Estiatorio Milos by Costas Spiliadis is a family restaurant that is true to its roots in every sense of the word. With 32 years of hard work and loyalty, Milos Miami marks the brand’s fifth location. An open kitchen is offset by a fish market display providing diners with a stunning selection of more than a dozen varieties of whole fresh fish served by the pound. Selections arrive daily from independent fishermen as nearby as the Florida Keys and as far as the Greek Islands. While they vary with the changing of the tides, guests have the opportunity to engage in their dining experience - pick it, price it and make it theirs.
"The food is super fresh, exquisite dishes. The services is excellent. A definite must for anyone who like fine dinning, fresh food, great wine and a great experience!"

"In the lovely quiet neighborhood of South Point (SOFI) Miami Beach away from the craziness. Of course the food is great coming from Milos by Costas Spilladis. We have been to Montreal and NYC, this does not disappoint. If you love the freshest fish prepared simply in a very beautiful elegant setting this is it. It is very expensive but worth it for a special dinner. They also have a very nice prix fixe lunch menu which we will check out one of these days."

"Go for lunch. It's a fraction of the price for a terrific, three course meal. The Greek specialties aren't messed with - they're simple and delicious. It's a beautiful setting - you feel as if you're really getting away and going out. I think it's magical. And while the prices can be steep, it's a splurge worth taking. Love it!"

"Great food (try the octopus, the tuna tartare a touch small plate but superb taste!) Great service - special mention goes to the service offered by Daniele. He made our experience there very special!"

"We had a late reservation and when we went to order, the server told us a large number of dishes were unavailable. It's disappointing because many of the dishes we wanted were 86'ed. The Fargi was excellent and so was the octopodi."

"The Emperor Has No Clothes. Had been hearing about this place for ages but the general feedback was that it wasn't worth the money even though the service is impeccable. Well, the night I was there the service was deplorable. The fish was tasty despite the high bone content. But it just wasn't worth the cost. Folks were right."

"On vacation, or just don't feel like cooking at home? You can eat fantastic fish, fresh from the sea, grilled in olive oil and sea salt to make your mouth water.
The problem is that you'll pay five times what you would pay at Casablanca's market (three times what you'd pay at Whole Foods) and you could have cooked it yourself.
It's great, but also within ones own ability since it's just fish! A $135 branzino is really a $35 branzino, plainly grilled.
I cook my own octopus and while theirs is also great, it's not really a kitchen extravaganza - it's just well cooked octopus.
Overall it's a great environment and nice restaurant but expensive for what you get. We will come back though so I'm clearly a sucker for punishment."

"Avevo gia mangiato da Milos a New York, con molta soddisfazione, e lo stesso e' stato a Miami. Ottimi gli antipasti e molto buono il pesce anche grazie ai consigli di Daniele.bella la location unica pecca il rumore di fondo che non permette una buona conversazione!"

"Other reviews that I read disparaged the service; my experience was that the service was friendly and attentive. The octopus appetizer was the best I've ever tasted. Hard to rationalize spending $150 on a fish entree for two where the server helps selects a fish from the display, but that's probably the way to go (fish filet of tuna & halibut were not special). Beautiful restaurant."

"Very limited wine list. High price and no familiar brands. Did not have any wine we were familiar with and they pushed wines we never heard of and had no idea of value.
Good food, good service, honored reservation. Very high prices make this a special occasion place."

"Food great as usual however the service was something that would warrant closing the restaurant. From the blockhead waiters they brought in yesterday from Gold's Gym to the incompetent manager, it was a clean sweep fail. Never to return. For roughly $100 per entre' I know its just a money grab by the owner at this point."

"We went for a birthday celebration and had a terrific experience. Milos is one of the three best dining experiences we've had in South Beach. The service was perfect. We sat near the front window which was a lovely spot in the restaurant. The cosmo was a great start to the meal. Walking over to the fish display and seeing what our fish choices were was both interesting and fun. We had a big eye snapper from the Mediterranean for two which was full of flavor without being overly 'done' as in sauces etc. The tomato salad is beyond compare. a large portion easily shared by two or three. The grilled vegetable appetizer was our side. Flavorful variety of vegetables prepared simply. It was a lovely dining experience."

"While the tradition of lunch special keeps true to yet another Milo's , this Fla chain needs a lot of catching up to do to the Montreal concept & fame. We were 4 for lunch & 3 app came out, after we were done the 4th finally showed up & was WAY over salted. They changed the dish & it was good. The mains were also ok but WAY over salted again! Finally the manager made his way over . The decor is nicer in Fla than NLT."

