Since 1946, Capurro's Restaurant has been family owned and operated. Recently remodeled, Capurro's offers a traditional Fisherman's Wharf menu reminiscent of our Italian heritage. Serving lunch and dinner, we feature only the freshest locally caught seafood seven days a week from 11am to 10pm
"Thank you for such a nice experience for my most particular bf who Is very picky about his seafood. We both enjoyed the food, friendly atmosphere and convenience parking spot. For opentable way to easy for reservation."

"We enjoyed the roasted crab, they were small but very tasty. The service was excellent, friendly, helpful and courtesy. We have lived in San Francisco all my life and never tried this restaurant, glad we had a coupon that made us come to find this restaurant. Having a parking lot is definitely a plus, especially with all the construction going on."

"We were in San Francisco for a ball game and went to Capurro's for lunch. They make the best wood roasted crab! The staff was excellent and the owner, Paul was very nice. They welcome you at the door and the courtesy continued all the way through!"

"Maybe a touch above casual dining, but not much. They didn't even acknowledge the reservation. The waiter could have cared less. All they wanted to do was turn the tables. It seemed because I was a single that No cared? I have had better service and food@ a Chili's"

"We decided to use our groupon on a Monday night dinning assuming the restaurant wouldn't be too busy. The server was friendly considering we have three kids with us and the service was rather quick. With our groupon, we got a salad and a pasta dish with our "whole crab." and I ordered a bread bowl clam chowder on the side. It turns out the clam chowder was the worse of all three. The bread was old and still and I didn't see anyone else ordered it. We ended up let the kids use the free bread they serve for the soup. The crab dinner took a bit longer than I expected. We both had the wood stone grill style. I was not happy since I didn't get the whole crab. Half of the body was missing and the legs were much smaller."

"My partner and I dined with a groupon for the crab dinner. The service was outstanding and attentive. The red chowder was bland, devoid of body or content and resembled a canned tomato soup. The Caesar salad never met an anchovy and was only sightly more familiar with Parmesan. But these weren't the items we came for. The crabs were wonderful. The roasted was served in a tasty broth which invited sopping and the steamed was supplied with clarified butter. Both were perfectly cooked, exceptionally delights to the tongue. Finally the butterscotch pudding was rich and a great finish."

"Generally the food and service were really good. It did take three requests to get additional bread and the busboy was the one who finally fulfilled the request and then all was right in the world. The woodstone crab was wonderful and cooked to perfection and with the additional bread the meal was complete."

"Wonderful Roasted Crab. Of course a tad on the messy side but they do providew bibs. My only complaint is that the doors to the pocket pool and rest rooms were sticky from the above mentioned crab that so many patrons enjoyed. They should be degreasing the doors more frequently!"

"We arrived at the restaurant at the reservation time and was seated immediately. We both ordered the Woodstone Roasted Crab. I had the ceasar salad and my husband had the pasta w/marinara. Both were very good. The crab was the best I've had. I will definitely be returning."

"Just a nice family driven place, friendly and all in one just a nice place. Even though it is in the touristic spot they do not try to overprice and prices are fair. Got a groupon and it was totally worth it!"

"Our reservations were at 6:30, we ordered drinks from the happy hour menu,(5-7) $5 for a good martini. For dinner we chose the wood oven roasted dungeness crab! We started out with a cub of warm clam chowder, delicious,it helped warm us up from the SF chill. With dinner we ordered the house white wine it went very well with the crab. Our crabs arrived with a bib, which we needed as we cracked the crab. The sauce was a white wine sauce with garlic, red pepper flakes and other delicious spices. The crab was cooked in the pizza oven and turned half way through, the juices from the crab making up the rest of the sauce. We dipped our sourdough bread to soak up the sauce, savoring each bite. Service was excellent! Great dinner!"

"Tried this place because of a Groupon for their roasted crab. WOW! So good! And our waiter was a really nice guy that knew the menu very well. Overall, it was a good meal, a nice little spot that wasn't insanely busy for a Friday night."

"Restaurant was easy to get to being next to Fisherman's Wharf, and the roasted crab was the best I ever had. Good place to take out-of-towner's or just to have dinner while in the city. In addition, reservation's can be made online, which is great."

"Ambiance was fancy, cloth napkin but with a comfortable, casual and energetic vibe. Service was great, quick, attentive, friendly. The bill was a little high but we did order crab. If it weren't for the priciness we would probably go there more often. A great special occasion spot."

"Overall it was not that good. The food was pretty tasty but the overall atmosphere and service was below standards. It's a tourist spot and we should have known not to venture into tourists spots."

"My wife and I have dined at Capurro's in the past. We have always enjoyed great brunches, lunches and dinners there! The service has always been wonderful and the food is great. Our waiter was very helpful, as one of our guests is on a gluten free diet. He was helpful in selecting a dish from the menu that was enjoyable and very tasty. We will be back for sure!"

"In a word... Meh. I had the Sanddab sandwich which was a greasy fried hunk of under seasoned fish with forgettable fries and sad French fries. The salad my companion had looked descent. Overall; if this is what tourists are left with after hearing about the San Francisco culinary scene... They are left wanting a lot more. I had higher expectations for Capurros... Especially after reading the overall positive reviews."

"We enjoyed our dinner here - tasty crab, nice service. We thought a tad too enpensive for what was offered, but it's SF tourist central, so that's what you expect. (We're native Bay Area.)"

"Went there with a Groupon deal for crab dinner for 2 and was pleasantly surprised. The wood roasted crab was fresh and delicious. Skip the clam chowder - it had way too much thickener in it, few clams, lots of potato. Butterscotch pot de creme was good although the salted caramel sauce looked like it came from a squirt jar."

"Let me start by saying we are wine gals.... As such, we reviewed the wine list prior to arrival. We were not happy with the marginal wine selection offered & decided to bring in our own wine. This obviously upset the waiter & manager (who happened to be the wine buyer for the restaurant) We paid the corkage & offered wine to both, not a smile from either. They both had responses that lead me to believe they were alcoholics which wasn't pleasant.
My guest & I had an appetizer and the Stone Roasted Garlic crab. As appetizers we had the steamed clams/muscles and the shrimp cocktail. The steamers were good but the broth was a bit salty. The shrimp were your average five shrimps in a cup of lettuce & cocktail sauce. Corkage fee = $15"

"We were there twice in one month, that's how good it was. Excellent, everything. Bartender was very accommodating and made great drinks. Wait staff friendly but not overly so, and we were sat at the table we asked for. The food was excellent. Can't wait t return for another great meal!"

"We were greeted with a warm hello and given a nice table for our Saturday afternoon reservation. Service was prompt and friendly. We ordered a bottle of wine and had the calamari for an appetizer. The calamari order was generous but it was greasy. We chose the oven roasted crab with our side of white clam chowder. The crab was very good, the chowder was not. We had a butterscotch pudding type of dessert served with two bite size biscotti-yummy and rich."

"Had a Groupon for two roasted crabs. The crabs were quite delicious as was the clam chowder. The dessert was okay, but the crabs made up for it. The servers were friendly and attentive. The booths were nice, noise level and ambiance definitely still allowed for good conversation over dinner."
