soggy, - not the small, crisp type you would expect for a high priced meal. I brought a friend and she had the encrusted shrimp which were overcooked. I am not sure if it was an off night, but there weren't many patrons... which would be more excusable if the restaurant were busy. It was her first visit (my recommendation) and unfortunately not the impression I had hoped to give her."

"it felt that the waiter was a little aggressive; he seemed focused on getting out his spiel, rather than on picking up cues from his customer. Like we weren't interested in desert, and said so, but he continued to describe the desert specials anyway. We felt rushed to order before we had a chance to read the menu or even formulate questions we might have. For a higher priced restaurant, I would expect a more sensitive waiter. We came to eat out in a romantic setting, not to hear a pitch for menu items."

"WE HAVE NOT HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE OUTDOOR DINING OR BRUNCH YET, BUT PLAN TO IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS OUR ALL TIME FAVORITE AND WE WILL CONTINUE TO VISIT AND RECOMMEND TO ANY AND ALL. WAIT STAFF ARE TOP CLASS, THERE IS A WONDERFUL VARIETY OF MEALS AND APPETIZERS TO CHOOSE FROM WHICH ARE ALL PREPARED TO PERFECTION. WE JUST LOVE THAT WE ARE NEVER RUSHED, WE CAN SPEND 3 HOURS AND TAKE OUR TIME TO ENJOY THE AMBIANCE WITHOUT WORRIES."

"The River Crab - St. Clair was recommended to us by the desk clerk at our hotel in Port Huron. What a great choice! We probably wouldn't have found it on our own, but so glad we did! Food, excellent; service, outstanding; ambiance, perfect. Although we were among just a few customers rather late on a dark and gloomy night, the staff did not rush us the slightest bit, and the menu options were plentiful and patiently described. Two fine finishes: my husband's creme brulee and a check that was appropriate, not "overstuffed!""

"We were welcomed and seated immediately. A very polite lady gave us menu's and drinks. I felt like I was home and we ordered appetizers that were great. The dinner, atmosphere,view of the water, and the timing between entrees was perfect. The happy birthday menu was a beautiful touch."

"My boyfriend took me to the River Crab/ Blue Water Inn for Valentine's day and it was a such a lovely evening. I don't know if it was the oysters rockefeller, the mood lighting or seeing my beloved in a suit that made the night so special! The waitstaff was attentive and the food was delicious!"

"The River Crab is a very low-key and quiet restaurant--even on Valentine's Day, it offered a "private" romantic dining feel with an amazing view of the St. Clair River. The food was outstanding: particularly their appetizers, which are inventive and delicious. The service was also great: our courses were out very quickly and the staff was very friendly and knowledgable. Prices are very reasonable, a steal for what you get."
