AOC
We've MOVED! Our new address is 8700 W. 3rd Street & George Burns Drive. A.O.C. is a small plates restaurant driven by seasonal ingredients, locally sourced. Our California French cuisine was developed by Chef Suzanne Goin, and has some Mediterranean influences as well. We have 24 wines by the glass and 150 bottles to choose from, curated by Caroline Styne, all of which are either organic, biodynamic or sustainable. And now, featuring a full bar with premium spirits and specialty cocktails. Reservations are encouraged.

"One of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've had this year. The patio is wonderful. The menu has many "small plates", which are great for sharing. This is a fabulous place. I had been to the old location many times, which I always enjoyed, but the new place is even better, with more of a sense of openness and comfort."

"The portion sizes are ridiculously small. I started laughing when they brought the bacon dates everyone was recommending
. Don't waste your money or time here, I ordered a 5 cheese plate for $5 a piece and each piece was one bite if cheese. So stupid, the owner must be really cheap, because we asked to be seated on the patio under a heater, but they refused to turn the heater on. After asking 3 times they finally turned it on, on full blast. My face started melting, i asked them to turn it down half way and they turned it off completely. It's as if they go out of their way to make your experience miserable. Avoid this place at all costs."

"I have been a loyal fan of AOC for many years, but this was my first time there for brunch. It was a nice alternative to dinner, especially since the restaurant is seeing tremendous business following their move west of La Cienega. The brunch scene is more low-key, not as crowded, and on a beautiful sunny Sunday, their fabulous outdoor patio provides a great setting. I felt the menu provided many nice options--some very breakfast focused, and some very similar or straight from, the dinner menu. I had the duck confit hash, a lovely salad with arugula, strawberries and walnuts, and a sparkling rose from Austria that was delicious and well priced."

"service team lacked attention to detail. From uniforms that were unprofessional and empty glasses and food served with no silver and apps still on table when entrees arrived. Hostesses cold seems that their is lack of supervision. Restaurant is beautiful and food was great! Maybe it was just an off lunch experience."

"When making then" Mothers' Day " reservation, I was at once curious, excited and concerned! Excited and curious at what I felt would be a great " food experience ", yet concerned about the " vibe " . Happily all my questions were answered in a resoundingly positive manner. A welcoming feel started with the valets acknowledgement to "Mom" and continued through every station of food and bar service !

"Brunch was incredible. AOC has an amazing atmosphere, it's a lovely restaurant. The brunch was delicious, I had the duck confit with poached eggs and would recommend to anyone. Bacon wrapped dates were also just as delicious as you'd expect anything wrapped in bacon to be. And no brunch is complete without a bloody mary-the spicier the better at AOC. I will be coming back!
The only minor bummer was that it happened to be 90 degrees in LA that day, and sitting outside proved to be incredibly hot. I recommend getting there earlier than later on the hot days if you'd like to sit outside."

"The entire staff was very friendly. The restaurant has a beautiful patio, but unfortunately my guest and I were seated between the main dining room and the patio area with the sun directly in our faces. We had to move our chairs around a few times which may have made the adjoining table a bit uncomfortable. We had to eat quickly as well since our food was in full sun. The duck confit hash was very dry, the french toast was soggy, but the gruyere omelette was amazing. Overall, a little disappointed after carefully selecting this venue for Mother's Day brunch."

"There is nothing more frustrating than going to a restaurant that serves wonderful food in a great atmosphere when your waiter is not making an effort. We went for Mother's Day dinner and waited for 30 minutes to get some bread as one of us had not eaten all day. The waiter seemed totally indifferent, was slow to pour champagne (we ordered a bottle) and was seen chatting with his colleagues all the while we were waiting. Unfriendly disposition does not help a great restaurant. Hopefully this was an exception as we welcome another great place to eat in our neighborhood. We all loved the brioche, hangar steak and crab pancakes. The plates were all well timed."

