"I had not gone to BLT Steak for dinner in quite some time as new steak houses and new restaurants abound in DC. It was a nice welcome back to see the restaurant doing well and the food consistent. We were seated at a corner booth table as requested and even though the server was busy, he was engaged and humorous. The evening left me with a satified feeling and a note to remember to put the restuarant back into rotation."

"We came here primarily for the " aged prime steaks ", but the ribeye was chewy and under seasoned. My wife's grilled lobster was flavorful but rubbery and the only redeeming part of our meal was the dessert and the impeccable service by the waitstaff. The valet parking was understaffed and we had to wait 20 mins to retreive our car. Management needs to re-examine their daily operation."

"I had the seafood and my girl friend had the hangar steak. Oysters, shrimp, and clams were great. The claw was unimpressive. Hangar steak was great. The popovers were weird and unnecessary. I much preferred the bread that was brought out with with pâté."

"Turning 35, I mean 28, was hard. Thankfully a wonderful dinner at BLT was all I needed. We had a reservation for 10:15 - but decided we wanted to sit at the bar, which was quite full at the time. The hostess was gracious enough to ask a single diner who had empty seats on either side of him if he would mind sliding down one.
Our bartender was wonderful - the food was amazing. Oysters and Bacon to start. NY Strip was cooked perfectly, the asparagus was delicious. The only think that did not hit the spot was the jalapeño mashed potatoes. I was hoping for normal mashed with bits of peppers - instead the are a green puree resembling baby food - and boy were they spicy.
Dessert on the house for my birthday was a nice touch.
Highly recommend."

"I haven't eaten meat in 22 years but still find plenty to enjoy at BLT Steak! The seafood, fish and salads are all delicious (the tuna tartar app is wonderful!). I could easily have a piping hot popover (be careful not to burn yourself!) and a salad or app and be completely satisfied. I've been told the steaks are the best around (and giving my lab's reaction to a few leftovers I'd say that must be right).
Be sure to save room for the Peanut Butter Mousse dessert! You won't be disappointed. Expect to drop a lot of cash, or better yet use an expense account if you can!
Service is great as well and there is a nice outdoor patio area if the weather is nice."

"Great food and service was great unless you questioned or disagreed. Then, beware. I specifically requested my steak be pink not red and was assured by waiter and shown on menu that cooking the steak to medium would have a pink center. It was not, it was blood red and I had to send it back and didn't get it until until others at table had finished their meal. When I got the filet cooked as I requested it was delicious. But pink is not pink at BLT Steak. I will dine there again, but now I knw how to order my steak."

"Service was great. Several nice touches: delicious popovers, pate de foie gras. Starve yourself before you go: the portion sizes are humongous. Tried both the 12 oz Filet and the 10 oz. Wagyu Top Cap. Preferred the Filet over the Wagyu. Roasted Asparagus and Brussels Sprouts with honey and bacon. We left nothing on the plates. We can't believe we ate everything."

"Our daughter had abstained from eating meat for over 8 years but had recently told us she wanted to go out for a steak. She'd eased herself back into eating meats over the past 4 months and was ready for the real deal. We took her to BLT. Her prime dry-aged NY Strip was the perfect 'welcome back'. "My first experience at BLT Steak was very positive. The service was great, especially the knowledgeable staff. We received great descriptions and recommendations. Although the restaurant was noisy, it was not unpleasant or rowdy, rather maintaining a real "hot spot" feel. I would definitely recommend BLT Steak for groups, but date night it is a little loud. Despite this, the food was magnificent. I had the special braised veal which was absolutely divine. I will be going back!"

"Ive searched the world for a perfect steak, and this is the second time in my travels that I have found it. We really enjoyed the wagu steaks, they had the tenderness and flavor unlike any other cut of meat. And most importantly they were seasoned and cooked to perfection for everyone at the table. The sides and pop overs were also outstanding. The service could have been better, I dont like to have to ask to place my order but it was a lively sat night and I am going to give that a pass as the server was knowledgeable about the food and wines.
I cant wait until my next trip to DC so I can come back. Thank you for a very memorable evening."

"great food and lousy service. they forgot to put our order in to the chef so we sat around for over an hour waiting for our food. i tried to pre-pay the bill to avoid the inevitable post-meal fight over the bill but the waiter screwed that up as well. unbelievable."

"My husband and I made a reservation for our wedding annivresary. The whole atmosphere and food make for a wonderful night out. The wine list is extensive with helpful sommeliers. The food was wonderful and portions were big enough for my husband I to share. The make an excellent cappuchino as well. My steak was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was excellent, they did not hover and always seemed to know when drinks needed to be refilled. This is kind of restaurant that is worth every penny."

"This is my favorite steak place in DC, but not so much for the steak as for the popovers and the desserts. The service is always very polite and knowledgeable. On my most recent visit, for the first time (and I've eaten here at least a half dozen times), the server was actually attentive. Usually dinner here takes two hours because the waiters don't seem too concerned about rushing to take your order."

"I told my waiter I wanted lobster, but couldn't decide between lobster cobb and the seafood platter for one -- I asked him which lobster choice he would make, he said for the love of all of the different shellfish present on the seafood platter, he would go for the seafood platter -- I asked if he could confirm that the seafood platter came with lobster (only because the cobb was $29 and the platter wasn't that much more at $34). He confirmed it had all of the shellfish listed on the blackboard (lobster among them). The platter did not contain a lobster and he later lamented that had I ordered the platter for 2, then I would have gotten a lobster, oops, his mistake."

"Beautiful atmosphere. The classiest of steakhouses without the stuffiness. The Bone in NY Strip was magnificent. Dry aged perfectly and cooked just the way I like it, Pittsburg Black n Blue. "Overall was it worth $230 for two people? Does it stand out? Food was good, but not great,nothing was differant than any other steak house you will goto in D.C. It was excatly what I expected but nothing more. My only feedback was, we had a manager or a sommier take our beverage order, then a server came over took our food order, didnt give us (his name) he checked on us once, and we never saw him again? The busser was probably the best busser I have ever seen at any establishment he was on point. We ate sat there for a while, we wanted dessert but it seemed like everyone wanted the table turned because the hosts were glarred and pointed at out table like three times. So we left, good but not great..."

"BLT was a special birthday dinner. That being said, while the food was high quality and I probably won't go back unless someone else is footing the bill. There was no one waiting for a table yet the host's seems anxious to seat us. My steak was overdone and to compensate we were offered dessert which we did not want. When I asked if I could simply get coffee it was strongly implied that no, dessert was free not coffee. Just an all around awkward experience with excellent steak imperfectly cooked. Will probably go to J&G or Bobby Van's next time sadly."
