"French, the way you remember it -- warm, personal service, menu workhorses beautifully prepared and served, comfortable seating and quiet enough to hear your tablemates without straining. In short, an adult dining experience at a very reasonable price."

"This is an old-time family run, friendly French neighborhood restaurant that is both reliable and excellent. Extremely friendly service with a real team effort. We hadn't been there in a number of years and didn't know why. The food is consistently good and well-prepared with a traditional French menu. We will be back, and with friends!"

"Great food, beautiful atmosphere and exceptional service. What more could you want for a lovely evening. You can even hear what your friends are saying, even though the restaurant was full. A great evening out."

"From a simple, fresh salad with dressing with just the right "bite" to the roast duck to the coupe aux marron for dessert, the meal was wonderful. As always the service was attentive but not intrusive, and you can linger over a course if you wish. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with great French fare -- exactly the kind of experience I want on a Sunday evening!"

"Old-fashioned french, in a good way: standards, meticulously cooked; front-of-house staff friendly and professional. Excellent half-bottle of wine, approachably priced. We will go back."

"This was my fist visit to la Mirabelle, and it was a wonderful surprise. Close to home, perfect artichauts vinaigrette, ris de veau and broiled fish. Although we declined, the desserts looked luscious! AND they are actually french-speaking, so I could pretend I remembered my long-lapsed French. It was a lovely dining experience with my adult daughter, who is newly arrived in NYC."

"We had dinner at La Mirabelle after seeing a Broadway Show. It is a bit more relaxing to have dinner outside the busy, noisy theater district. We were a party of four and were seated in the upstairs area of the restaurant. As we had reservations we were seated promptly and quickly attended to by the wait staff. We did briefly meet an owner, a nice enough lady who only said she was an owner when asked. She was either not interested in meeting us or was too busy. The food was outstanding, two of the party had menu items that were new to us and enjoyed them greatly. The wait staff was excellent, they were highly attentive without being overbearing. We will visit this restaurant again and highly recommend it to others."

"La Mirabelle is a great local spot here on the UWS. On the surface, it looks like a random european hole in the wall. But its not a detraction at all, rather, it gives it a cozy, homey kind of charm. Food was excellent."

"We have returned to this restaurant several times. The staff is welcoming and the service is always pleasant. There is a good wine list and the menu has good food choices. We think the food preparation and presentation is very good. We find this little piece of France a comfortable place to dine and converse with friends."

"The menu is classic French and everything was well prepared. We had the duck confit, monkfish in lobster sauce, a good St Emillion by the glass, and an apple crepe with ice cream for dessert. Wonderful. The staff are welcoming and efficient, many French speakers and waitresses who sing on occasion. In that sense it's great fun. The decor is a bit dowdy and the crowd is half elderly and half very young, a funny mix. Perhaps dimming the lights would help even things out?"

"The food was really awful which was disappointing. Our waitress was very sweet but that couldn't make up for the bad food. My steak was fatty, the frites over-fried and the vegetables limp. My husband's fish was swimming in butter with no seasonings to speak of."

"Our evening at La Mirabelle was a delightful dining experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, the food was outstanding, the highlights of which were an award winning mussels muenier and generous glasses of wine. The service was impeccable as well. What more can one ask?"

"The restaurant has a loyal clientele. The bright room is suited for the older crowd (reading menus, etc.) but the service is very good and experienced. The prices are appropriate and the food is good."

"Had avoided the restaurant for a few years, thinking it was "old and stuffy". She is a grand dame, if there ever was one, but there was a nice crowd, a great vibe and wonderful classic French food. Don't make the mistake that I did....eat here!"
