"I can't complain about the service as we were attended to very quickly and weren't waiting long for our meal. My only issue was that our oysters didn't have nearly as much flavor as those we usually get at wild edibles in New York for the same price so I couldn't recommend wholeheartedly. However, the seared tuna main was perfect."

"We had the best waiter who catered to a multi-generational group. An 85-year old celebrating his birthday received a special dessert and was thrilled. The noise level was a bit too much considering the few patrons around at the time we were there, but the choice of music was good. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we look forward to visiting the restaurant again."

"Pleasant room on canal in Georgetown. Standard seafood fare menu. Portions large, but tasteless. Crab cakes were lukewarm and had no flavor; sea scallops over cooked. Service was not good with us repeatedly needing to wave down someone for water, to take our order, to get drinks. Disappointing evening."

"I do business in Georgetown four times each year. I always try to arrive at Sea Catch for Happy Hour because I am an oyster lover. My most recent visit, my friend and I ordered a dozen each of the oysters they had on special. One was fromVirginia and the other from Oregon; both were fresh, plump and succulent! Management has added a Malbec to their half priced happy hour wines so I was particularly happy, so happy in fact that my friend and I ordered another Two dozen oysters. That's right- 48 oysters altogether. Then, we proceeded to dinner where I had swordfish and my friend had scallops and risotto. When we left the restaurant we were so happy we laughed all the way back to our hotel!"

"My fiance and I have been to Sea Catch twice: once for happy hour on an early Friday evening and once for a Friday lunch with my parents. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere: old stone walls and a nice bar indoors, lovey seating along the canal in Georgetown outdoors. The food is very good: fresh seafood and flavorful dishes (the Manhattan clam chowder was particularly good). Our only complaint is that the service was extremely slow during our lunch. This place is ideal for a special occasion or romantic dinner."

"Friend & I were having massages at the Ritz Georgetown w/ dinner after. We wanted to find dinner close by. By chance open table had noted Sea Catch in the top restaurants in G'town.
Pleasantly surprised to find great fish along the C&O canal. Dining on outdoor deck was perfect as was service. Dessert however was a dissappointment - 1 bite proved awful red velvet cake @ $10. U have a great menu, setting & blow it w/ expensive bad dessert... Happens all the time, unfortunately."

"I have been to Sea Catch many times. The food has always been good and I looked forward to dining there with three guests recently. Unfortunately, the food this time was only good, not great. Maybe it was because it was the beginning of Memorial Day weekend and the chef wasn't there. I won't cross the restaurant off because I've had too many really good experiences, but this one was a disappointment."

"The Mahi Mahi was very good and the Vegetables too. For $29, however, it was not impressive. No starch, the waiter took forever to get us our drinks, did not check to see if we needed more, and eventually just disappeared. When he first came to the table he just said: so have you decided ? "The ad was misleading. waterfront dining? I expected a nice comfortable restaurant with a view. I got a table with a narrow window overlooking a canal. The seats were not comfortable. "The ambience was great, the service was excellent & attentive, and the food was superb. We had clams on the half shell, steamed clams, and jumbo shrimp cocktail for appetizers and all were fresh and delicious. Drinks were perfect. We had surf and turf; scallops, crab cake, and salmon all were perfectly prepared. The kid entrees were reasonably priced and tasty too. We did not have any room for dessert so we can't comment here - it was a good night all around for our family dinner out for a special occasion."

"It's very unfortunate when you bring friends to a restaurant for a nice dinner and the service is so bad. Honestly I don't think our waiter had a clue as to what his job was supposed to be. The service was slow, clumsy, inattentive. In addition the table placement within the restaurant was so awkward. The waiter and people clearing had to reach over our heads to fill glasses and put our entrees on the table. The coffee came after dessert was finished. The wine was ordered but we had to ask for it again. Overall a C- experience"

"The manager is cocky, the servers rash and the foods mediocre. The canal view is complimented by joggers that run along the track beside the stream. Would prefer the Chinese restaurant opposite to sea catch. Same view, better service."

"On this occasion, my aunt was visiting and I made a reservation for the 2 of us. We were seated at the worst table in the entire restaurant where we were in this tiny corner table which should not have been a table of it's own because it faced another table of two and was EXTREMELY awkward. These tables should clearly be combined to seat 4 persons that are dining together. It was absolutely ridiculous and then the food took forever! We arrived at 7:30, ordered by 7:45 and did not receive our meals until almost 9:00. The food was good, but not great considering the price and wait. This was my third time at Sea Catch in the past 6 months since I moved to the area, but I'm not sure I will rush back after this experience."

"Disappointing!! After researching upscale restaurants, I chose Sea Catch for my husband's birthday. We were seated but then never saw a waiter for about 30 minutes. The waiter was friendly but it was like pulling teeth trying to get him to recommend cocktails, wine or food. Therefore we skipped cocktails. I recently had a medical procedure peformed on my throat and was having difficulty swallowing, so I chose the Special of the Night which was Sea Bass with MASHED potatoes and asparagus. Fish arrived with whole potatoes and green beans (I hate green beans). Notified the server, it took forever to find a manager. By that time, husband had finished eating, my wine hadn't arrived. Manager was VERY nice but I left and ordered Chinese."

"This was the worst dining experience I have had in a decade. The restaurant was busy and un-cleared empty tables abounded with no one paying attention to them. We waited nearly 20 minutes for our first (and only) round of drinks. Our appetizers came out nearly one hour into our meal, by which time the waitress was telling the tables around us that they had run out of a variety of the different fish on the menu. We asked for a second basket of bread, which never appeared. 1.5 hours into this disaster, the waitress came to tell me they were out of tuna. At that point, we were done. I asked to speak to the manager, only to be told he was "busy" We left without paying. Horrendous restaurant."

"My family of four, including two teenage daughters, totally enjoyed the meal. I ordered a 2lb lobster, which was excellent. My wife had the scallops, and the kids had the filet mignon, and seafood linguini. Everyone raved about their meals. My only quibble is with the service. We ate early (5:30, when they opened for dinner), and the restaurant was mostly empty. We were near the bar and I watched my drink sit there while the waiter was nowhere to be seen for 10 minutes. He had two other tables, but wasn't at those, either. Also, near the end of the meal, I had to remind him I ordered a coffee, which came after we were almost done with our desserts. In the big picture, however, this was minor. We had a blast and will definitely go back."

"I had seared tuna as my dinner and I told them to cook it very rare but it was overcooked. However, the mushroom, corn etc. dish that was served underneath the tuna was outstanding. I have not eaten at Sea Catch for awhile but I was a little disappointed this time. I would give it another try because I have had very good meals here in the past."
