Re-inventing the concept of a traditional Irish Pub by incorporating a modern flare, Irish Whiskey Public House opened with a mission to capture the essence of a traditional Irish pub while adding creative and progressive elements.
We feature modern Irish-American cuisine taking Irish classics and adding a modern spin. Executive Chef Sean McIntosh has created an exciting menu offering traditional Irish dishes that integrate unique and creative contemporary culinary components. Irish Whiskey serves lunch and dinner daily as well as a brunch menu on the weekends. Whiskey pairings will be included with a number of menu items to encourage guests to try whiskeys that complement each dish.
Our Dublin Room is the newest spot in the Dupont/Midtown area to offer private space for happy hours, company lunches, birthday parties, or any of your special events. Our relaxing and fun atmosphere is the perfect end to the work week with our nightly happy hour specials.
"Irish Whiskey offers a wonderful brunch special in which you can purchase an entire bottle of champagne per person for one dollar as long as you buy $10 worth of food along with it. Since almost all of their brunch items are at least $10 this is not a bad deal.
The service was great, our waitress was attentive and even poured the champagne for us.
The food was good for brunch food, had a few items I wasn't used to like pancakes with bacon and sausage mixed into the batter. The champagne was cheap but honestly what do you expect for dollar.
I would come back again."

"We arrived to a very vibrant happy hour crowd in a very pub like atmosphere. I had a flight of Jameson Irish whiskey - great way to start off paired with pretzel bites with a tangy dipping sauce. I ordered the fish and chips and my partner ordered bangers and mash. This is where is went downhill fast. The fish, rather than being lightly breaded fish, was more like lightly fished bread. It was a tube of beer batter with a vein of fish somewhere in the middle. Think state fair corn dogs and you get the picture. the bangers appeared to be chicken sausage, which can be (and were) very dry. The server was personable and attentive. We lived in the UK for a couple of years and this food resembles pub food there only in name."

"I've brought two groups to brunch, to take advantage of the $1 bottles of champagne when you order a $10+ entree. The food quality is fine and acceptable because of the champagne special. If we had to pay $10-15 for bottomless mimosas, I doubt I'd be back (or able to get a group together). Service was decent--sometimes slow on getting us more champagne or water refills--but always friendly.
I will return to Irish Whiskey again, in hopes that food will improve. But, hoping it happens sooner rather than later!"

"First time at this fairly new restaurant. Good service from a personable waitress/bartender. As for food. there are better Irish cuisine choices in DC area. Convenient for downtown workers."

"Had reservations for (3) on Saint Patricks Day,expected crowd but was stuck at a corner table with a TV virtually touching the back of my head adding to the overall high volume. None of the normal menu items were being served. There were only like six choices available. Made due with biscuits and gravy which were dry and not very tasty. The French toast was drenched in an overly sweet combination of sauces and left almost untouched by my teen that had ordered. Third item was a turkey club sandwich that was an odd mix of items that should not have been combined. Also, they were out of Guiness and Killians!(on St. Patricks Day) Not a great experience."

"Post-bachelorette, we made a reservation at 11am for noon and then showed up 20min early. They accommodated us with no problem! Food was great and came out quickly. $1 bottle of champagne didn't hurt either! In nice weather, they have tables outside."

"We were lucky to have made a reservation, because people who didn't weren't able to get a seat. Great whiskey selection--among the best in DC. As noted in other reviews, the pretzel bites are delicious--my burger, on the other hand, was just ok. When it warms up a little, the patio area in front, with a gas firepit, will be a good alternative to not-getting-a-seat-inside-without-a-reservation. Also, good happy hour specials on beer, but note: there are no happy hour specials on any whiskeys (definitely disappointing). A little bit of a mixed experience in the end, but we'll be back, I'm sure, for the whiskey."

"Even with reservations, our party of 2 still waited nearly an half hour to be seated. The food was subpar but with $1 bottles of champagne, you can't resist going back."

"You can't beat the $1 bottles of champagne at brunch! We came with a large group, and our server was very friendly and let us linger as long as we wanted, well past the end of brunch. The menu is diverse and the food was great. It does get really loud, so it's probably not the best place for a date or people looking to have quiet conversation."

"Went for their brunch special: spend $10 on food, receive a bottle of champagne for $1! The food was great, the champagne was cheap, what's not to love?"
