"We have been going to The Keg for more than 30 years, and if we want a quick steak, no muss or fuss, we can always depend on this restaurant to deliver. Nice view of Victoria's Inner Harbour, friendly and efficient server, and a nice steak. Wine selection a bit limited, but you can find something that will do the trick."

"We were very pleased overall. Clayton our waiter reached out to be sure our dinner was everything to be expected. Service was prompt and polite. Considering the number of guests, the kitchen produced our meals cooked perfectly and reasonably quickly. I am pleased to recommend The Keg; I do suggest reservations - you can use Open Table App on your iPhone."

"From the phone call through to the bill payment, the staff were always attentive. They were flexible and helpful when it came to customizing dishes, and the steak was really very good. Had the fillet mignon medium-rare. Importantly they gave garden salad instead of Ceasar or 'wedge salad', and the portion of vegetables was generous - an important factor of a really good meal."

"From start to finish we had excellent service. The steak and lobster that we had was perfect. It wasn't a busy night so we got a great seat up stairs by a window with a view over looking the harbor. I would absolutely come back again when I'm in town."

"The food was very good....as expected for the Keg as we have eaten there often over the years. The service was awful. This was NOT the servers fault. It appeared that they were very understaffed. I'm not usually a picky customer, but I've never waited so long with all four of our plates long-finished before the server had time to come and get them. There were, however, four hostesses at the door to greet us when we got there.....???? Strange."

"I was a bit disappointed when we arrived 17 minutes late and was told by a very uncaring person that our table was given away; unknown to me, their grace period is only 15 minutes, new to Victoria, we had trouble finding the place and parking. Couldn't they call us? I let the phone #. I had requested an upstairs table by the window on the water side, we were given a small table on the side street. The service was excellent and so was the food, so that made up for the unfriendly front of the house staff! We were luckier than some patrons, as two or three families brought very small children and I felt sorry for the people paying a lot for dinner to listen to children yelling, crying and banging things on the table,"

"Very slow service, waiter was very nice seemed like kitchen staff was not experienced. Reason given for waiting 1 hour for dinner was the kitchen was very busy. When we were served our main course dishes one arrived when everyone was half finished theirs no real reason given for missed timing. Vegetables were hot and meat was barely warm. Either mismanaged staff levels that night or staff was incompetent. Too many good restaurants in Victoria to go back. Sorry."

"We really like the Keg, but every time we come, it's always soooo loud. When I made the reservation, I specifically asked to be seated on the first level, because it's always louder upstairs, but we were seated upstairs anyway. It ended up being okay though because we had a window seat with a view of the Parliament building. It was very nice, but again, very loud. I think the noise is really unfortunate and if it wasn't so loud, I think we'd come to the Keg more often. Noise aside, the food was fantastic, the ambiance is romantic and the service is quick."

"We usually love the Keg, however this experience was not great. It was our first time at the fort street location and we will not be back.
The atmosphere was loud, very loud and we sat in the upstairs level which was cramped and left alot to be desired in the way of ambience.
The service was slow and it took quite awhile for our food to arrive
and when the food did come it was not all together. I had to ask the server four times for the wine menu and it was just a noisy unorganized experience. The prime rib dish was delivered with no au gus and every meal was delivered at a different time. I do not recommend this Keg location as we were all very disappointed..."

"As Keg restaurants go, this was a typical visit. The server was inexperienced but energetic and helpful. The food was a fixed price 3 course meal that had something for every type of taste. The food quality was good to very good. The portion sizes were substantial for the price charged and the cost of the meal was very reasonable given the fact it was Valentine's day and most restaurants mark up their dishes on this day. This restaurant will never be considered a "foodie" landmark, but it is a good meal at a fair price. We will be back."

"Hadn't been to the Keg for years. The food was just as terrific as it has always been except that the lobster was a little tough. Our table had a pepper shaker but no salt, we had to ask for the butter dipping sauce for the lobster and the mushrooms that my partner ordered with his steak did not come until he asked for them again as well. Great salad, amazing garlic cheese bread, very good Billy Miner pie for dessert. The minor issues didn't really detract from the experience (well, except that I probably won't order lobster again). Service was amiable and problems were resolved quickly. We will definitely come back."

"For a steak restaurant, The Keg also does an excellent job on seafood - we were there for Valentine's Day and the place was full, the restaurant had all available staff on and still the kitchen had a hard time keeping up; our server warned us the service would be a little slow and that there was nothing he could do about it. Nonetheless, the baked black cod melted in the mouth, the mixed vegetables were perfectly done with some tender-crisp and some roasted just right, and the starter (baked brie with crostini) was delicious. "I would say that the service, while prompt, was borderline shoving us out the door as we ordered dessert. While I realize that it was Valentine's Day and a busy evening, other than the man I was there with, there was nothing else that made this meal memorable or all that enjoyable. The lettuce in my boyfriend's salad was looking pretty sad and brown, our steaks were alright, but there was no love put into the food. For the $100.00 cost for two people (no alcohol), we should have left with a better feeling than if we just were served a bunch of reheated M&M's Meats products.
Overall, what should have been a nice evening was expensive, rushed, and gastronomically unfulfilling. We will dine elsewhere in the future."
