"We took my mother to Horizon's on Mother's Day. Everything was great. The noise level was a little high, however, that could have been because it was such a busy day. When we arrived the clouds had set in, but by the time we had finished our Mother's Day Brunch the clouds were beginning to lift. We were able to get in a walk after our brunch. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family as our overall experience was very good."

"Very difficult to carry on a conversation as it was far to noisy.If we wanted that type of atmosphere we would have gone to Eastside Marios or some place similar and saved some money.Iwouldn't recommend this restaurant for a romantic dinner.However for casual dining it's fine but expensive ."

"We had a lovely dinner at Horizon's on Saturday night. We were unfortunately seated next to a large party so it was a bit louder than we would have preferred. Next time, I'll be sure to reserve a quiet table down by the windows (better view and below the noise of the larger parties). The service was great and the presentation and flavors of our meals were a good as expected."

"Although the service and food were as good as I had expected and experienced in the past our table was not one I would reccomend again. We origionally had booked for 5 and then downsized to four that morning - so I know we were re-assigned tables as what we were seated at was not fit for 5. The table we were placed at was tucked in front of the doors that would normally open to the patio. We were a bit cramped and felt as though our table was an afterthought. For a restaurant with such nice views it would have been nice to have recieved one of the normal tables - especially since it was a mothers day special occassion."

"First of all, we had pretty good service from our server, however, our fish portions were too small. I've ordered Smoked Sablefish and it was about 2 1/2 inches by 2 inches and less than 1/2 inch thin. I know that when you smoke fish, it will shrink....but this is TOO small of a portion to serve for dinner. My mom's Halibut was a bit smaller than average."

"I chose this place for a surprise birthday brunch for a friend. Horizons went out of its way to accommodate me with a few special requests. The birthday girl was genuinely surprised. The staff were friendly, courteous and saw to every needs of my party. We all had a great time. We went with a la carte brunch instead of all you can eat brunch buffet as the buffet itself only had a few choices and not great for people with dietary restrictions. Overall, we all will go back again."

"I ahve dined at Horizons a lot. This last time I found it very noisy. they ahd a radio station playing in teh background it sounded like..with loud music..not appropriate for this kind of restaurant. ALso smallchildren were there screeching. It woudl be nice to have a late dinner with no children. I understand it is hard tomake those kind ofrules but maybe after 7 pm no kids. The waiter also was not very knowledgable on food or wines. He served the beer to our husbands asap and we waited about 15 m inutes for our wine. I didnt even get to taste the wine..he just poured it. Too bad as this is one of my favourite restaurants and now I am not so certain."

"Had our wedding dinner here and then had our anniversary dinner here a year later. As with most restaurants, they allow little kids in, which I abhor, but they were nice enough to relocate us away from a table that had a high chair in front of it. Very much appreciated.
You can't beat the view, especially at sunset, which is why we chose to get married on the mountain. The place is quiet, clean and respectful, which is very nice.
Food at our wedding dinner seemed better than at our anniversary dinner, although the halibut wrapped in prosciutto was divine. The deserts were really great and the drinks were good as well.
Overall, it was very nice, but I did expect a little more for $ 300 for dinner for two...."

"My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our 50th anniversary dinner for 2. The strong West Coast influence, evident in the menu; the great perspective of neighboring Vancouver complete with cityscape, water, mountains and the sunset, continue to make "Horizons" a favorite location for us.
There is a good balance of family friendliness, group settings and spaciousness all contributing to an enjoyable ambience. The food, wine selection, and service were very good. Great experience!"

"The best food ever but the staff did feel detached and unpersonable. Setting is amazing. this is my favourite place for special occasions or brunch. Eggs like clouds in heaven and a Bernaze sauce that was giddieness in sauce form. "The Horizons is one of my most favorite places to eat. The food is notably one of the best and the view is simply spectacular! There is ample parking. "I came here for a celebratory dinner for a promotion I just got with my boyfriend and had a lovely evening with Horizons. We were sat at a window so we could catch the sun set and eventually the night view of the city which was great.
Our server was quick to explain the evening specials and we had chosen to ord the calamari for apps, followed by the lamb shank and pork tenderloin. The food was all perfectly cooked to our liking, calamari slightly seasoned and fresh, roasted lamb shank fell off the bone with the al dente risotto, pork tenderloin moist and flavorful. Our waters were always promptly refilled which did not go unnoticed."

"Fantastic brunch any way you look at it. The omelette bar wonderful, as were all the items ordered off the menu. They really honoured our reservation (we asked for a high chair & they actually had a reserved table for us with a high chair waiting). The prices are par or in some cases less than chain restaurant brunch but far superior quality.
Only downside was the hot water for the teas. Only the first cup was decent -- all top-ups were warm. But that's really minor."

"My friend and I enjoyed a lovely lunch in a beautiful setting. The scenery outside the window where we were seated was stunning. The service was excellent - our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and I would recommend this restaurant, highly!"

"Our server was excellent. However the room was noisy and the smoked salmon sandwich was very ordinary. I was amazed to find it contained a slice of Kraft cheese when there are so many delicious and interesting cheeses available. I would recommend Horizons for the view especially for visitors to the city. Too bad the food doesn't equal the setting."

"We were really anticipating our meal @ Horizons. We had a coupon for a Steak & Lobster special. We knew a special promotion might make for a busier dining room and that the quality of the food/experience might be slightly compromised given that we were redeeming our coupon close to the end of the expiry period AND at the beginning of a long weekend. Sadly, so true.
Bison carpaccio - DELICIOUS - but so paper thin that it completely disintegrated trying to lift it from the plate. It had been made too far in advance and stuck to the plate. All 4 meals arrived barely lukewarm. Nothing was hot. Drawn butter tasted either like margarine or "topping". One steak sent back twice: SO tough! Obviously pre-made plates. "We have visited Horizons several times now and the food is usually very good however this time the food was good but not up to its usual standard. We had the special steak and lobster mean the restaurant offered throughout March. The steak was under seasoned, the lobster was pretty bland (not unusual with lobster)and the food was only warmish - not hot which is a pet peeve of mine. The chowder we started with was okay. The highlight of the meal was the burnt lemon cheesecake which was smooth, silky and delicious.
The service was very good - our waiter was very attentive and the food was delivered quickly.
We'll definitely go back again because we have had some very nice meals there - this just wasn't one of them."
