"We had the veal chop with mushrooms and the shrimp scampi. Both were delicious. The shrimps were big and I've never had a veal chop that bit. They had a good selection of wine by the glass. Try the baby amarone....mmmm good."

"There were 4 of us so we decided to order appetizers first & once we finished them we all decided to split 2 whole fish between the 4 of us. The apps. were delicious. One of their specials was my favorite, the veal stuffed meatball. Very light and delicious. Probably the best we have ever eaten. Calamari was very light also. Some salads excellent. I shared the yellow tail Snapper with a livernois sauce, and our friends shared a Snapper Oreganata. Both were exccellent. Thank you Bobby, always a great waiter, you made our evening."

"Several times lately, I have taken a new acquaintance or group of friends who have high expectations to Trattoria Romana. My guests have been delighted with the menu, the wine list and the quality of the food. The congenial, timely service helps to make each visit special. Every guest has enthusiastically said that they look forward to their next visit and has complimented my choice.
Recently, I had to let the restaurant know on a weekend night that I would be late for my reservation...and additionally, that I would be adding two people to my party. This news was graciously accepted and our table was waiting for us when we arrived.

"Went to celebrate my sister in laws birthday. Valet the car and had them wash it while we dined. Nice idea. We had a wonderful table and our waiter Bobby, could not do enough for us. When we 1st sat down he brought Bruchetta, with fresh tomatoes, and some wonderful breads in a basket..He then explained in detail the dishes that we were interested in trying, and was very patient. I ordered Bronzini Livornese & it was excellent. Just the right amount of Tomatoes, olives, capers and fresh garlic buds. My hubby had the special of linguini with Shrimp, Clams & Crab. and his sister had the same but with a whole wheat pasta. They both loved theirs. We did not have enough room for desert, but they sounded wonderful. We will definitely go back"

"The food was good but not great (my rice had a funny taste and I could not eat it) and my coffee was old.

"Our dinning experience at Trattoria Romana was absolutely horrible on Saturday night! That is sad because I raved so about it to our friends, who could not believe how bad the food was. We waited for 1 hour to get seated and that was after a 4:00PM phone conversation about the table and the time. I ordered Veal Milanese and it came plain on the plate with mashed potatoes and no salad!!! That isn't even the dish.... I will not be returning to this restaurant again"

"Consistently one of the best restaurants in South Florida.Always busy so don't hesitate to eat at the bar. Bartenders Joey and Christina are spot on and you'll enjoy the service. The nightly specials are incredible and no special request is ignored. All of the servers are true professionals and know the menu inside and out. The wine list is extensive with unique selections. We have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. The true mark of a great restaurant is consistency. "We arrived for our reservation on time. The valets were rude, the gals at the check in desk were not nice, and the old woman (I think, the owner) was sooooooo sour faced, I was thinking, "why are we eating here?". We waited for 40 minutes to be seated, and I'm convinced that was only because I said I was a blogger for the NY Times Food Section. The food was delicious, but I'm not into rude staff. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. EVER.
A note to the restaurant: Meanness travels downhill. You may want to be nicer. The fact that your valets were not even nice, should have been a clue. Don't worry. We'll NEVER return."

"Our waiter, unlike the reception desk, was extremely friendly. He was also very knowledgeable and helpful. That was a big plus. Although I did not order the most challenging dishes, the food was really excellent. We started with a fantastic meatball that the three of us shared. I had a puttanesca that was among the best ever - I often don't order this simply because so many places don't get it right - or at least the way I like it. The other two people we were with also liked what they got, but I really didn't pay that much attention to them. On the negative side was the noise level and the wait beyond our reservation time. Both those things, however, were within my tolerances (barely)."

"Although it's a bit noisy and always crowded (good for them, but annoying for customers that have reservations and still have to wait), the food is always delicious. Especially love the bruschetta that your waiter brings in the beginning of the meal and the great cookies at the end---very nice special touches. A bit pricey."

"It was Easter Sunday the place was as always, packed with people. We got a table in the back room which we liked. I ordered the lamb the way it came on the menu. I ordered it medium rare. It arrived blue. They cooked it a little more and it was very good. As a result my vegetables where overcooked.Our friend ordered veal payard with artichoke. It was not on the menu and when it arrived it looked very sad. A couple of peaces of meet and nothing else on the plate. The artichokes came in a separate dish. The waiter was very accommodating and friendly.The food can be very good there but I guess they where too busy."

"Our extended family of six enjoyed a delicious meal here. Had to make reservations 3 weeks in advance so you know this place is good. Atmosphere is small and intimate, very far away from a chain type restaurant experience. I loved the brushetta complimentary appetizer & bread basket. The tomatoes were amazing. The specials are extensive so don't be afraid to ask your server to repeat. Had the lobster special on spinach, was exquisite. The desserts left a little to be desired. Cannoli nothing outstanding, nor was the coconut sorbet. The lemon sorbet was very good. If you have the appetite, order the mammoth strawberry shortcake (big enough for 2-3 people) which appears to be the signature dessert. It looked lovely. Will return"

"I travel to Boca about six times a year to visit family. We go to a lot of restaurants. Coming from New York we tend to think the food is only great in New York. (Or Italy) Well we went to Tratoria Romano for the first time. All I can say is it stood up to all of them. The meatball appetizer, the gnocchi and the veal chop were amazing.We shared desserts which melted in our mouths.The wine list was fabulous. They stocked our favorite Amarone. And, the service was beyond compare."

"I have to admit, I am a harsh critic on dining out these days. Most places I go to are less then average, this place was very good. We were seated immediately for our reservation which was surprising of how busy it was. I had heard the bruschetta was really good but I found this to be the most boring part of the meal. It wasn't horrible, it just had no flavor. We ordered the antipasto and olive appetizer which was excellent. We moved on to this gigantic meatball which was big enough for two and had really good flavor. We also ordered the lobster ravioli, which I have to say was one of the best I ever had. The service was quite good, the experience was great, I already have another reservation in two weeks."

"The food was just moderate nothing special except the over price of food. $50..0 0 for a piece of Dover really? The service was the WORST!! This is the second time I go there and the last. I try to give a restaurant a second chance but as before the service was bad. The best part of this place is the delicious tomatoes they serve while you wait for your dinner.
