"We had previously visited this restaurant with friends after a tour of the USS Iowa. The food was delicious during the week. We returned for a lunch for Father's Day. The restaurant was extremely busy that day, but our food arrived promptly and the service was excellent. Loved listening to the Caribbean music as we enjoyed the breeze and sunshine on the patio. Would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone."

"We decided around 4 to have dinner at Gladstones so made the reservation through open table. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time and we got out table within 5 minutes from arrival. We had a perfect table outside with the view of the Queen mary and Long Beach Harbor. Food was really good as usual. The clam chowder is excellant."

"If you are going to the Long Beach aquarium and want a good seafood restaurant with a large menu- this is the place for you! Great service- healthy selections. Fish good - although the seared ahi tuna sashimi grade was not as fresh or "ruby" red as I've head in other places, but it was good for the price - the staff was so nice and made all my picky food changes perfect to order. Great bread to start off meal - nice and warm. Skip dinner salad - not that good."

"Service was great,it should be we went at a very slow time. The menu has changed, was not too excited, I was wishing we could get up and go somewhere else. The crab cake appetizers were overpriced at 18 bucks for 3 soggy cakes- disappointed! The fish and chips were so greasy they were dripping grease. I know it is fried fish but really?"

"Reservations were for my daughters 18th birthday. When we arrived, no mention of this,and tried to put us at a table with no view, even though many seats open with views. Food was so so, my husbands meal came 10 minutes after ours, with no apology. For my daughters birthday she was given cotton candy, really? A $200 bill and we receive cotton candy? Been to many restaurants for special occassions and were treated very well. Very Very disappointed, wont go back even with the beautiful views."

"I loved gladstone's had a nice view of the water. But on mothers day where we sat kids behind us making noise and to the left of us babys crying. Other that that I loved the scallops they were good. My daughter had mac and cheese so much she had to take it home, my husband had the chicken he finished it all.The soup was out of this world."

"I decided to take my family (6) to Gladstonestake for lunch on May 11. I have been there before and I absolutely loved it and thought it would be a great idea to go again. Lets just say that i will never go back. The hostess was absolutely terrible. Not friendly. I had reservations at 1:30pm and requested outside seating. Once I arrived the hostess informed me that outside seating was not guaranteed but if i liked i could wait and extra 20 minutes. It was 2:00pm and I was still wating. I asked the hostess how much longer. She gave me an attitude and said " you are a party of six not sure how much longer". She was not helpful at all and was very rude to me and my family. I spent over $200 that I wished I had spent it elsewhere."

"I've eaten here before and had high expectations. The dinner rush seemed to overwhelm the operation. Started with being seated 20 minutes past our reservation time, while they continued to seat walk ins. Service was inconsistent. Timing from drinks to bread to starters to entree was not smooth with long wait for entrees. Dishes weren't cleared and stacked up. One couple were seated but it seems no waiter had the table. Eventually the manager waited personally on the table. The fish was a bit over cooked and dry. The live music was great. It was a warm beach day and we weren't in a hurry so all of this was tolerable. We'll go back, but not rush to do do."

"My husband and I had a delicious dinner and a pleasurable dinning experience. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. It was Happy Hour all day Friday! We were seated right away in a booth by the window. The service was excellent. The fish was delicious. I was able to choose how it was prepared and what sauce I wanted. They didn't rush us and let us have a leisurely paced dinner. We recommend Gladstone's and we will be back soon."

"I had never been before been there and was expecting so much more. the waitress "uphold" me to Argentina King crab instead of Alaska. They must have had a bunch of it left over from something and where trying to get rid of it. I heard multiple waitress doing the same sells job. It was just an ok evening. It was kids eat free night with no management willing to suggest to parents they not let their kids running around the restaurant like. probably mu fault for not reading the sign on the way in. I am not sure i will go back."

"the server wasnt trained enough. SHe kept forgetting things we requested n we had to repeat ourselves. Expected to see special foil wraps at the very end for left over food, but she didnt want to do it with an excuse of food greasiness. Well, the reason we were there because i wanted to show my friend their cute little special wrap. She ended up wrapping our chocolate cake with a big face wen we insisted we didnt care how messy the food turned out at home, cuz we just wanted to see the work.

"Great place for a great view and outdoor dining. The service is always great. The view is lovely. Parking is convenient. The food was exceptional for my two guests (they both ordered fish). I ordered corned beef because it was St. Patrick's Day. The potatoes and cabbage were good but the corned beef was quite salty and not tasty. I have some leftover in the 'fridge and I don't think I will finish it. Next time I go, I will stick to ordering the fish which they excel. My husband's three-fish entree was exceptional."

"We had a nice seafood meal at Gladstone's. Choose to eat on the patio even though it was 60ish at 8:00pm. Glad we did. Wonderful ambiance watching the waterfront area. California roll and oysters were very good. Salmon sausage was very interesting and tasty."

"Had a halibut dish that was touted to be most popular and found it to be very greasy and didn't taste very good. My husband had a seafood combo plate and found it to be just OK. SO over priced for quality and quantity. Our waiter was sub-par as well. He actually stopped taking our order for a moment to look at the rear-end of a female customer that passed in his field of vision. Will never go back."

"The problem with this restaurant is the price for what you get. They have upscale prices, without upscale food. The food was average at best. Also, every plate served had the exact same "sides", no selection, no creativity. It wasn't just our table, but I noticed this throughout.
This would be a good restaurant if the food cost 30-50% less."

"Other than the food Gladstone's is great! Sad thing is that ultimately it's about the food. We came to enjoy King Crab legs specifically. I've had them at the Malibu location on a previous valentines day and they were great. This was the first time to the Long Beach location. Crab legs were, well, less than succulent. Some bites even tasted just a bit fishy hinting at a lack of freshness. The service was good and a table overlooking the water was really nice so the evening was still a good one. I just failed to impress my date with knowledge of the best spot to get crab legs."
