"It was like going to Applebee's or a low-class wedding reception. Not one member of the staff seemed proud to work there. We waited at the host stand for 5 full minutes before anyone greeted us. They were good about accommodating my request for a window table and moving my reservation to a later time, but that had more to do with the fact that they had a ton of open covers."

"The food was delicious and the service competent and non-intrusive. Lots of nice, fresh ingredients and the prices are quite reasonable. There was some screaming baby noise because it was Mother's Day, but what can you do? It was one of the few places the family has eaten recently where my 82-year-old father could hear well enough to be part of the conversation. Lovely setting. Unbeatable for a relaxing meal at a reasonable price."

"My friend and I came in right at opening for Sunday brunch before going to the DAM. We were their first table and so it was very quiet, yet they had some great music playing (Mumford and Sons and the Lumineers that I recall). It took a little while for the drinks to come out but after that the service was quick and attentive. I assume they were mixing up a batch of mimosas and getting the bar set up or something since we were the first table. Food was fantastic and we really enjoyed starting our day at the museum with brunch at Palattes!! I'll be back for sure, especially for lunch when they open the patio for the season. Great spot!"

"The food tasted and looked great. However it took for ever for us to get our food. I think something went wrong in the kitchen because I have never had this problem before. We all had the pre-fix meal (mostly the new mexican menu and it was great!!!) so I expected it to take a long time but we were in there almost 3 hours we almost didnt have time for the O'Keefe exhibit But all in all it was a good day. Good food and great exhibit."

"Overall, everything was fine, but the restaurant's policy of not doing separate checks is annoying when there are multiple parties, which is usually most times we are there. We had an embarrassing situation after all of us tallied up what we thought we owed, and the server returned to tell us we were several dollars short! Most restaurants we dine at allow for separate checks. Palette's policy I believe compromises the other wise pleasant experience we had."

"We frequently combine a visit to the Denver Art Museum with a meal at Palettes. The food, ambiance, and service has consistently been excellent. Recently we have enjoyed the restaurant's themed menus with dishes inspired by special exhibits at the museum. Last Saturday, we were delayed in traffic. When we called to say we would be late, our table was kindly held for us. Palettes has become our favorite place to eat when we are in downtown Denver."

"Had a great lunch with friends before heading over to the DAM to view the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit. With the great windows we could watch the world walking by. The food was terrific; the service was a little spotty - wrong wine - not remembering who ordered what. Long times in between checking to see if there was anything we wanted.
This is a favorite place and will continue to be so - especially for lunch. Loved the special southwest menu in conjunction with the O'Keeffe exhibit although we didn't not order from it - too many other good choices."

"This was my second visit to Palettes. My first visit was outstanding and my second was the same. I would go back there any time for many different occasions. We loved it.
The service was perfect ... way beyond outstanding. Our waitress deserves five (5) stars

"This was one of many visits I have had to Palettes, and it never fails to be a treat! We always enjoy having lunch there when visiting the DAM. Our server was energetic and recommended some very nice dishes that we enjoyed. I had the shrimp enchiladas (upon his recommendation) and they were just right for a lovely lunch. One friend had the eggplant dish and the other had the Ahi tuna which they also enjoyed. It's always a relaxing hour or so in between our art fix at the Museum."
