Tutti Matti serves traditional, authentic Tuscan cuisine, prepared using only fresh seasonal ingredients. Everything is made in house, including our fresh breads and pastas. Some dishes are permanent productions of our kitchen — gnudi, pinci, papardelle, tagliatelle. Others are more seasonal, like stuffed zucchini flowers in the summers and polpetta and hearty soups in the winter. From day one, we have served venison, wild boar, fennel pork sausage and we love to produce delectable trays of antipasto, which change seasonally and daily (sometimes even mid‐service!) Discover a great list of Italian wines, carefully selected to match the flavours and spirit of Tuscan food. Tutti Matti has been hailed by critics and received both local and national awards, including the prestigious 2009 "L'Eccio D'Oro" for Osteria of the Year (an award previously won by Mario Batali and Alain Ducasse). Located downtown Toronto, steps from the Theatre / Entertainment districts.
"The food is standard. Great services overall by the staff. One of the bar tenders were wiping glasses with perfection, he actually looks out for water spots and cleans it with a cloth. These detailness only happens in 5 star restaurant, and this one is not suppose to be a $$$$$ restaurant. The fact that they service like a 5 star restaurant is great."

"The prix fixe lunch is excellent value, and features items also available a la carte. Service is embarassingly good. The customer is always right, even when they aren't. If you have a difficult person on your list of social obligations, this is the place to take him/her...The menu exploits seasonal food and ethnic specialties -e.g. think baby artichokes in May/June."

"I have been many times in the 3 years since I found this amazing restaurant and the food and service have never changed. Still amazing and prob the best resto in Toronto IMO - my spouse have worked our way down Joanne Kate's best of Toronto list and this resto is hands down our fave."

"I took my mom there for a belated mother's day lunch. Everything we ordered: Proscuitto & Pear app, Short Rig, Brisket Pappardelle, Bucio cake, and the Lemon Tart - all were amazing! The wine list is interesting and offers more than your typical Italian wine regions/grapes. I had hoped for maybe one or two more selections by the glass. The dessert wine list was great.
My only complaint was that our server wasn't all that engaging. She brought us our food and was attentive, but I think she is accustomed to dealing with business people at lunch who typically aren't up for conversation, as opposed to leisure daytime diners. As it was our first time, I was hoping she'd offer up some recommendations or at least a courtesy smile..."

"Tutti Matti is one of my favourite restuarants in Toronto. Everyone is very friendly, especially the chef who speaks to most people. The food is excellent with a strong Tuscan theme. The chef spends good amounts of time in Tuscany each year. She really knows her stuff. While the restaurant is small, I have never had a problem getting a reservation."

"Food and service were excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Pasta is homemade and portions are large. Prices are a bit on the high side - for example the torta alla nonna (homemade) dessert was $11. Papardelle with braised beef was $21. Attentive service."

"Having recently returned from 4 months living in Florence I was sorely missing the delightful cucina. Tutti Matti perfectly captures the freshness and clarity of tuscan dining. Every course was perfectly designed and we will most certainly return. The house wine, La Sarta, which has been custom bottled and imported by the owner, was complex and delightful. Really fabulous dining."

"Excellent food. REally every morsel was perfect. The only problem is the noise level on a busy night. Not the place for a business meeting on Friday or Saturday but otherwise it is a destination for foodies who are full of energy to celebrate the good things in life i.e food, wine and friends."

"this spot is a quiet overachiever! None of the dishes our party of 6 ordered were less than wonderful. fresh, original flavor combinations, delicious, light homemade pastas....you will want to order several things....but you will need to come back to do so! The owner is there most evenings and is also the delightful chef who is the hard working genius behind the operation. Prinicpessa salad is not to be missed. To die for short ribs and delightful specials. The lemon pine nut tarte is a must for dessert. Go! you won't be sorry."

"The dishes are creative and complex without being too fussy. A simple crostone delights the taste buds as a shared starter and it gets even better from there. The wine list is a bit pricey, but their own cocktails are reasonably proceed and a treat. Service was warm and friendly, but no one offered to hang up our coats and there was no obvious place to put them. All in all, I can't wait to go back again."

"There was an astounding wait of about 45 minutes between appetizer and main course. The waitress poured out our first bottle of wine and then seemed miffed that we didn't order a second (while waiting for dinner). We ordered one dessert and were told that it would take 15 minutes since it needed to be heated up. So we ordered another, which could have been delivered right away, and it took longer! The food and wine were good, especially the salad and pasta, but the attitude was unpleasant."

"We had an excellent meal at Tutti Matti. It was our first visit and we all declared that we would return. We shared one of their 'a la famiglia' items - fritto misto: vegetables including artichoke, asparagus and Brussels sprouts fried in a crispy light batter with a very tasty sweet condiment that included watermelon. Could have been more of that! Our pastas mains were all delicious,,,,,,,excellent pasta with rich flavourful sauces. The best I have had since Italy! A few glasses of a crisp Pinot Grigio and a lovely bottle of Chianti from their modest list and all was 'tutto bene'! Staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive. We shall return!"

"We went to Tutti Matti for the second time in 2 weeks. The food has been great and the Service on Saturday was tremendous. Our waiter, Brian, was as passionate about the food as the chef is in prparing things. We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal and made another booking on leaving."

"During my recent search for a restaurant in that part of town, I was reminded of Tutti Matti by the very favourable review given by Joanne Kates in her 2012/13 top 100 list. I made a reservation for myself and a friend and was really looking forward to it. Alas,I regret to say that I was really disappointed.
Service was generally competent and what one would expect. The food was lacklustre, i.e. extremely ordinary - especially considering the prices! We each ordered a different salad. They were no better than what one could order in any middling establishment. The dressing was markedly tasteless. Our respective pasta orders were the same. Markedly uninspired. As someone very familiar with Italy and Tuscany, I would not recommend T"

"The food was authentic, fresh and amazing. One of the best Italian meals we have had in North America. The service was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and they all worked well as a team, insuring that we were well taken care of.
We are in town for a few days, and booked another night at Tutti Matti - can't wait!"

"This is resto near our condo. Been going for years...but...probably not any more. Why? The menu is not exciting. The apps are very very $$$$. And not a salad to be found. Sure it is Tuscan, but it is TO. The pasta mains were under "meated" and some noodles cold. The Butoni Beer was misquoted pricewise...told $9, charged $12. Overall I am sorry that we won't go back."

"We discovered Tutti Matti when living in the neighbourhood and even though we've moved a distance away we continue to go here to celebrate special occasions or just when we are looking for a really great, heartwarming, and delicious meal. If you're a fan of Tuscan, delicious food, and/or intimate dining experiences Tutti Matti will not disappoint. Almost every time we go we think we've decided what we want from the menu and then hear the specials and change our minds."