"Spanish fried chicken was dry, batter too spicy, dates overdone, rice with squid mushy/watery. Polenta very good. Glass of sparkling rose way overpriced.
Hostess who seated us gave us a different reason for not putting us on the patio than the person on the phone. Waiter was overly friendly but did not connect. Phoney. Drinks service was too long in coming. Woman who poured the wine was fawning and trying to hard like the waiter. Fast moving bussing of used dishes was harsh and intrusive. Like they were trying to push us out faster, Too many of them running around grabbing plates without asking.
Not a great experience, but pleasant looking space and patio. Sorry, we don't feel compelled to return."

"My family and I loved AOC for its food and service for many years now. Since they moved into their new location we can add the ambience to that list as well. The new location is beautiful and has a lovely patio, we have been there twice and sat inside and out and had a great Expierence both times. "Met a friend for Saturday brunch. Comfy booth and friendly service. Though it filled up, the noise level was not bad and my friend and I were able to have good conversation without raising our voices. Nice brunchy menu choices. I had the duck confit hash with poached eggs. Eggs were perfectly done but the duck a bit dry. Margarita was great, however, as were the bacon-wrapped dates. "We have always loved AOC and were anxious to try it in it's new location for our anniversary. We were not disappointed. As vegetarians, it's sometimes difficult to find a lot of choices without just loading up on sides...At AOC we could order from any section and loved every dish. Our waiter was attentive without being annoying, and even brought us a piece of cake for our anniversary."

"When it's a cooler night, it would be nice if they would close the patio doors. We didn't come prepared to eat outside or in the chilly evening air. Also, I think we all preferred the menu from the old location. We'll definitely try the restaurant again as it was our first visit to the new location. "AOC was already a great restaurant, and the new location has only made it better. What's more, some of your favorite dishes have been "refreshed" with new twists. We especially liked the fingerling potatoes, and the bacon-wrapped dates are still sumptuous. To top it all off, they now have a full bar, although the wine list is so good, you don't really need it. Great restaurant for special occassions or visiting guests."

"Beautiful new space for AOC! Amazing outdoor space and the food was excellent (better than I remember it being the last time I was there). We went with a party of six and had a wonderful meal. Our waitress was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. We ordered maybe a little too much food but there was nothing left to take home. All in all, an excellent meal."

"The food and service here are incredible, and is a fun place for a group of friends or coworkers. The visual is romantic and intimate, but the noise level on a Friday night is extremely loud with tons of chattering groups and a packed bar. The smaller space seems to really move the sound around the room more so than the last space AOC was in. If you are looking for an energetic, fun place with great food and awesome service, this is a good place for that; and maybe not so much for a quiet date night."

"We've been to AOC multiple times and have always loved the food. We were super disappointed this time in our waitress and the service. We brought our 20 month old son and even though we ordered his food first it was the last to arrive. The waitress seemed annoyed to have to explain anything on the menu. Really unfortunate."

"I have been an AOC regular for a few years, and I am so pleased with the new space and the new menu! My companion and I shared a few small plates and one of the new large format plates, the roasted chicken, and it was superb. It was brined and then roasted in the wood oven--so flavorful and juicy. The service was excellent at every turn, and the new space is just beautiful."

"The new location is great and the restaurant is beautiful. We were fortunate enough to get a table on their beautiful patio but then it started to most/drizzle. I know that no one saw it coming but they could have been a bit more accommodating. Once we were able to move to a slightly more covered table (still on the patio) things went mug smoother. The food was delicious. Unique offerings and combinations of ingredients. We'd definitely go back."

"I can't think of a restaurant more outstanding in every category! The new location is totally attractive,unique and charming. The staff is so friendly you feel as if they LOVE having you. Service is perfection. And the food - well it is unusual, delicious, tasteful and toothsome! My sister and I were celebrating our birthdays and we were treated like celebrities. Our waitress was terrific,described and explained every dish and took care of us completely - as did the whole staff. It's a winner!"

"have eaten here before and enjoyed it. my second time was not that good. the waiter was un-attentive, upset that we asked for menu suggestions, and when the food arrived (we ordered the roasted chicken) it was cold. this was the waiters fault. wont be recommending as there are so many other choices in los angeles"
