"June was perfect for patio dining.....beautiful evening only topped of by a spectacular dinner. The children's menu even features filet, prime rib, chicken nuggets, and mac/cheese. Never have seen that before. 3 of us ordered the prime rib and they literally brought us a cow, I think. Appetizers and desserts are showy and tasty. 2 of our party had the halibut and were very impressed. Service is above and beyond, which is what we expect there. One lady changed her order and the server forgot to change it when she keyed it in, so they gave her both entrees---one made an excellent lunch the next day! We also had a birthday brunch here before and it was just as good."

"After years of wondering about this spot based on all the positive reviews, we decided to give it a shot. It's not for food lovers, but it would be a nice place to grab a few drinks and an appetizer or two, if only for the experience of dining al fresco. The Prix fix selections reminded me of bad country club food and the wine pairings were of the cheapest sort. Our last flight of wine arrived halfway through our entre course - another swing and a miss. Oh, well. Unlikely that we'll ever go back."

"We enjoyed the wonderful music on the patio again Wednesday. What a fantastic way to celebrate mid-week heading toward the weekend. I enjoyed the Shrimp and Scallops - spicy but not too spicy. My friend had the Tenderloin Tacos - she said they were delicious. We hadn't seen each other for many months and it was a wonderful evening - just catching up. We are planning on meeting at the Briarwood again in July. When you go you must try the Cheese Platter - delicious and just the right amount to enjoy with wine. Go for the desserts too - they serve a wonderful dessert tray or individual desserts. Try the "house made ice cream" to die for. Next up is Quantum Jazz on the Patio - can't miss that! Good food/good music - what else could you ask for."

"We make an annual (at least) visit for our anniversary, and as in the past, we know we can expect a really great dinner and service second to none.Our most recent visit was no exception and met our every expectation.You new menu selections were a bit of a suprise, and I missed one of my old favorites, but my new selection was also exceptionally good.Thank You!"

"The experience was absolutley perfect. We got there early and started with drinks in your beautiful lounge. Then were taken to our table where the magic began. "We have been going to the Briarwood for 15 years now and this was easily our most disappointing visit. The appetizer was as always fantastic, as were the updated salad selections (the highlight), however the revamped entree selection is very disappointing. The signature dishes, Medallions Briarwood, and the beef wellington were gone from the menu. These were what set the Briarwood apart from every other upscale restaurant. Now their entrees are far lacking the competition. The meat was not seasoned and the sauces were bland and a little burnt. The wine selection was great as always and the Prix fixe idea was a good choice with the wine pairings but the entrees need much work."

"We went for brunch the day before Mother's Day. The waiter was so nice! The Roast Prime Rib of Beef was the best prime rib I have ever tasted! The pastries and fresh fruit were so delicious and for two people there were more than plenty! The serving of the fruit and pastries was so beautiful. The age of this establishment shows (not in a bad way), but the decor and china are so fitting. It has a quiet elegance resembling the area in which it resides."

"What better way to celebrate the middle of the work week than Briarwood's Summer Music on the Patio. We were there for the opening event - music, magic and a wonderful meal. Began the evening with wine and a delicious cheese tray - just the right amount of fantastic cheese and crackers.....followed by the artichoke & spinach dip. Waited awhile - listened to music and then ordered our entrée.....no pressure to rush.....just relax and enjoy! We ordered Tenderloin tacos - delicious and huge.....and Spicy Shrimp and Scallops - unbelievable. The Briarwood has a new menu - some new dishes and many of the old favorites. Next Wednesday, June 12, the Eli Owens Trio will be performing. We'll be there!"

"We have been going here for a lot of years on special occasions. The new menu is very good, but I was looking forward to Beef Wellington, no longer on the menu. The filet was excellent, as was the halibut. We love the $60 per person special, appetizer tray (absolutely wonderful), salad or soup, main course, and dessert. I had to take my dessert home in a box. We love the Brirwood and hope it stays around for a long time!"

"We thought the food was very good but the portions were on the small side for the money spent. That is the reason for the four star rating under food category. We have eaten at the Briarwood many times and at this visit noticed some changes, the menu for one, that we were a little off about. The wait staff remained wonderful as always."

