Nestled in the heart of Huntington, Mac's Steakhouse has set a new standard in dining. Macs proudly serves the finest selections of Natural Fed Meat, Seafood from the Pacific Rim and a masterfully selected Award Winning Wine List.
Inside, dine in our two distinct dining areas, that can accomodate 200 guests, as well as our private wine salon accomodating 12 guests. An elegant leather padded bar serves as the perfect area to unwind. This tasteful setting also includes a glass enclosed wine cellar which holds over 1,200 bottles, 100 of which are priced below $50.00.

"Very quiet, slow....needs a seriuos updated look in and outside. smelly carpets....wanted to walk out as soon as I entered. Desserts seemed to be pre-made - did enjoy the rum-glazed plantains...much better restaurants within the Village to dine in."

"Though we've had a pleasant time at Mac's for dinner...it is NOT the place to go for Mother's Day brunch. The brunch did not have all that was advertised...no assorted cheeses, few in the bread selection, few if any pastries. We had to wait on line for 15 minutes to get food. They were refilling the too small chafing dishes right in front of us on line. The price should have been $15.95 including a drink instead of $37.95. It felt as if they were just trying to make money on the holiday. You could barely move between the tables without asking someone to move their chair. The highlight was our wonderful waiter Matt. I wrote them on their website and have not yet heard back. I was disappointed to say the least."

"We were disappointed at our meal during restaurant week. Tuna tartar was good, short ribs were very good. Talapia was good. We chose soup because the salad choices were boring but the soup was not great or hot. The lobster ques. was filled with a lot of peppers and onions and just OK. The deserts were better than the meal."

"Thanks to Restaurant Week, our group of 8 Dance Moms were able to enjoy an affordable, fun night out. We are not the loud, rowdy, obnoxious bunch of "dance moms" that you see on tv. Maybe that's why we were given the private room ! What a surprise to walk into our reservation and have that private accomodation. It made us feel special, so thank you though for letting us use it. Dinner was great. I was a little disappointed that only salads and a soup were available as appetizers. I wasn't up to paying the surcharge for any of the other 3 items. The main course had several options which each sounded tastier than the next. Lastly, I believe both the chocolate cake and the cheesecake were previously frozen and made in a factory."

"There are many excellent restaurants in Huntington and this is one of them. We had a private room, even though we only had four people, and our waiter was attentive without being overbearing. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and wverything was excellent."

"I came for lunch with my mom and we ordered of the Price Fix Lunch Menu. I ordered the Tuna Tartar to start, which had no flavor, and was not as described on the menu. It was just chopped up Tuna, with no flavoring. She ordered the baked clams, and also said they were not seasoned at all. Our main dishes were no better. I ordered the steak sandwich medium; it came out well done and the meat was chewy. My mom ordered seafood au gratin, and the sauce was basically water. I was considering giving it two stars, but the main reason I go out to eat is to enjoy the food, and while I can't fault the staff, the food truly ruined the experience."

"The food here is good, not great. They accommodated a large party and the service was good. Food came out in a timely fashion. Overall it is just good but when the bill came they charged me for GREAt and it wasn't. This is a place you go when you can't get into the better steak houses. Sorry Mac's but you are a utility player in a line-up of all-star steakhouses on Long Island."

"The cocktails were horrible. The pear martini tasted like paint thinner that had once been held above some pears in a supermarket. The Mai Tai and tangerine martinis weren't much better.
The food was hit and miss. For appetizers, the lobster quesadilla and the spinach and cheese dip were excellent, but the calamari was rubbery and barely had any flavor. For dinner, the roasted pear salad was good, the seafood pasta was OK, and the filet mignon was unimpressive. I ordered it medium but it arrived medium well, and it came with the runniest bernaise sauce I've ever seen in my life."

"We went to Mac's Steakhouse as we had heard it had great steaks. The service was great, the mood was wonderful. The steaks were just OK. I wouldnt go out of my way to go there again for a steak dinner. The restuarant is realy set up for a quiet dinner with a spouse or a small group of friends. The table's for a party of 2 were against a wall with bench seating, while the bench was comfortable, it sat you too far away from the table to eat, so you needed to perch on the edge to eat your meal. There were also people sitting so close to you, they might as well had joined our conversation and table. a private conversation was out of question."

"Very nice place for dinner. Food was ok, nothing special. Clams stater was very good. I had the surf and turf, the lobster was very bland, but the steak was a very nice cut and cooked perfect for me. My wife had the skirt steak and mashed potatoes and seemed pleased. I ordered a side of potato pancakes which were just 3 cakes of shredded potatoes, hardly seasoned and bland. For 8 bucks I expected something tastier. Service was great. Would try again."

"our service, steaks (fliet and bone in ribeye) and side dishes were great. For some reason the apps were weak, I thought they would be better tasting and presented. While not the biggest deal I thought it was interesting how cheap the olives were in my martini it was like those cheap olives from a can, the drink itslef was fine however. I'd go back, just wish the first half hour was as godd as the last ninety minutes."

"We love Mac's Steakhouse. It's a great place to go for happy hour. The wine list is great. The staff are so amazing. The owner is a terrific guy who makes you feel like his best customer. Food is terrific. While the place is a romantic spot, my wife and I took our young girls there in the early dinner hour and they couldn't have been treated better."

"I ordered the surf and turf - steak was overcooked and the waiter brought me some bernaise sauce which was cold. The drawn butter for the lobster had a really funny taste so I ate the lobster dry, garlic mashed were terrible, creamed spinach was way too salty and the sauteed brussel sprouts were overdone. We ordered the cheesecake with caramel for dessert and even that was not good. We will never go back and we will not reccommend Mac's to our worst enemy!"

"Overall i would say for our first time dining at Macs, it was a fair experience. The food was alright, but not worth the prices being charged. My The service was pretty terrible. We had also ordered a roasted chicken and truffle mac & cheese. the chicken was dry and had no flavor, although the sauce did. The mac & cheese was plain dried up elbows with no cheese to speak of, and i don't even think they added truffle at all.
I would not go back, and would not recommend to a friend. There are plenty of other better restaurants in Huntington."

"We had an early (6:30) reservation to join another couple for dinner. We were seated right away in the upstairs area. Only one other party was up there at the time, at the opposite end of the room. But the acoustics are such that we could hear their conversations as if they were at our table! But as the room filled, the noise level evened out. Our waiter, Chris, was very attentive and all four of us enjoyed our meals. My Branzini fish was nicely done on a bed of risotto, but I couldn't finish it and took half home. Others enjoyed their tuna and steak, but the duck was a leg/thigh portion rather than the breast---a bit unexpected. The pear salad was delish!! We ended up staying three hours, and never felt rushed. Love this place!"
