"I LOVE ACERO! I had been to Acero once before, and I returned when my family came to visit. The restaurant has a 4 course tasting menu that starts at $30, and there is also an a la cart menu as well. My family ordered from the a la cart menu.
The egg raviolo was absolutely incredible. Rich and creamy cheese mixture topped with an egg yolk. This is hands down my favorite item on the menu.
Gnocco fritto: fried dough/pastry with ham on top. I was not sure what to think of this before I tasted it, but it was savory and light. I recommend this as well.
The service here was fantastic. We never had an empty water glass on the table, and our waiter was attentive and helpful."

"Love the fixed price menu four course dinner. Everyone got something different and we all thought our food was fantastic. The server didn't know his wines or beers well enough to describe to the table, but other than that experience and service was great. Would highly recommend."

"We weren't sure what to expect since we hadn't been there before and just picked because of all the great reviews. We were pleasantly surprised by the ambience and the menu. You could order from one side and get a taste of several things or pay the same amount for an item on the other side of menu for just the main meal. Food was excellent from start to finish."

"Great food, and good options for trying a variety of their offerings is available by doing the $30 four course tasting menu. I love the egg raviolo, and the wine list is full of great Italians. The service was quick and attentive, recovering nicely from the somewhat surly hostess who must have been having a rough night. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly."

"We were kept waiting about 30 minutes past our reservation to be seated and then put in the back next to a very large party (tables pushed together but no noise barrier), it was very loud and unpleasant and the service was slow. There were tables in the front that were open and we had requested to be seated there instead, the woman doing the seating was not very pleasant. We have eaten there several times in the past and always like the food, this was our first bad experience."

"Both of my dining experiences at Acero have been wonderful. The food is delicious! I have had and highly recommend the Mussels, ‘Meat Donuts,’ Egg Ravioli, Three Cheese Ravioli, Lamb, and Trout. I choose the tasting menu both times and while the base price is reasonable it can get pricey if you stray over to the ala carte menu to pick items like I did. So worth it though. The staff is friendly and attentive with a team spirit. I was looking around for my server and another stopped in her tracks and asked if she could help. After taking the empty dishes to the kitchen from her own table she came back immediately with the fresh pepper I requested. I am proud to say I live in and thanks to Acero I can eat well in Maplewood."

"First time going, definitely not last time dining. This modern Italian cuisine is a gourmet experience as well as a treat for the taste buds. The menu is a masterpiece and the food is, well you can't call it food, it's more like beautifully prepared nourishment for your senses. The atmosphere is casual and crisply elegant at the same time. It's nice to have innovative preparations as well as delicious traditional Italian fare. The chef is a talent. Now one of our top 5 dining choices in STL."

"Acero is wonderful. Our group of four all enjoyed the four-course tasting menu, some unusual beers and an exceptional wine. The portions are right sized resulting in a tasting menu that leaves you satisfied, not hungry. There is a wide variety of options on the tasting menu so you can pick and choose what you'd like. You can also substitute items from the regular menu if there is an item you simply must have. Everyone's food was interesting, perfectly prepared and delicious. Our server was excellent, too, she was professional and had a nice way about her. The price of $30 for all four courses was a delightful bonus resulting in a wonderful evening all around. We will be returning to Acero often."

"Excellent food, not your usual Italian restaurant menu. Wine list is limited to only Italian wines. Ambience is a little casual. View through the front windows is of a downtown corner in Maplewood. Four course menu for $30 is a great value."

"Acero never disappoints! My favorite special occasion dinner destination by far, and the $30 four course tasting menu is a great deal. Don't miss the egg raviolo, mushroom tagliatelle, or chocolate torte!"

"A good local Italian restaurant, but don't expect typical red pastas, more of a twist on Northern Italian dishes. Unique menu items and flavors. Some great, some amiss. Server was very attentive and friendly. Price were moderate. Wines were reasonable. Not like the Hill restaurants, more unusual entres, few pasta. (Which makes it Hard to call this Italian.). A neat spot in Maplewood. Parking can be a real challenge as every party lot screams "YOU WILL BE TOWED". They even say on their door not to part at neighboring lots."

"Less than punctual seating with reservation for 4, limited seating over 2 people. 20 mins in non wait area bar or outside in 30 degree temps. Once seated 10 mins more for wait staff to take drink order. Food was good portions quite small when compared to Italian restaurants on the Hill. Overall disappointed in St. Louis weekend of 2/16 visiting daughters that are resident physicians. We won't go back for a 2nd trh"

"Acero is one of our local go-to spots and is a perfect fit for our belated Valentine date. The food is always excellent and the service is attentive. I had the Mista salad and Egg Raviolo (which I always have here). The special of the day was braised beef cheeks and they were flavorful and tender. My wife had the house salad and tagliatelle and enjoyed them both immensely."

"We frequent Acero because it is designed so that one can easily hear one's dinner companion over the restaurant noise and because they have great food. We usually order the 4 course tasting menu but because we love the homemade pasta(spaghetti and gnudi); sometimes just pasta and a salad."

"We always love Acero! Every dish was amazing; their speciality is, of course, their pasta which was outstanding. Plus, they were very gracious about accommodating our birthday party group, which kept changing size! Thanks, Acero. :)"

"This was our second visit to Acero. We enjoyed both visits and we are out and about a lot, thus our standards tend to be high. We split the 7-9 course offering ($65). We are not big eaters. It was plenty of food for us. The array of courses were interesting and delicious. The wine list gets the job done. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with our meal. The waiter was very outgoing, as were all those employees that brought dishes to our table. We enjoyed our experience. No reservations about recommending it."

"Hey guys, well what can I say... the place was very nice overall! Food was top of the line, the place has a very nice and relaxing vibe. The only small issue I had was with the service, hmmm the guy did take 2 plates from our table before the person was done eating. Maybe they should have said something but it was just in the moment type of thing. Also one of my friends is pregnant and she wanted to make sure the food was cooked well done, we still saw a bit of blood inside. Nothing that could not be fixed in just a few moments. Wine and cheese was Great."