"We dine at The Briarwood Inn quite often. Everything on the menu is delicious. This time my husband ordered the Prime Rib - again enough for 2 meals - perfectly done (medium rare) - juicy. I ordered Prime Briarwood - if you haven't tried this combination please do so...again, enough for 2 meals. Pastries were delicious - my husband loves the "swan".
Remember Dad on Father's Day - don't ask him to grill out - take him to The Briarwood for Brunch. I'll be taking my husband there!"

"4 of us dined at the Briarwood for brunch on Mothers Day. The food was pretty good. This was because it seemed to mostly be pre-cooked then warmed up. However I have had brunch there before and it was excellant and cooked to order so I assume because of the large crowd that was there for the holiday the only way to serve that many diners efficiantly was to do exactly what they did.
They serve fresh fruit, champagne and several kinds of danish. The menu offered several entrees to chose from and all for the same price of 32$. The atmosphere is beautiful and the staff very attentive and friendly.
This is a special restaurant for special occasions ! Will most definately go again."

"The Brianwood Inn never fails to be consistently incredible. The food, the flair, and the overall flavor is fit for royalty. This is a stellar place for special occassions from Mother's Day, Graduations, Christmas, and any other special occassion to fit your need.
Our Mother's Day meal from the pastries to my prime rib spin on egg benedicts was behind flavor and savor. Bottom-line, it was exceptional. I would highly recommend this place nestled right in the foothills of Golden."

"It was Saturday before Mother's Day. Lots of diners having brunch or afternoon tea. The restaurant didn't appear to be understaffed. We waited 20 minutes to be seated for our 1:00pm reservation. From the introduction of our server until the time we left, we were there 3.5 hours...a VERY long time for tea. The table seated across the aisle, was seated 30-45 minutes after us and were served their last tea course with ours. The restaurant was seating up for dinner service when we finally left.
I've been to the Briarwood for tea before. It has never been like this. Afternoon Tea is not cheap. I expect MUCH so more from the Briarwood."

"It's been a few years since I've been to the Briarwood Inn as I moved from the Denver area 7 years ago. I was in town for my son's graduation from Auguste Escoffier's Culinary Arts School. Where could I take this new Chef that would impress him? The Briarwood Inn, of course! He was delighted with the ambience, the appetizers (the olive pate - oh my!), the entrees. He sampled each dish & loved the duck- and the Rocky Moutain trout delightfully garnished with a light sauce, scallops, and shrimp. From the dessert sampler, the coconut-crusted bananas were the favorite of all at the table. Looking forward to our next visit to the Denver area. The Briarwood Inn will once again be at the top our "must dine" list."

"My husband and I ate at the Briarwood on our first date -- 30 years to the day before this latest dining experience. Happy to report the Old World charm and romantic ambiance remains every bit as magical as on that first visit. Today, as then, the appetizer Lazy-Susan selections are a delectable meal in themselves. The entrée and wine selections are superb, with something to please every palate. There's never enough room for the wonderful dessert array of fruits and sweets, but they very graciously pack up whatever you can't eat then for an encore later at home."

"We always enjoy going to the Briarwood for special occasions. This evening was to celebrate my husband's birthday and we were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival, and ushered to our table - given a choice of a table or a booth. The waiter was cheerful, professional and had an impeccable sense of timing as to when we were ready for the next course. There was never a rush, and we were allowed to savor each course. The appetizer tray was excellent, as usual,which really makes a meal in itself. The salads were fresh and tasty, and the entrees cooked to perfection. The dessert tray was not necessary, but delicious! All in all, a very leisurely enjoyable evening - just a superb dining experience!"

We had always enjoyed the inviting environment and we can always count on a good meal. However, prices seem out of line for type of food we had compared to other fine dining establishements we also enjoy.
New York 16oz steak, mashed potatos and steamed veggies, elk medallions, rice, steamed veggies, 2 drinks: with tip, $187.00. Of course this included appitizers, average, and dessert, nothing fancy."

"brunch was disappointing. our guest had yesterday's prime rib with eggs benedict-she wanted it medium--came our NY rare-she couldn't eat it with all the other food so took home to recook for another meal or two . my wife and I had the seafood crepes. must have been 1500 calories in butter and cream--overwhelming. tasty at the time, not so the next morning. Danish was pleasant, but not that great. fruit salad was ample and very nice. free mimosas appreciated, not sure why coffee an extra $3. charge on top of the pretty steep brunch price ($33. ea). lovely environment, but not truly worth the cost of the meal."
