The Dutch is an American restaurant, bar and oyster room inspired by local cafes, country inns, corner taverns, neighborhood bistros, seaside shacks, roadside joints and the same mix of cultural influences that make Miami Beach great. Award-winning Chef Andrew Carmellini's roots-inspired American menu features fresh fish and shellfish, choice meats, local produce and the best of what's around.
"Our reservation was at 8:30 pm but we were running late and the hostess agreed to move the reservation to 9:00 pm. Good atmosphere and service. While we enjoyed the food the portions were a little small. In terms of dessert, I would definitely recommend the banana cream pie."

"I'm still confused as to why this restaurant isn't more popular. The food is amazing and the service is top notch. One of the better restaurants with respect to quality of food in Miami. Also the ambiance and service is great too. Only downside is it's a bit on the pricey side."

"We had dinner there on a Friday night and while it wasn't super busy, it did fill up soon after we arrived (8:30 reservation). We chose the skirt steak and the lamb pasta dish for our mains and both were excellent. And the in-season stone crab claw as an app was perfect. Would definitely go back."

"Located adjacent to the W Hotel Living Room, The Dutch delivers quality American style food - not low brow but fun riffs on down home cookin'. Try a Perfect Storm cocktail to start and then move on to a good wine list. Helpful service directed us to great oysters, and a terrific mahi entree. Desserts were good, and the salted caramel sorbet knocked us out. The only problem was the outrageous tab! Sort of a buzz buster. Be careful. But have fun."

"Out to dinner with my husband, chose to sit outside on the patio where was quieter than the very loud inside space. A martini, a glass of wine, an appetizer, a salad, 2 entrees, and a dessert, 2 cups cups of coffee and a $280 bill (including service). Really? & we did not even feel pampered in the least. Wines by the glass (poor selection) are over overpriced or under poured. Service was poor until I brought that to our waiter's attention, the it marginally improved. Lamb belly was excellent, salad was a big bowl of greens...meh, pork chop very good, lobster very good but poorly presented, mushrooms good and banana cream pie was very good. Overall, the experience was not worth the bucks...there was nothing charming about the evening."

"We dined at The Dutch based on a recommendation from Chef Aaron Sanchez from Food Network. The Dutch combines an energetic, casual atmosphere with delicious, creative food and outstanding service. The whole vibe is decidedly laid back. The server described dishes in detail and was very attentive. We started with a watermelon cocktail that was fabulous. We then had three dishes. The first was a spicy watermelon and yellowfin hamachi. The watermelon had been marinated in chili water so it took on a spicy, juicy character. This is a dish I would return for over and over. The next dish was lamb belly over couscous. Wow. I love the flavor of lamb and never really encountered lamb belly, which has the texture of a pork belly but the flavor of a b"

"First time visit to The Dutch. Sat on the enclosed terrace. Lovely, though our night wasa little cool and windy. But the setting was tropical and lush. Service was efficient and courteous. Food was good, not great. Although my husband raved about his lamb shank, anew addition to the menu. I had lobster salad appetizer and steak tartare entree. Insideof restaurant chic, but noisy. Terrace was quiet.Would like to revisit for lunch before the weather gets too warm."

"Disappointed with the food. Winter menu and spring time now. The pasta dish I wanted wasn't available and i was told reworking the menu. Loved the cucumber lemonade. French fries were exceptionally good."

"I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation. Bismark was our waiter - ask to be at one of his tables. Service was impeccable, gracious, knowledgeable and contributed greatly to a wonderful experience. Oysters were fantastic. We preferred the Kusshi oysters to the Tottens as the Totten had a minerally finish (which Bismark told us about). I also had the steamed red snapper, which was light, delicate and cooked to perfection. We finished with ice creams and sorbets. The sorbets, especially coconut, were some of the best my wife had ever had - comparable to what she had in Italy. Great experience! I would recommend an early reservation, ours was 6:30, before the rush, and the servers had time to really give great service."

"Slightly different menu than the Dutch in New York but still good. This restaurant is trendy (located inside the W) and feels very much like you're dining in Soho than in SoBe. Food was good but not outstanding. I ordered the tagliatelle with lamb ragu while my friend ordered the pork chop."

"A very good restaurant and well worth the visit. Food was outstanding as was the ambiance and the specials (Veal Chops and Butternut Squash soup) were both outstanding selections. The entire night was a success and a good value for the money!"

"Great food, beer/wine selection, and ambiance. Most of the staff were friendly and accomodating. Our waiter had a little bit of trouble following our requests and was not exactly welcoming, but the rest of the experience made up for it."

"Very nice space/design and the food is good but probably not worth the expense. For those prices I was expecting top notch food. We had two cocktails (very tasty), a starter of oysters and two mains for 130 including 18% tip (which was added for all party sizes). The Florida mahi dish was lacking a certain complexity and the chickpeas in the sauce were just a bit undercooked. My husband's skirt steak was tasty but he was not blown away. Our waiter was not attentive to us and it may have been due to him having several tables in our section outside. Overall an above average experience but the cost-benefit ratio will probably deter us from going back."

"this is a pretty cool, urban bistro in the W South Beach. We enjoyed our meal, alhough the restaurant lighting could have been a lot lower (it was so bright it felt like a coffee shop!) But a quick mention to the hostess and problem solved!
We had the skirt steak (yum!) and snapper (also yum!) Highly recommend"

"looks like a hip new york "formula" chain restaurant, and the staff behave that way (reciting every ingredient in each dish and saying it's fabulous) but in fact the food was good! particularly try the watermelon squares with tuna, as a starter course."

"Another SoBe tapas type restaurant that is laughing all the way to the bank....great food, but very over priced. Oh and let's not forget the automatic 18% gratuity that is added to the total bill including the wine...ridiculous."

"What a great restaurant. Food was amazing. Ambiance was great, not ultra fancy but still really nice. Service was great, our waiter Juan knew the menu like the back of his hand and did a great job of describing the items and making recommendations. It is a little pricey but still something that you have to try. Hands down best restaurant in Miami."

"This is a great looking space. Very energetic and exciting. We had the oyster sliders first. They were awesome. Drinks were very interesting. My only problem was that we were so rushed. The waiter was TOO attentive and didn't even give us 5 minutes to savor our drinks before we were pressed to order. We asked him to give us some time and two minutes later, back again for our order saying he wanted no delay between the courses. And he was right, there was no delay. When the fork went down on the sliders, our dinner was there. The bread was delicious, but gone before we finished it. If we are going to spend $100 per person for dinner, I don't want to be done in 40 minutes. The food really was delicious and creative."

"The Dutch was one of the dining highlights of our Miami trip. My group of three had 10:30 PM reservations but showed up at 9:30 for drinks. I'm a big fan of craft cocktails, especially the Old Fashioned - their execution was flawless! We sat comfortably in the W's bar until our table was ready. Even though the place was packed they were able to seat us at 10. We ordered several appetizers and a couple of entrees. The mini oyster sandwiches were my favorite. The service was friendly and accommodating. The waiter gave great recommendations. All-in-all a wonderful experience!"