"the restaurant is very good - the food is excellent. the service so-so.. tend it to give attitude - from the Hostess at the front desk to the waiter. We were greeted very cold and made us feel that if we din't have reservations , then we were not body- fortunately we had reservations The waiter had an attitude , slightly snobbish and forgot to bring us our wine with the meal, then when reminded he didn't remember what kind of wine we ordered- all because he didn't write it down, his attitude was - i wont dare write any thing these customers say, I am too good for this people.."

"So let me start by saying the food and service are excellent....among the best in Miami. The prices however are very high for the portions served. As long as you know going in that is the most expensive place in Miami Beach then you are fine...otherwise a shocker. The food: best Maryland Style crab cake outside of Baltimore...period; and swordfish prepared like the best from my childhood in Boston....superb service.....we will be back (just have to expand the line of credit at the bank)."

"The waiter who severed us had a bad attitude he did not know the exact prices of some of the specials and when they gave me my change after I paid my bill they short changed by 10.00 when I called it to their attention the waiter came over and out five singles and left the table before I was able to count my change again which was still 5.00 short The waiter who on us is the one who has a splint on his index finger. He should be fired before he and is partner puts this restaurant out of business"

"We were very excited for our reservation because we had been to the Vegas location and loved it. We werent as pleased in Miami. We felt rushed by the servers, they kept asking us if we were done with each course and clearing plates. Also, didnt feel the food was as good as the Vegas location."

"The ambiance and decor was just what I like and what I expect for a high end SoBe restaurant. The service was outstanding from the host to our server Elie. He was very attentive to our needs and wants and very knowledgeable about the wines and menu items."

"I was very disappointed that on the day of our dinner our favorite fish - fish on salt - wasn't available. we drove all the way from fort Lauderdale for this fish. We decided to order lobster instead and the smallest lobster they had available was 5.8 lbs. - too big for 2 people. We ordered it anyway and it was pretty good. The service was very, very slow until another server came to help out. Our first server didn't tell us about the specials and what the best options would be for that day as the server for the table net to us did. The second server was very attentive. I hope next time we go back the fish on salt is available."

"The fish dishes are truly outstanding. The staff give great guidance in picking gorgeous fresh fish displayed on a bank of ice. We picked one that was transformed into one of the most outstanding sashimi plates I've ever enjoyed. Service was slow. One of our dishes had cooled to room temperature by the time it came to the table. The wine list is surprisingly weak. If you are ordering by the glass, the selection is truly sad. By the bottle, the lower priced wines (under $80) are variable- we sampled two before arriving at one we thought decent."

"Overall we had higher hopes for Milos after reading about it and since it was recommended by a friend. The hostesses seemed completely confused and out of it - one kept walking around taking notes on where people were at in their meals. Since I had cancelled a previous open table reservation directly w/ the restaurant and they dinged me on opentable for a no-show, now I understand why. Food and service, all just so-so and definitely not worth the $540 pricetag (for two people including a $165 bottle of wine). The $32 appetizer of greek dips was incredibly overpriced and they did not have the consistency or taste of something homemade. Our fish was fresh and moist in salt crust but not worth the price. Would not recommend/will not return."

"The food was delicious but.....absurdly pricey. Their labels on each fish on ice seems deliberately misleading. Each fish on the ice was labeled but no where did we see that it was PER POUND. If it was labeled It was conspicuously tiny. There is no fish in this world worth $150 or more! We will not return."

"Though it is overpriced, the food and service are fantastic. Save it for a special occasion and when you feel like splurging! Definitely start off with their fried zucchini chips. For our entree, we selected a fish from their "onsite fish market" and had it grilled. It was very fresh (again, overpriced but good). Their wine selection was also very nice."

"The atmosphere at Milos is wonderful: from the high ceilings with exposed ducts and modern track lighting to the beautiful wood beams, the artfully displayed wine bottles to the white linens, flowing curtains and marble floors, everything was beautiful in the perfect light cast by the translucent globe pendant lights.
The food was AMAZING, I wish I could've ordered everything on the menu. The tuna tartare was so fresh and light, and I used the lightly fried zucchini and eggplant special to scoop up every last bit of the Mediterranean spreads, which truly exceeded my expectations. The whole, fresh Branzino was better than any I've ever had. I hope I get back to South Beach one day to eat at this restaurant again. I highly recommend it."
