Posh at The Scranton Club
POSH At The Scranton Club is a full service restaurant and Event facility located in beautiful downtown Scranton in what was formerly a private club. Open to the public for the first time in the building's history, POSH offers classic American bistro cuisine in a refined yet casual setting, as well as the latest cocktails in the Fashion Lounge, and Oak Bar. Enjoy classic and affordable American cuisine in an elegant and historical setting. The City Hall Bar overlooks the impressive municipal building of the city of Scranton. Daily specials and farm to table offerings from our Executive Chef Jim McNally are available. The elegant second floor event space can accommodate up to 300 guests for a sit down event. Menus are customized to the needs of the client by our on-site event planner.

"Went to Posh before an 8:00 show at the Cultural Center on 5/10. Arrived before our 6:30 reservation so we had a cocktail before dinner. The bartender is very friendly and made excellent drinks. We were seated at our reservation time. Rather than ordering a full dinner, my friend and I split the Pork flatbread and each ordered the Arugula salad. Both were excellent.
The service very slow that night. I will admit all tables in the dining room were full and many tables had parties larger than 4 people, which could have been the reason for the slow service. After our salads were served our waitress didn't come back to the table to check on food or later to offer coffee and we had to flag her down to get our check to make the show on time."

"Posh is a beautiful place for a date night or a larger party. Their ambiance is nothing short of stunning and the food as well as service is top notch. Besides the main dining room and bar area they have a lounge type room that is beautifully decorated, a room with a separate bar, and an upstairs banquet hall that was hosting a wedding reception when we were there! Halfway through the meal, my fiancé was asking when we would be coming back!"

"I recently had the pleasure of having dinner with a group of seven for a birthday celebration. First off, the building and decor are lovely. Very tastefully done. The dining room is spacious and comfortable. I particularly liked the draperies and upholstered chairs with landmark Scranton buildings. Very unique.
The service was excellent, Our waiter, Jeff, could not have been more personable and attentive.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. One diner remarked that his pork chop was the most tender he had ever eaten. The seared scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious. And my husband loved the salmon.
It was a very pleasant dining experience in all respects. I plan to return."

"Two couples dined on a Thursday night - drinks in the small bar first, and the drinks were wonderful - we had one of the special martinis (cucumber!) and a cosmopolitan - both were excellent. The men drank beer and Jack and water. We relaxed and enjoyed the table snacks before dinner. Dinner was TERRIFIC - from the wines to the entrees, everything was perfect. Overhearing that it was our friend's birthday, the lovely maitre d' brought the "birthday girl's" dessert over with a candle and she and our waitress sang to her - just delightful! Posh is an asset to downtown Scranton!"

"Having visited for the first time, I found Posh to be delightful. The food was very good, visually appealing and a wide choice of selections. I tasted the tuna and scallops from the menu and enjoyed both. The Oreo Creme Brulee for dessert was decadent. Because we dined before a performance at the Cultural Center,service was hit and miss, I assume due to the crowds. Order at 6:15 PM, our appetizer arrived 15 minutes later and our entrees came out a short time later just when we were ready for them. A friend joined us at 7:15 and ordered both an appetizer and entree. His appetizer came out at 7:45 and his entree arrived at 7:55. Needless to say, we missed the 8:05 curtain by a few minutes since the entree was too good to shovel down."

"My daughters took me for my birthday and it was a very special lunch. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The wait staff was great and the food was wonderful. A good mix of choices and prices. There were several lunch specials that I would have enjoyed had it not been for the lamb chops which were reasonable priced. My meal was delicious and my birthday luncheaon wss a success. "This is my 5th visit to Posh, and I think I can conclude that for my tastes it is the best restaurant in Scranton. The management are gracious, the atmosphere is dignified, the cocktails are superb, the wine list is very sophisticated, and the food is really, really good. On my most recent visit I had delightful cajun aroncini as an appetizer and a perfectly prepared swordfish entree. A previous visit revealed the restaurants facility with brunch. A great show all around. Posh is the real thing."

"I so want to love this restaurant. As lovely as it is, there are some things that still need tweaking! My first pet peeve is that when they bring you their delicious soft pretzels pieces to dip in two delicious sauces, they seem to not take into consideration the number of people at the table. Twice I've dined with a friend and both times they've brought us 3 pretzels (total, not each). How odd is that? So we each eat one and either leave the last one or have to share it. That's just silly. The servers are competent enough. I'm not a fan of the cigar smoke I often smell. The food is tasty and the menu has many options."

"The room was posh for sure - a great design. The food was lackluster: I ordered the roast beef dip with garlic herb au jus and it was flat tasting. The pastries that came with brunch looked like a packaged mix from a food service supplier. We expected fresh croissants and danish and received old muffins that looked like they moved from one basket to another as new diners arrived. Good breakfast sausage and steak for my wife. The server forgot the fruit and pastries that were supposed to come with brunch and we didn't get them until the end (and left them mostly untouched...). The service was slow overall. I feel like we could have went to Friendly's and gotten the same meal for half the price. We expected more. Maybe call it "Posh-ish"?"

"The food was wonderful! A great tuna nicoise(sp? I'm afraid that's not right)salad,a very fine "by the glass" wine list and an incredible limoncella fantasy cake for dessert. No espresso, but all is forgiven since the rest was so delicious!
This was my first visit, but it won't be my last. Oh! have the crab tater-tots for your appetizer. You'll be very happy; I could've made lunch out of those alone :)

"This was our first visit to Posh. Hostess, coat check and waitstaff were uniformly gracious and welcoming as we entered. Good menu and specials selection. One of our party ordered the pan-seared scallops, her benchmark dish for evaluating restaurants, found it to be well prepared. My order was risotto with mushrooms, also well prepared with a good, lingering flavor on the back of the palate. Bar selections were surprisingly modestly priced for premium selections (single malt scotch). Waitstaff very pleasant, helpful and attentive. Restaurant had exceptional ambiance, quiet and fine for conversation.
