"What I had ------------------------------------------ Fried Chicken Thighs w/dill yogurt sauce, celery New York Steak- smoked pepper sauce, warm potato & green bean salad Chocolate Cream Pie- banana coulis, toffee crunch (not as good as I had hoped)
Snob Alert - I did not like the fact that the waiter did not consistently refill my water even though he was not attending to anyone else (it was a Sunday Night). I was expecting a bit more service.
Aside from that, the food was great. I would never have tried dill yogurt sauce on chicken but it is my new appetizer favorite. The steak portion was large and the potatoes were small...just how i like it. I should have gone for the sorbet but I was in the mood for chocolate. Did not like it much."

"We went in knowing what we were getting into, but $100+ for two people (3 courses each plus a cocktail, tax, and tip) means that although we loved the experience, it will have to be reserved for special occaisions. I found the Gems salad to be amazing, but the pork chop was much too salty for my taste (though other reviewers seem to like it). Service was top notch."

"We went here for my sons 18 birthday and had a great meal. He is a foodie and liked the interesting menu. We went early and it was quiet but filled up as the evening went on. The piano singer was a great surprise and it is right across from Washington park in North Beach so location is perfect for people watching and neighborhood feel. The food was outstanding. The owner chef knows hs stuff and my son's organic steak was the best he had ever had. I had an asparagus soup that was complex and yummy. Portions are generous and can be shared so we made the most out of tasting. We didnt try the wine list but the mint limeaid was fresh and perfect for an early meal We would return for sure!"

"First time I've been there for brunch and it was terrible. Chilaquilles were just tortillas thrown in eggs and black beans out of a can (no seasoning we could taste) and the seared tuna was a poor cut (jagged, not high grade, and included the blood line), over cooked and poorly cut. I've been for happy hour before and have had great service, but we waited almost 45 minutes for our food and the place was mostly empty. Also, we had probably 3 people tending to our table, which made it even more unbelievable that we couldn't get our water refilled or an update on our food. Chef needs a lesson in selecting, cutting, and cooking tuna. Unless they really upgrade they're brunch, I won't be returning for it,"

"Overall a great night. The service was great in the beginning, but as it got more crowded the service seemed to slow and the waitress came around less often.
First time at the restaurant AND will go back or recommend."

"We were a group of 5 who made a reservation for a late dinner. Our meal was great comfort food and the service was impeccable. I will go back again next time I'm in SF."

"It was noisy, the food was salty. We went with our server's recommendations on several dishes and were disappointed with the saltiness of all gems except one appetizer. The service was terrible. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, yet there were times when we didn't see our server for 15 minutes or more. I woul never go back to bottlecap."

"Came for brunch. Atmosphere is great and the French toast was quite good. However they seemed to be understaffed as service was friendly but very very slow. As an example, My wife's dish came out 10 minutes before mine. Then it took 5 minutes just to catch someone's eye to bring us salt and pepper."

"I normally get the Seared Scallops, but the Roasted Roots sounded delicious. It was, yummy sweet potatoes and turnips; although the red lentils could have been a little more cooked - they seemed a tad dry. Yummy overall. Great drinks! I was surprised to see this restaurant looking pretty stark all the way up to 9 pm and never really did fill up by the time we left at 9:30. And they certainly hold back on reservations on opentable, even though they weren't booked."

"We chose this restaurant before attending a comedy show at Cobbs. The service was exceptional and delightful and the food was so delicious. The staff was more mindful about our show time than we were since we had libations and were caught up in good conversation with full, satisfied bellies. This is a true hidden gem void of tourists with plenty of charm. Thank you to the staff there!"

"Service is slow here, and food can be excellent or miss the mark. Sadly my poached at brunch were hard and when I sent them back they were replaced with the same overcooked eggs!"

"Usually it's hard to get good variety off a brunch menu but our group of 5 had orders ranging from omelets to seared tuna salad and all of it was delicious. Our waiter was patient and quick. He gave us a nice window table looking toward the park across the street. I would definitely go back."

"I planned a dinner for myself and 7 friends at Bottlecap this weekend to celebrate a friends birthday. We had a great square table and were seated on time. They have delicious cocktails and solid and reasonable priced wine list. Our food was great: we shared several salads for appetizers, and all enjoyed our main courses: Pork Shoulder, Flank Steak, Sea Bass stew. Unfortunately, the evening was overshadowed by poor service. The timing of the meal was all wrong - slow drink service, and we were there for almost an hour before even ordering our main course. Our waitress was inattentive and paying the 18% gratuity stung!"

"Bottle Cap has been a hidden treasure. Right across the street from Washington Square Park in North Beach, this restaurant doesn't have the same visibility as other restaurants around the park. But its location and excellent food (and mimosas, belinis, etc!) and reasonable prices make it a great spot for NB dining.
They were extremely accommodating to our party of 15 for a saturday brunch. Service was excellent and everything went as smoothly as an be. No complaints whatsoever! I would definitely recommend this place."

"After speaking with the Chef before we came in, he assured me there were a number of items he could alter to fit my gluten-free needs. Wow, did he ever - wonderfully delicious & interesting dishes! Portions were also quite generous. We'll be back!"

"Lamb, chicken, seafood, pork--their meat is worth the weekend parking grind. Never thought chicken or pork could blow me away, but both were so tender and juicy.
Service is somewhat off and your order will likely take way longer than expected."
