"WE could not have been happier with our dinner experience for the four of us. From the Sangria to the small plates to the entrees and finally dessert, everything was just perfect. Our waiter was attentive, full of suggestions when asked and his timing was perfect.

"Food was okay but not spectacular. Despite having a reservation for 6 they squeezed us into a banquette that was meant for 4. Waiter was not attentive. Table too crowded to fit plates. Very noisy. Prices high for the experience delivered."

"Perhaps my mistake was telling the server that I was the designated driver for the evening and that my beverage of choice would be water. OK - May in the Valley of the Sun means dry, hot weather. It had been in the upper 90s during the day. I sat for two hours without having my water glass refilled; finally after asking three times for a refill, she got the message. How interesting (funny?) that when the drinkers at my table wanted another bottle of wine, she was quick on the draw. What does that say for the service???"

"This restaurant is fantastic, not necessarily for the food - which was good, but for the atmosphere. I liked how the indoor restaurant area is open to the outdoor area. We sat inside because it was 90+ degrees out, but it still felt like we were outside. I really enjoyed the whole experience."

"Loved the ambience of the outdoor patio. I took my son here one night after the Bulls game and I loved it so much that I made another reservation to come back with my husband and both sons. We enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. The first night I ordered the sweet potato ravioli and thought that it was somewhat over salted. The second time, I ordered the fillet and the sauce on that was also very salty. However, my family had no complaints about their meals. The bar was fun to sit at but the inside noise level was pretty loud. The outside was just perfect and we will be back next time we're in Arizona."

"My daughter took me here for an early Mother's Day dinner celebration. We sat out on the patio and it was lovely and shaded from the early evening sun. They had a wonderful wine selection and our food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the bread and basil pesto appetizer. Next time we would be sure to ask for a table overlooking the water. Will definitely be back."

"Went with my wife to Olive and Ivey on Saturday May 11th. Requested to be seated outside on the patio via Open Table. When we arrived we were seated right aware even though we were 10 minutes early. We got exactly the type of table we were looking for. Great feel to the restaurant, even though it is huge we felt like we were in a different state than AZ. Food was very good and the waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Would recommend and will be back."

"We were celebrating a graduation out of town. I had a party of 14 and my service did not miss a beat. The manager also came over to our table to greet the graduate and the party. "My husband & I took our 24 year old son and 92 year old father to dinner. The restaurant is beautiful. We especially loved being indoors and outdoors at the same time. The staff was perfect, our waiter was the right amount of friendly and attentive. The food was perfect. However, looking around I noticed that I was in the majority being a 50 something. So when I wished for a smooth jazz background music instead of the noise they were filling the restaurant with, I bet it would be better received by most of the diners that night. Classy music for a classy place, why not?"

"I am trying to save a 21 year marriage and my wife and I had a fantastic time. The food was great, the portions were perfect and the cocktails were unique and very enjoyable. After dinner we walked area around the restaurant and had a nice romantic stroll. The evening ended in a very romantic fashion. Certainly helped us remember that we still enjoy each others company and have common tastes in food. We will definitely keep coming back and I have already recommended it to several friends."

"We love Olive and Ivy. The last time we went there, I had made a reservation for five but seven people ended up showing up (on a weekend eeek!) and they graciously and quickly accommodated us even though they were very busy. It started raining outside and the staff rushed to move us indoors to another table. Beyond great service and food. The pastas and salads are fantastic. The starter bruschettas are phenomenal. The shrimp risotto, the salmon, and the chicken scallopini are all amazing. Definitely recommend this place."

"We met some new friends of ours out for the first time at Olive & Ivy's this past Friday night. The booth we sat in was excellent as it faced away from the bar, which reduced the ambient sounds being produced from that area, and faced the patio and r
iver area of the outside seating, which gave the feeling that we were dining al fresco. The service was extremely polite, efficient, and mindful that were socializing. They were timely, but never rushed us on any course, or at the end of the meal.
The food was delicious. I had the lamb meatball appetizer, and the mushroom tortellini entree. Both were OUTSTANDING. My wife, had the beet salad and the sweet potato cannelloni, which I tried and it was rich and delicious. Excellent overall."

