"The Kenmore is a lovely, hidden spot in downtown Fredericksburg. But we picked the wrong evening to be there. A large wedding party was going on downstairs and it sapped the attention of the waitstaff and the kitchen. Adding to the chaos was inadequate (and contradictory) signage that had party goers looking for the reception and coming through the dining rooms lost. The food ranged from sublime (the crab dip) to just-okay (the pheasant). The wine list was adequate but not very deep. Grade: B-"

"We had a lovely dinner here to celebrate a graduation. The dining room we ate in is lovely, and we saw a few tables outside on a patio under the trees that were very nice. Fried green tomato appetizer was delicious, as was the mahi mahi. Our only complaint was that service was very slow. We ate at 8 pm, so a bit after the rush, and it was still very slow."

"The kenmore inn hosted a graduation menu at $45 per person, but provided no alternatives and did not notify guests when the reservation was made. The service was poor and improper. Quality food but it was not good enough to make up for the other shortcomings."

"Dinner was great. We were seated in the front area as requested. I love ambiance of the room. If it were warmer we would have requested the outside garden area which is nice in the summer. The menu is limited but everything on it is good."

"My husband I and enjoyed our dinner at the Kenmore Inn. My husband had the duck and I had the steak. Only complaint was that the sides were very small. And for the price it would have been nice to get bread with our meal. We will go back to try the lighter fare at lunchtime."

"The staff was very helpful and friendly, given that our plane was late, and we therefore arrived well after our reservation. The food was quite good, even tho it was almost time for the kitchen to close. The band at the bar in the next room was in full swing, but it was an enjoyable evening, nevertheless."

"Food was good,however the menu is rather limited. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was empty. The bar, which shares the same downstairs space, was crowded and very noisy which made for difficult conversation. Our waitress was bouncing back and forth between the bar and restaurant, so the service was not consistent. Sunday brunch is lovely and is served in a much more elegant space. I wish they would start serving dinner upstairs again. The upstairs space has beautiful rooms, which provides a much nicer place for an evening meal. I would go back for Brunch or for a burger in the bar, but not for a nice "date" night dinner with my husband - the downstairs space has no ambience and is way too noisy for such an expensive meal."

"Sign on the door said the bar opened at 5PM but when we went in they said that they were not open. We came back for our 5:30 reservation but they were not ready for customers yet. Good food but not worth the price. Scallops were gritty. Duck was not crispy and had too much salt."

"We loved the Kenmore Inn. One of the best served meals we have had the pleasure off. Our waiter was excellent, he helped us change from the main dining room to the pub, helped us navigate the menu and made excellent suggestions. I had the normally boring hamburger but I enjoyed it thoroughly and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a real sandwich."

"My wife and I had a lovely date at Kenmore Inn. The atmosphere is a Pre-Civil war home that is immaculate. Its pretty small so its quiet and intimate. Our server was attentive and professional but the best part was the food. It was heavenly. The serving sizes were perfect and the plating was exquisite. The food itself (I had the Duck and my wife had the Filet Mignon) was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. We are rather picky with restaurants but this rates as one of the best in the area."
