Divine. Ethereal. Sinfully delicious. Trinity Restaurant, located in downtown historic Keyport, New Jersey, has been tempting the palates of saints and sinners since opening in June 2007.
"This is one of the area restaurants I turn to for special occasions. The restaurant is located inside a converted church, which is quite charming, the food is good and the wait staff is always attentive. What more could you ask for? We went there for Mother's Day and had a wonderful dinner. Because of the holiday, there was a pre fix menu, 3 courses for $30 per person. There was a nice variety on the menu for appetizer, salad and entree. Dessert and coffee was a nominal charge above the pp charge. I had the flat steak. It was done just right and was flavorful and tender. For the appetizer, I had clams and mussels in a delicious broth and a spinach salad that was fresh and delicious. All in all a wonderful meal."

"Trinity has the ingredients to be a special place, but there's work to be done. Set in what used to be a church, the restaurant with adjustments could be quite special. But at the moment, it's not. Indeed, on the quiet evening when we there, it was depressing. Between the lighting and the drab colors of the tablecloths, it presents a heavy feeling. The food presentation has an aura of trying too hard to be creative. Definitely needs to be simplified. We had no qualms about the service. With a brightening/freshening of the ambiance and sharper focus on the cuisine, Trinity may hit the mark. Until then, it's an OK that could rise above the crowd if efforts were made to address the shortfalls."

"Place was beautiful and the company was fun---we had a great time. Unfortunately, absolutely zero vegetarian entrees, and the Chicken Milanese was bland. I loved how beautiful the church/restaurant was and took some great photos. However, I won't be eating there again. Our server was named Christian (appropriately) and he was fantastic. We were in the third floor room and there was just one table set up there which was really private and unique. He was knowledgable and very attentive, despite having to climb all those steps each time he brought out our food! The menu boasted 'Gluten Free' entrees, but really---couldn't they have some vegetarian?"

"Trinity participated in The Shore Restaurant week promotion and offered an intriquing menu that for the price seemed a great value. The food was very good and presented artfully and mostly in good portions especially the entrees. Our gaucho steaks were winners and cooked perfectly. The chicken milanese was another overdsized plate. Starters while very good were meager with only two scallops on one order and two asparagus on another starter. Id suggest going with their hummus which was excellent and proper sized. Restaurants if participating in Shore Rest Wk need to rethink their menu to find a balance on the size of their plating versus making a profit.Service was an issue and I spoke to the owner- manager about it afterward."

"I haven't been here in 3 years. 3 years ago it was awesome. Last night was awful. The food was blah and not good. Much like a chain instead of what I remember (different and delicious and gourmet). The service was horrible. The server was not professional at all. The worst and most rude thing was they kicked us out at 9;15 on a Friday night. They rushed us so much and kept trying to clear plates we were still eating. Then the server made dessert sound unappetizing- she tried to talk us out of ordering it. We foolishly did order and then as soon as we paid, she came over and told us we needed to leave. 9:15 shouldn't be closing a restaurant with a bar on a Friday night. I will never go back :("

"The ambiance, food and service are all excellent. The restaurant is unique in that it's housed in a former church. Interesting variety of dishes, great martini menu."
