Seafood and Portuguese Cuisine are our specialties. We offer a unique variety of fresh local and imported seafood specials daily including whole fish. The seafood selections on our menu are complimented by a variety of meat dishes ranging from the popular Pork Tenderloin stuffed with almonds, olives and figs to the, hard to find, Tripe Porto Style. Many of these dishes come steaming hot out of the wood-burning oven and fill the dining room with the exotic aromas of true Mediterranean cuisine. The menu reflects the commitment of Chef and Owner Manuel Azevedo to creating the unique culinary delights of his native Portugal and its neighbors. "Just off the square in Sonoma you'll find a small outpost of Portugal cuisine. Especially after a few days of menus described as "Californian" , a nice change of pace. Special offered was a whole Branzino. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Spouse opted for a series of small plate appetizers which were all wonderful. For the dairy free crowd desserts were off limits...except for some sorbet choices. The only disappointment of the evening."

"We ate at LaSalette on Saturday night. It was a lovely night outside with many people dining on the patio. We opted for indoors. The sea bass I ordered was done perfect and presented on a bed of corn with collard greens. Absolutely delicious. My husband had the Feijoada Completa (Brazilian national dish) which he loved. Our appetizer of cod cakes was fabulous. As always, service is wonderful and you feel very welcomed when you arrive. We have been dining here for years and the quality never changes. I highly recommend it for a different night out."

"I was worried after seeing the menu online that it would be a bit out of the box for me. I loved everything I had and enjoyed eating things that were new to me. "Dining out on a whim after a relaxing trip in Napa, our stomachs replete with meals created with care & finesse at Redd and Terra, we were hoping for a Mediterranean counterbalance to the panasiatic flavours we had enjoyed there. LaSalette delivered with dishes that wafted the scents of the ocean & international ports visited by the Portuguese. We enjoyed the flash-baked crispy sardines & thechorico crusted scallops (fresh-caught). Both dishes were expertly prepared, fragrant & flavourful. Our mains were phenomenal - the baked salt cod casserole & a truly outstanding pork tenderloin stuffed with figs, almonds and olives (wow!), served with cheese pototo croquettes (decadent). The staff were friendly & efficient & the wine list impressive."

"delicious mussels with unexpected strips of tasty sausage, delicious broth. caesar salad also very good. service a little slow in the beginning, we waited for about 15 minutes with no attention. they are a little short staffed when the outdoor tables are all in use. a nice experience, but nothing to write home about. the indoor seating is ok, but a little dark and not much special. outdoors is good in warm weather, and was packed saturday night. my companions had the lamb, which they enjoyed. i give it 3.5 stars overall, 4 for the food and 3 for the service."

"We had an excellent meal, and the service was most efficient. While I usually think of Portuguese food as somewhat heavy, our dishes were so fresh and delightful. The asparagus salad was beautifully presented and rather than being smothered in dressing, there were just little dabs of dressing and bits of prosciutto-like ham for aded flavor - very tasty. The fresh wild sea bass was on a bed on collard greens and corn, and each part was cooked to perfection. The collards were finely shredded and very tasty, and the dish was beautiful as well as most delicious. We can't wait to go again soon and enjoy the outdoor dining."

"La Salette is one of our absolute favorite restaurants in the Sonoma County area. "Two of us ordered two appetizers, a main course to be shared and a bottle of wine. It was a first meeting for us, so we wanted to talk for a little while, and the server was gracious in her being available without hovering. The apps were sent out one at a time, along with small plates, so we were able to share each course. The main, an excellent spicy fisherman's stew, was served in individual, stylish, slanted bowls.

"LaSalette is one of our favorite restaurants in Sonoma. The food is always prepared and presented with great care and the flavors of the Portuguese-inspired offerings are a delight. The wine list is not extensive but what is there is very good and offered to complement the menu. The service is first rate, being at once friendly, helpful and respectful of the dining experience. Good weather allows dining on the patio which is a very pleasant experience."

"LaSallette is a great restaurant with a unique menu. If you are visiting northern California wine country and are tired of "californian-American" or Asian cuisine- this is a great place. The menu had a great selection of traditional Portugese dishes- all was great, and we would definitely recommend this restaurant !"

"Had a bit of trouble finding the restaurant which is tucked away at the end of a courtyard. That makes it quiet and a little exclusive. Outdoor dining was lovely in the sunshine and the tables and chairs did not wobbly (often a complaint with alfresco dining. The menu sounds interesting with an emphasis on Portugese dishes. Unfortunately the reality was not as good as the description. all dishes we had were rather greasy with poor quality oil, and inadequately seasoned. Rather disappointing."

"I thought the food was really good and creative. We started with a trio tasting menu, but unfortunately the one item we really wanted they were out of so we had to substitute. The soup of the day (cauliflower) was very tasty, as were the entrees. Everything on the menu looked great; it was hard to choose."

"Take a wander down the little alley in Sonoma. This gem of a restaurant has wonderful authentic Portuguese food and personal service. Outside may be too hot on a super sunny day, but the inside is fine in either hot or cold weather. We love it and it's a regular for us for lunch or dinner."

"Was there Valentine's Day 2013...an outstanding recommmendation from the concierge at the Sonoma Mission Inn! Phenomenal service with an equally outstanding meal. The scallop appetizer with a bit of heat was amazing on the taste buds followed by Branzino (European Seabass) which was delicate and prepared to perfection. If I wasn't already in love with the woman who accompanied me I would definitely fall in love with LaSalette!"

"We love La Salette and we always hear people saying its their favorite restaurant. The food is very authentic and you can tell that it draws an extended crowd of fans from foodies to those just looking for a delicious, romantic dinner. The ambience is very warm, classy and cozy and the food is amazing - perfect for sharing as well. I love trying the Portuguese wines and the service is at a fine dining level with a twist of warmth that feels like you're in their home."
