Latitude 41 Reviews List

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"4 of us had dinner on Saturday night. It was a fantastic evening. All of our food was very good. We enjoyed their flat breads, the mac & cheese with lobster and each tried a different entree. Our service was outstanding. Christine, our server, was very professional and took great care of us. The setting is beautiful. The general manager and chef also stopped by the table to check on us. Great customer service. A hidden gem in the city. Will definitely be back to enjoy again and will tell others about our great experience."

Review 3 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"At first, I looked at the new menu and did not see anything that excited me. There was no and I am a huge fish-eater. We were told that the chef is picky about his fish selections and would only serve if he could find the best quality. I ordered the roasted chicken and it was FANTASTIC! The soup was delicious as were the other dishes (Lobster Mac and Cheese) ordered at our table. Give Latitude a chance...it is a gem!"

Review 4 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 1.0 out of 5 (Poor)
"Honestly, I won't eat here again. My medium burger was overcooked (it came to me well done). I would have sent it back if it hadn't taken forever for us to get anything. We had a group of 5 people and service was horrible. Everything was very slow. Then they couldn't event manage to bring out all of the food together. It took about 10 minutes for all 5 of us to get our meals and side dishes. We also managed to leave the restaurant and pass 4 people and no one said a word to us. For the prices I expected a much better experience."

Review 5 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"Read about Latitude 41 in a recent issue of the Air Tran magazine and was anxious to try it. My husband and I enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. We selected a four course meal with wine tastings for each. Loved the lobster mac and cheese! Looking forward to going back again soon! Telling all our friends about this marvelous find!"

Review 8 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"I found Latitude 41 to be a good restaurant for the price. However, I think the website needs some updating as I learned from the waitress they no longer update their menu daily. It appears that costs are driving the menu selections. Of particular note was the fact they no longer serve a complimentary bread basket. If you would like one, you must pay about $4.00. I was told that this is to keep overall costs down as they were throwing a lot of bread away at the end of the evening.

I ordered the pear salad, which was a good portion and had a unique candy brittle included. I enjoyed it well enough. I then ordered the lobster mac n cheese which was a small plate but had huge chunks of lobster! Very good! Overall, a good meal.

Review 11 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"We've been to Latitude 41 several times now and this was my least favorite visit so far. Everything was very edible, but there was a distinct lack of flavor. Everything seemed kind of bland. Our server however was very attentive and the free champagne and chocolates at the end of the dinner was a nice touch."

Review 14 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"The restaurant is very beautiful and with $3 valet parking, getting there is not a problem. The service was friendly, but a bit slow. We had a 6:15 reservation & didn't leave the restaurant until almost 8:30, with most of the lag time coming waiting for someone to take our order & waiting on desert. The food somewhat hit & miss, but very affordable - so we didn't feel so bad for taking a chance. I also liked that they had a menu with two entree sections, a section for smaller entrees & one for larger entrees. The "S'mores" desert was phenomenal! We went on Valentine's Day & were given a complementary champagne toast & a small box of two pieces of Godiva chocolate. Dinner with an appetizer & desert & with tip cost us only $65.00."

Review 17 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"I have enjoyed Latitude 41 and Chef Dean James Max's other restaurants in Cleveland and Fort Lauderdale. Columbus has a real gem here with exceptionally fresh, highest quality ingredients and a flair for unique combinations. I especially enjoyed a Celery root and Apple soup. Not quite knowing what to expect the flavors played off each other and resulted in a delightful first course. I have had the opportunity to meet Chef MacLennan and was impressed with his desire to ensure his guests are well taken care of in the restaurant. Thank you and I recommend Latitude 41 to any one who wants a wodnerful culinary expereince at an unbelievably reasonable price. A true gem."

Review 19 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"We've been to Latitude 41 several times but were disappaointed to find out this week that they've changed the menu. No more Sliders!! Are you kidding me? Those were one of the best things they offered for lunch. I must say that my house salad was very good but the burger I ended up settling on was fair. Don't think we'll be going back anytime soon. It was one of our favorite places to take out of towners for a business lunch."

Review 21 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 5.0 out of 5 (Outstanding)
"I was pleasantly surprised. My daughter bought my husband and i a gift certificate for lattitude 41 for christmas and we used it for valentines day. What a GEM! The food was great it was like an explosion of flavors. From the artesain flatbread appetizer we shared to the must have lobster mac & cheese which had large peices of lobster that was cooked to perfection to our main entrees. My husband enjoyed his beef tenderloin that melted in your mouth, (I know i ate off of my plate and his) lol and my seafood pasta, which had long wide freshly made pasta in it. We decided to have a dessert, it was wonderful, cherry bread pudding and smores which was choc. ganache with marshmallow both desserts where amazing. Mortons has nothing on this place!!"

