"First time diners at Storefront Company. Really impressed with every aspect of the experience. The front of the house staff was very attentive, the bartender had a great personality and the server was great. The food was delicious and while sitting at the bar you can watch the extremely talented dessert chef prepare the beautiful desserts. The only thing missing were burgundy wines on the wine list."

"There were four of us for dinner, and food was terrific. Highly recommend the lobster appetizer and the lamb main course. Very interesting and delicious use of ingredients. Our desserts were terrific as well. We also really enjoyed the blood orange martini's. Really great wait staff too."

"Service was excellent - very attentive, informative but not overbearing. We had the lobster and the porcini mushroom appetizers which we enjoyed. Our fish dishes were bland, nothing to write home about. I would try this restaurant again on the chance the chef had an off night with the fish."

"When I read the description of the restaurant it sounded fresh with healthy food choices. Upon actual examination if the menu I felt like I needed an interpreter. Our excellent server translated, but I found some ingredients contrived e. g . Rye in chocolate dessert was over powering and I would have preferred a nice fresh piece of bread. A little less creativity would make the menu more desirable- in my humble opinion. But it was a lovely dinner"

"Easily the best service I've ever had in the neighborhood. Try to get a seat at the bar with a view of the open kitchen. When you order from the bib menu you'll receive your food directly from the chef with a brief explanation of the dish. Everything was delicious, perfectly proportioned and served with great wine pairings. We will definitely be going back soon."

"I was there this past Saturday night with my husband and three other couples. Overall, we had a nice experience, although there are a few things you should know before going. This is not a good restaurant for large groups. The tables are long and narrow and the noise level is very high. I was only able to talk to the people right next to me or right across from me. The hostess tried sitting us at two tables of 4, separated by a 1-2 foot space. When we gently complained, she agreed to seat us at another table. Our server was hurried and seemed to have too many tables, but he was knowledgeable. Although the menu is small, the food was flavorful and creative. Be prepared for small portions, especially the entrees. Loved the cheese plates!"

"Our second visit was just like the first...everything just terrific. It all starts with the friendly greeting when you arrive and continues with the attentive and informative dining room staff. The food is creative and tasty., we simply haven't sampled anything we didn't enjoy. The wine list is modest, but well chosen selections are aplenty. This is simply one of our favorite spots in Bucktown."

"Also, very well presented and served with attention. The wine list is small and wines are expensive (eg not a single Cabernet Sauvigon under $100). Everything else, perfect. We just came back from 6 yrs in Europe (Madrid) and this place is par to the best ones over there."

"We went to the Storefront Company on a Friday night and it was absolutely wonderful. The staff was charming and informative and they worked seamlessly. There were five of us, including my 60-some parents, and we sat in the back nook - the ambience was upbeat yet you had no trouble hearing conversation. It would also be a lovely date night. The food was truly a dining experience. Innovative parings, melt-in-your-mouth morsels of food. I cannot wait to go back!"

"Cocktails -- Good variety and the bartender was very knowledgable & helpful. Food -- Wonderful. There was 6 of us for dinner and we tried to order different dishes so we could try them and every single one was amazing. Service -- One of the best I've received in a very long time. From the greeting by the host/hostess to the bartender to the wait staff, we were treated so graciously. Ambiance -- The restaurant is on the smaller side, but it doesn't feel small. The decor is very modern and clean, but warm. If you get the chance, sit at the bar and enjoy the show of the bartenders making interesting cocktails to the view of the open kitchen & what the chefs are doing. We would definitely go back again!!"

"This restaurant was surprisingly more like a Michelin star restaurant than a bib gourmand. We did the chefs tasting menu. You must sit at the bar counter if you would like to do that (so if you're interested, request to sit there when you make your reservation). They had run out of a few things that had been listed on the menu and made substitutions (we were only informed of one ahead of time and the 2 occurred). The foods were well presented - delicate and ornate. Some parts were hit of miss. The make shift items seemed sort of thrown together rather than the composed dishes one expects at that level. The desserts were well done and creative. I loved cracking into the meringue to get to an ice cream center."

"While the food is excellent, our overall experience was very problematic. The noise level renders serious conversation nearly impossible. We found it physically unpleasant for this reason. More seriously, we were initially overbilled $100 for wine. When brought to the attention of the restaurant, we did not receive an apology. The bill was corrected. We were treated as if "Aw, they caught us?" Never again here."

"This was our first visit and it was delightful to park right outside but valet was available. There were few people there on a thursday evening. It was quiet but I imagine that it could change as there is little in the environment to absorb the sound. The choice of music was unsuitable for a relaxing dining experience but the food was sensational especially the lamb meatballs and antelope entree. While the server did an "over the top" explanation of the choices, the menu was terribly unclear. As with many places, cocktails are the focus and they are not for us. A more expanded wine list would help. Upon leaving we were given chocolate macaroons with receipe; what a memorable, creative touch. We will return for the food"

"Exotic surf & turf menu featuring a small selection of excellent quality dishes. My date & I enjoyed Antelope, Lamb & Lobster. The Sommelier was very helpful & knowledgeable in making both food and beverage decisions. Prices were reasonable for fine dining, but the decor/ambiance was fitting of a hospital cafeteria. I would definately go back for the food in a group setting, but not for a romantic dinner."

"Food was amazing and really enjoyed the overall ambiance and black and white decor with the pop of red flowers on table and colorful food. The only downside was the unusually slow service when it seemed to be sufficiently staffed and not overly crowded. Will definitely be returning!"

"Lovely restaurant. I go there regularly. I sit at the counter and order chef's tasting menu. Tasting menu changes weekly. Last week i went there twice. Chef Bryan was kind enough to do a different menu for me on the second visit.
High value. In fact priced too low for the quality and craftsman/womanship. Pastry chef Kym DeLost is a delight. Highly talented. One of top pastry chefs in Chicago.
If it is your first time or you go alone I recommend the tasting menu most. In groups, you may enjoy the "sharing menu" more...."

"We came knowing we'd order the Blood Orange Martini and it was fabulous! It was our second time here for dinner. We ordered new items and everything was delicious. It is pricey but I know that these are dishes I could never make at home so it's ok for a special occasion. Both times we've been, we've been disappointed with the wine selection. The bottles are all over $60. We split a bottle last time and were bummed we spent so much money on a bottle that wasn't as good as $20 bottles we've had in the past. We ordered glasses this time around and while the price of a glass is comparable to other places, the wine was still not that great. The staff was great and very knowledgeable about the food. We'd go back again for a special treat."

"I had a Gilt City voucher and we could pick one item from the "share" section. . we chose the deviled eggs -- unlike any deviled egg you've had and so absolutely delicious!! Then my husband had the egg white omelette which he liked very much and I had a lamb ragu dish on polenta with a fried egg on top. . .all melted together into a very yummy dish. I also ordered the pork belly side but I didn't really care for that --- wish I had tried the cheddar biscuits! Next time. . .plus I want to try to ricotta and lemon pancakes and about 10 other things. The decor is also really interesting. And Jenn, our waitress was spot on perfect! She was great with suggestions (like the blood orange mimosas -- OMG!) and always there for us."

"We are foodies who travel the US and Europe to visit the best restaurants and Store [Front is notably a hidden treasure. The presentation of the food was beautifully executed and best yet, it tasted as good as it looked. We had many "ooh and ah" moments! The chef is inventive and his attention to detail is noticeable. The service was also attentive and friendly, but not overbearing. And to make this experiene even better, all was to be had at an affordable value. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and it is on our top 5 list at the moment. We plan to go back for the chef tasting within a few weeks."
