"The food was good, the pasta seemed to be house made yet was lacking the zing to give it lively flavor. The service started off great but as the meal progressed it got worse. The server seemed to forget about us. It took 15 min or more just to get the check paid. I asked for a drink and it was never brought to the table. My date asked for her food to be boxed and it never came back. The gentleman filling the water glasses however was outstanding. Those were never empty.
This was my first experience at this establishment. Due to the diminished service from the waiter I would not return."

"Our service was terribly slow for a Wednesday evening when there were not many people dining in the restaurant. It took over 30 minutes for the waiter to take our order. About 20 minutes later he returned to the table with a menu and handed to my husband. He said that they were out of the veal chop that my husband had ordered, and he would need to choose something else. I assume at that point that the kitchen had not begun any of our meals. We needed to ask for bread before anyone brought it to us and flag down the waiter to ask for the check after we finished. The noise from the bar was rather loud. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my daughter's graduation and were looking for a quiet and memorable dinner. We will not return."

"The staff was very accomodating to our needs. The evening that we went there were no specials told to us. I twas our first time eating there, which we told our server. I wish she would have taken time to help us with menu choices...recommendations. Also there was a huge table that came in during our dinner, which required extra staff to wait on them, therefore we had to wait quite a while for our dessert and bill."

"My Chilean sea bass entre was delicious. The service was attentive, but unobtrusive, as usual. The restaurant can be noisy, but on this particular night, table conversation was easy."

"I ordered the filet mignon. It was overcooked and had some fat/gristle on it. I've never been served a filet with gristle. (especially for $32.99)
The service started out good, until things got busy. Then our waiter was overwhelmed. I think the restaurant must have been understaffed, because we could see him running around like a chicken with his head cut off, but he never came to our table until we flagged him down .. twice.
The salad was good.
Disappointed."

"Villa's food is good-our server was great-but 2 things really turned us off. One: we took our kids(3 and 6)NO kids menu..OK, no problem they can make us a simple pasta dish. we ordered cheese tortellini with marinara. It looked like such a small portion when it came out I counted the tortellinis! One daughter had 17 the other had 13...so we ordered another round, this time with alfredo sauce-same quantity-that wasn't a problem...we ordered enough for them to be full... but we were charged $37.98 for the 2 split orders of plain tortellini. My kids have eaten at some of the most upscale restaurants and haven't been charged that much for what was even more food and wholesales for more than pasta! The other thing I dont have room to type- :("

"My fish entree was very good. My husband's first ribeye was of poor quality...very fatty, could not eat. Manager brought a second steak to the table which was better. Restaurant was a bit loud from the music in the bar."

"We went to Villa Farotto to celebrate our anniversary, and it was every bit the wonderful experience we had sought. The food was excellent; steamed mussels for an appetizer and two different steak dishes for entrees. The Bentley Tenderloin, topped with its bacon Gorgonzola Cabernet sauce was exceptional, grilled to absolute perfection and served atop a mushroom risotto. Our other steak was a ribeye special topped with a red pepper and roasted tomato relish that was simply amazing. Service was attentive and personal, although perhaps just a little bit on the slow side of romantic. Overall, we had a highly enjoyable experience and would happily recommend Villa Farotto as a great special occasion dining experience."

"There were two other tables in the restaurant (we had 7:30 reservations) and the service was sparse and lacked attention. Have been to Villa before, and service has been better. The concern is the lack of attention since the waiter only had one table and was more than likely messing around. Food was good as always though."

"We made reservations for Easter brunch and specifically asked about menu options as we have a very picky child. Well, I paid $13 for him to eat some bacon and grapes. We're we're told there would be waffles, and there were, but they were drenched in chocolate , caramel sauce and bananas. Not exactly what a picky eater would choose. The dessert area was a joke, as the crepe area should have been twice as large and replenished more. Finally, our server barely came by and our dishes were not cleared. Maybe because we were squished in the corner? Our server is fortunate that the 16% gratuity was added to our bill. All in all, we spent $122 and would have been happier at the Steak n Shake across the street."

"We had a 2 p.m. reservation for the Easter brunch. It took some time for them to seat us as one of the employees at the front stated, "we have too many chiefs". There were 2-3 people trying to figure out where to seat people, so it created confusion.
We were seated in the very back, which was nice. Some people had to sit in the bar area and we would not have liked that at all, as we are not drinkers and sitting in the bar area is not our idea of going to a nice restaurant for an Easter buffet.
If we were to do this again next year, we would try to get an earlier reservation as it was obvious there had been many many customers by the time we arrived.
The food was delicious."

"Villa Farotto only has brunch twice a year Easter & Mother's Day so don't miss it. Their brunch is awesome with omelets, french toast, a carving station with beef & of course pasta. They have the usual veggies & fruit and then to end a nice table with cookies, brownies & make your own crepes. The service is great & the food yummy. Too bad it's only twice a year."

"I found out about this restaurant on Groupon and decided to purchase the deal. I can honestly say that this was the best deal I've ever purchased. The location was beautiful, the ambiance was amazing, the service was awesome, the food was unbelievable! I'm running out of adjectives to describe this restaurant. I would definitely go again.
oh, and the next day at work someone asked me how was my weekend. I said "I went to a fancy restaurant in chesterfield." She replied "Villa Farotta? I went there on Saturday because I had a groupon and it was AWESOME!" I laughed and told her my story. Now we have other coworkers checking groupon daily hoping to find a deal."

"When you first walk in on all 3 visits we have had here you always stand there waiting for atleast 5 mins before anyone comes to the front, there was another customer complaining to her waitress about this..for the prices you could atleast clean the restrauant better. The walls have food on the at the booths, our table had salt all over, the lamp shade had been broken and tactfully glued back together.Our waiter handed us a wine list and we said we were not drinking and my boyfriend said he wanted water and the waiter started to walk away I guess he figured I also wanted water so I had to ask for my drink while he was walking away. It was almost like since we weren't drinking he thought he would get much of a tip..bad management it see"

"We have been dining @ Forottos for about 2 years, the service and food has always been great. The new procedure for making dinner reservations was difficult however. The message on the telephone was confusing. If the message could be made more clear and simply state that reservations should be made on line we could have saved some time. It worked out ok and on line reservations are a good way to go. Next time we will know. I would suspect however that some people after hearing the recorded message simply pick out another restaurant."

"Waited 35 minutes past reservation time wait staff missed one of my sides and was not as attentive as he should have been. Food was very good. Host was very nice. Bar has good band and was busy. I will be back hopefully reservation time will improve"

"Not a great experience. Menu pretty limited; nothing for my finicky daughter, for sure. We were very slow to be assigned service; once assigned, our server did fine. Very noisy--live music of some sort in the bar area. Icy cold in the building."

"We were very pleasantly surprised at the high quality of our meals. We usually eat in the bar or in the casual pizza side but its a totally different ambiance in the fine dining part of the restaurant...really nice!"

"I was expecting much better food for the price. I live in a very rural area, and it appears our local diner puts more thought into the food than this restaurant in a more upscale location. I was dissappointed and probably won't return."
