"Starting with the chilled Tomato soup which was a perfect temperature for such a hot day the meal was delicious. I had the fish special which consisted of Hallibut in a tasty broth accompanied by mussels and lobster ravioli. Bliss! The only complaint I had was that I had to ask for a spoon because the broth was too delicious to waste! I splurged on the chocolate mousse (after all, it was Mother's Day) and was not disappointed. Creamy and smooth and a great way to end such a delightful meal."

"It was our first time on the attractive patio, on a perfect evening, just warm enough, with a full moon out. Very busy and service was attentive but slow, nicely apologized for by complimentary glasses of the Layer Cake Shiraz we were drinking. Always love the hangar steak and frites! At one point we got a bit miffed when the music level went up and mentioned it to a staff person - turned out it was a special piece for someone celebrating a birthday and didn't last long. (And we were very much enjoying it otherwise.) But after her set, Yves Evans stopped by our table and apologized, which gave US a chance to apologize and then we had a cheerful conversation. Bottom line: very professional people here, taking the extra steps be welcoming."

"Better than the majority of the restaurants in La Quinta. Loved the cheese and meat boards, but we felt more thought should be put into the flavor profile of the other items we ordered. An example would be the beet salad. Too many earthy elements and not enough acid in the dish. Back off on the truffle oil and add an acidic element and the ph would have been perfect. Also had the osso buco and the sauce was both heavy handed and one dimentional, making the dish a bit boring. Less sauce and a few more root vegetables would have been great. The risotto it came with was very good. The pear tart we finished with was very good, although the ice cream was too heavily salted. I'm a fan of sweet and savory, but that was a little too much."

"We really enjoyed our evening. Our server, Eric, was very charming and the food delicious! I ordered the Grilled Hangar Steak Bordelaise: it was cooked to perfection! I swapped the fries for spinach (just so I wouldn't feel too guilty) yum! Didn't care for the bone marrow... My husband had the Ceasar Salad and Honey Brine Pork Chop. Again, excellent! We rarely order dessert but went for the Profiterole Au Chocolat - oh so good! Next time we hope to be seated on the patio; looks very inviting. Overall a great experience."

"My wife commented that her meal was better than a comparable meal she had in Paris. She is a foodie, enough said. As a semi-vegetarian, I eat a lot of fish, the trout almondine was very much worth every bite."

"We sat on the patio and the ambience was great. Service and food was excellent. I had the flat iron steak and it was cooked to perfection. The other meals at our table were the frogs legs--she thought it was a lot of work to get at them and thought it was an unusual way to serve them- on top of noodles. The beef bourgnion was okay, but don't think it would be ordered again. The desserts were excellent--pear tarte- outstanding. I would definitely return"

"Enjoyed lunch on the outside patio. Our server was very accomodaating and never tried to rush two friends having a very leisurely lunch. My friend had the quiche which she said was delicious. I had the Tarte Flambee which was okay, nothing special. I have had really excellent food here on other occasions. The onion soup and the croque monsieur are always satisfying. Dinner choices are varied including many regional French offerings."

"On a trip through town, I was able to get a table quickly for 1 at 6:45 on a Monday. Walked in and was seated quickly. Great wine list, prompt service the Veal Osso Bucco was super tender and had great flavor. The French Onion Soup as a starter was phenominal and almost large enough for two! Nice local's spot for even the outta towner!"

"I have been going to this restaurant since it opened for dinner and primarily for lunch. Food is good but inconsistent, service is spotty at best. The worst part about the restaurant is when you arrive and there is never anyone at the front, you wait and wait and then they meander over and ask you what you want, not greet you. I have never been greeted by a welcoming hostess who is happy to see you and enjoys here job! Pretty sad, I have given up as this last experience was the worse, I waited like 10 minutes for someone to approach me!!!!"

"First disappointing meal at this restaurant, a seafood salad for lunch, upset my admittedly sensitive tum. One must be cautious everywhere, it seems, when packaged greens are served. Whole heads of lettuce, thoroughly washed, must be my preference henceforth. It's our practice at home as well."

"We went here for lunch. We were very pleased and enjoyed a wonderful lunch and glass of wine. Our server was great! The food was tremendous, we both had the onion soup which is rich and very filling. I had the steak salad which was superb and perfect lunch meal. My wife had the quiche Lorraine and salad which she enjoyed very much. It was just like we had stepped from streets of La Quinta into a bistro on the streets of Paris. We will return for dinner and the happy hour also looks promising. Thank you."

"We were supposed to sit outside on the patio where it was a bit quieter, but were instead lead in and sat inside. We were up against a short divider wall which helped with the sound, still it was noisy. We ordered a bottle of wine, and then the water came. It was bottled, but it wasn't cold, and no ice! The 4 of us ordered 2 salads--one beet and 1 Caesar. Both salads were extremely small even for 1 person--a couple of bites split btwn 2 people. 3 of us ordered the Veal tenderloin w/squash ravioli-excellent, and my husband ordered the Wienerschnitzel Holstein. The servers got the orders mixed up when they came to the table. Maybe it was an off night, but I will try in the off season when it's probably not too noisy."

"Tuna tartare was inedible. Neither my husband nor I could eat it. It was tough, fishy, inedible. At first waitress argued, later she agreed that it was tough, you could not cut it with a knife or a fork. Salad was great. Ambiance nice. Dessert good. We would go again for a snack, not an entree."

"By "notable" wine list I mean this: The wine list is designed very well for food pairing and meeting all pocket depths. Example: Want the duck? Order the Cahors at under $40/b. or by the glass."

"I have dined at the Brasserie twice this month, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the service and food have been delightful. The outside terrace while not scenic is very cozy and inviting. The menu has great offerings. My friends had the salmon and were very pleased with the presentation and preparation of the fish. I had the soup of the day and Caesar salad. The potato-leek soup and salad were delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. What a great find in LaQuinta!"

"My wife and I went for Valentine's Day. My previous visits were excellent; this was was middle of the road. The restaurant had added tables for the evening so wait staff and servers were not familiar with table numbers. Several times the wrong items were brought to our table. The wrong starter was delivered and our waitress insisted it was correct. The pork chop I order was tasty but overcooked. All in all it will be a while before I go back."

"Probably one of the best French restaurants in the desert that's still reasonably priced. The owner/ chef is incredible ; The chicken with gnocchi was beyond perfect. The flavors are rich. The pear tart with caramel ice cream and butterscotch sauce was the best we've ever had. We'll go back after a movie JUST for the desserts! Can't wait to try the bread pudding. Congratulations on giving us a gem of a restaurant in the desert!"

"The food and service at La Brasserie were exceptional. The beet salad was uniquely flavorful as was the steak tartare appetizer. My wife had the crusted Ahi as an entree, and I had the Veal Schnitzel a la Holstein. Both were delicious and creatively composed. Contrary to some of the on-line reviews we had previously read, the service was top notch in every way. Our server, Kimberly, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable as was all the wait staff. The outdoor dining area was charming and efficiently staffed. All in all, La Brasserie Bistro provided us with a dining experience that compares favorably with any that we have experienced in the Valley."

"Although everyone in our party was happy with their food selections; the restaurant lost us all in the service (or lack thereof). The servers were polite enough but there seems to be a problem in the kitchen. It took a very long time to be served our first course and by the time the entree arrived (almost an hour after first course) we had all said we would not return."