"The patio here is now a lovely shady nook at the vibrant Scottsdale Waterfront. Flat bread is a bit overpriced, while quality is high - 16$ for a flatbread with a few crumbles of prosciutto added is a bit stiff. Wine prices have jumped, although the selection is good, but if lower pricing, which is still in line with 3 times mark-up, would make me order more wine - this is true, especially for the bubbly. Salads outstanding,as always. Skip the peanut-butter marshmallow ice cream sandwich - I missed the strawberry shortcake."

"We love Olive & Ivy - great unique food - great service - wonderful atmosphere. I was meeting up with my girlfriend and of course she was a few minutes late - and they were very busy. No problem, they held our table on the patio until she arrived. And, we had a nice long visit - our server was attentive and helpful describing the food selection. "There were 4 of us dining. Our only negative comment is that the dinners were not served at the same time. Two meals came first and while we waited for the second 2 meals to arrive, the first two got cold. Actually, the second two meals to arrive were not that hot either. The 4 star good service above was for the great wait person; however food service delivery took a long time, first for the appetizers and then for the dinners to arrive."

"Food was just okay. Didn't bring bacon with the dish even though it was extra and ordered with it. You can get all the free refills you want on coke, but they wanted to charge me twice to have a ginger ale. Told two people we were celebrating a birthday and no one acknowledged it. Ordered two coffees to go at the end, didn't bring it. Had to remind them about the coffee and birthday and I suggested they give us the coffees instead of giving us a dessert. My son's meal, biscuits and gravy was very dry. All in all, it was a mediocre experience and cost me $110 for 3 adults and one child."

"For me, the ambience on the patio is worth everything, so it's a plus that the food and wine selection are both very good. The people at the front desk are genuinely friendly and go to lengths to be helpful, and the wait staff is great for the most part. Sometimes we will get someone who forgets things... but there are a lot of tables to serve out there. The fact that you can make reservations is huge, because this is a very popular restaurant. The Olive and Ivy patio is my go-to when I have out of town guests."

"The food was very good and the service was excellent. The noise level was absolutely deafening. We went to Olive and Ivy to dine NOT to dance. Our entire party walked out of there with headaches and sore throats from screaming in order to be heard over the music. In addition we could not hear our server and our server could not hear us, but she was able to get all of our orders 100% correct."

"We will not return. The food was bad - over sauced & so rich with butter that it was inedible. We had to ask the wait staff to slow down our meal - appetisers arrived within moments of receiving our cocktails then salad was brought as our plates were cleared (still hadn't finished the cocktails!). We had been there all of 10 minutes at this point The dj music was so loud we couldn't hear each other or the waiter and he was playing electronic dance music - great for a club not a nice dinner. Very disappointing evening."

"Our waiter was nice, but he must have been distracted or something, because everything was slow coming. His side helpers were more attentive then he was. One person in our party was very specific with her order and he basically got everything wrong. She requested rare to medium rare on her burger and it came medium to well-done, but she refused to send it back. She also wanted mustard & tomatoes on the side, which he forgot altogether, but he put everything else on the side, including the bun & the cheese; very odd. We had to find a hostess to get the missing items because he never came back on a timely basis to ask how everything was; we've had better service there. Another guest in our party loved the sweet potato pasta though!!"

"The food was awful. The service was worse... the waitress made multiple comments about what we should get that were unsolicited. She assured me the tuna was sushi grade rare and out comes cooked tuna! Worse she takes it back to kitchen and brings back the manager who tells me he looked at it in the kitchen WITH A FLASHLIGHT and it was rare. Somehow I just don't think theres a debate it's rare or it's not and he wanted to tell me it was seared yet it was seared all the way through ... 'nuff said! What the what?! Couldn't run out of there fast enough!!"