Review 25 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"Our overall experience was mediocre at best. I was very excited to try Lattitude 41, as I had heard such good things about it. We had the following experiences: table service was very slow. Our meal lasted approximately 3 hours, and drinks and dishes were not presented in a timely fashion. Our server was not appropriately attentive, and actually tried to dissuade us from ordering the Chef's tasting menu. The first two courses were not served hot, as they should have been. The choices for the tasting menu were odd - a rather uninteresting bean and chicken soup, followed by two pasta dishes (which were both delicious). Overall, I expected much better service, more interesting food, and hot food from this restaurant. I will return, though."

"I was very impressed with Latitude 41. It had a modern feel but still appropriate for special occasions. The food was also very unique. Review 31 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 3.0 out of 5 (Good)
"This restaurant was a huge disappointment. The atmosphere was great with cool tables and large windows but the service was slow and lackadaisical. We ordered Pappardelle, Baked Cod and Duck breast. We waited a full 45 minutes for our food; the excuse being the duck breast had to rest. It may have rested but when the cod was totally over-cooked and the brussel sprout hash it was served with was burned, hard and crunchy. Terrible. The Pappardelle was bland, uninspired and cold when it was served. The duck was prepared correctly but was bland with not much taste. The flatbread appetizer was excellent showing how good their food could be."

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"Very unimpressed w/ Latitude 41. Restaurant was empty on a Friday at 7:00. After eating, we understood why. First, they brought out complimentary flatbread, which was very bland. It came with dipping sauces. One tasted like grass and the other was just weird. We both got soup as a starter, and both were average at best. Lobster bisque was runny and bland w/o a single piece of lobster in it. For our meals, we ordered the lobster mac'n'cheese and the braised beef. The first tasted like Velveeta mac'n'cheese with a few chunks of lobster meat in it. The second was very fatty, came with weird sauce, and what we thought looked like mashed potatoes but turned out to be maybe grits?? It was awful. Overall, we will not be returning."

Review 36 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 1.0 out of 5 (Poor)
"2nd time visiting and was VERY disappointed. Had done the chef's tasting menu with wine matches previously so I was used to the fixed menu for New Years Eve. First course was brought before cocktails were finished though I had specifically asked to order a bottle of wine to go with dinner. Wanted to order a bottle of one of the glass pours and they were out. Salads were uneven with one with small amounts of some ingredients and the other with lots. Scallops were well cooked but the rest of the dish was poor. Beef dish was overcooked and dry. Desert arrived after all silver ware was cleared and not replaced, when silverware was requested knives and forks were provided. Felt rushed all evening, servers attitude was poor. Not sure I'll be back"

Review 37 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 4.0 out of 5 (Very Good)
"The food was fantastic. We were there for New Year's, and the fixed menu was varied enough for both my wife and myself. Their wine list had a good cross-section of wines for most palates. However, the service left a little to be desired. Our waiter was not very knowledgeable about the menu. This was surprising, considering the small fixed menu. My was a little taken aback that he almost ignored her. He took my order first every time, she was an afterthought. He did make up for it by upgrading our wine when the one I ordered was out. Overall, a great experience. The waiter was more of a nuisance than anything. We will be back."

Review 38 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"Was there for the fixed price New Years Eve dinner. Service was unpolished. When asked about the bread other tables were receiving the answer was, 'That's complimentary flat, oh, did you want some?'

Knowledge of the wine list was lacking. Couldn't describe the menu items much better than the brief menu description.

The food was acceptable, but not fantastic. The lobster bisque, particularly, was thin and lacking in taste. The apple tart with cinnamon ice cream was very good.

I won't be back.

"Holiday lunch for 4 on a busy Saturday -interesting and appealing menu, beautiful presentation of food that excited and satisfied our senses. The BLT sliders were amazing, the curried chicken salad and the fabulous Japanese squash soup were scrumptious. Th service was perfect. The entire experience was worth "crowing" about!"

Review 40 for Latitude 41

Overall Rating 2.0 out of 5 (Fair)
"The menu shows promise though the starters are a bit lazy, all of them being a "flatbread". The crispy pork version was ho hum, and without the promised carmelized onions and flavor. Hoping course two would reverse my opinions, we went with the soups of the day. My wifes had the signs of being held too long at a high temperature (Tuscan Chicken and White Bean?), and mine (Kubocha Squash) had the flavor of canned pumpkin mix; No savory elements at all. Short Ribs we're the only well produced item of the night. My roasted duck breast could have been a saving grace, had the cook let the breast rest before slicing; it bled all over the plate. More than two servers or attendants would be helpful. Sloppy execution on a light volume Saturday."
