"We were staying at JW Marriott so this restaurant is right nearby which is perfect after a long day of walking all around DC. We went with a group of 6 and got a variety of dishes, steak salad, lamb a few appetizers... Everything was delicious. Great wine selection a well."

"My companion and I ordered the luncheon chicken cutlet. It looked great -- terrific-looking orange sauce and greens on top. But the food had no taste. Both of us had to sprinkle lots of salt and pepper to make it taste like anything. The room is handsome and service good, but the food was pointless."

"I have been to the Hamilton several times before, but never for brunch. It was really good! I needed a reservation for 6 for brunch on relatively short notice, and I chose the Hamilton because it is massive and i knew they would be able to fit us in-- and they did-- with no problem..
I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry pancakes-- delish! My husband had the soft shell crab benedict--- that was good as well! Definitely recommend."

"This is the second year that we dined at the Hamilton on Mother's Day! We really enjoyed our food & the service.
Our reservations were made early for a good table! Ended up -we had concern with our table. My Mom is 82 yrs & walks with a cane, so I asked that the 5 of us be seated so she didn't have to walk too far. This translated into our being seated at a noisy isle table (no one was happy); we were later moved to another table comfortable for only 4. I sacrificed & sat at end of the table in an uncomfortable side chair; (no one was happy). We took a long stroll down a long corridor to an elevator & were finally seated comfortably. There a piano was playing, the was food hot & tastey & quality service! But, Mom was very tired!"

"Tried this place when it first opened. All 4 diners at our table agreed - the food was very salty, almost inedible. Put this down to new restaurant learning issues. Decided to try it again after they had been open a long while. Service was attentive, but the food was still very salty for half the entrees. Another issue - with Caesar salad. We don't like getting heads of romaine, drizzled with dressing, on a plate. This is very quick and easy for the kitchen, but makes the diner have to do the work. We have encountered this style in several other restaurants and dislike it, even sending it back on occasion. The salad should be traditionally prepared with smaller pieces of lettuce, tossed in dressing. Enjoyed the cheese appetizer."

"My family and I dined at the Hamilton for Mother's Day. It was our first visit to the restaurant and based upon our enjoyment of the food will definitely be making a return visit in the near future. The decor of the restaurant is opulent but tasteful. The restaurant was very busy due to it being Mother's Day so the waiter was stretched a little thin. That being said he apologized for not being as attentive as he should have been but I had no complaints. If you're looking for good food and a very nice atmosphere to enjoy your meal, be sure to pay a visit to the Hamilton."

"The Hamilton delivered again. This is our third time at this restaurant and we find it to be very consistent. I especially like that they offer half portions of their pasta dishes as an option to have pasta as a first course instead of a main. (The Ricotta Agnolotti is so delicious, you'll sop up the sauce with their absorbent crusty bread!) The Norwegian Salmon entree salad is the perfect mix of elements complemented nicely with a light lemon vinaigrette. Other hits -- the scallops, perfectly seared; the NY Strip, very flavorful. We were celebrating two birthdays; the restaurant helped out by placing candles in our desserts - seasonal strawberry shortcake. We will be back!"

"I booked a reservation for a work group of 6 pretty last minute. They ended up seating us early (we arrived early and figured we'd just wait at the bar), and gave us a great table off on it's own little private area with a nice large window view. The server was great, checking on us all frequently, and the food was great too. Everyone was positive to the plates they ordered, and were all very happy with the restaurant selection overall."

"DC Wings was exceptional! Not sure what I was expecting when I saw this on the menu. Wings with mambo sauce is a DC carryout staple so when I ordered it I was wondering how The Hamilton was going to put the twist on this one. To my (great) surprise, this appetizer which could have been a entre was to die for. It took me right back to my teenage years of scrapping up change to go to the corner carryout for 4 wings with mambo sauce and french fries! This was excellent."

"The cheese plate was generous and good. I got the burger and that was good as well. The atmosphere was nice, just not what I expected. I was less than impressed with the service. One thing she did that was borderline rude was asking for my date’s ID and not mine when we ordered alcohol. Granted he is a few years younger than me, but it still felt awkward especially when she commented that it was because he “didn’t look 35.” Though I don’t consider myself overly sensitive about my age and the whole “getting carded” thing (at 34, I realize I don’t look like I’m 20, and I’m ok with that), in that situation it seemed uncouth to me. There were a couple other things that I found lacking, but that was the highlight."

"The wait staff was as friendly and curteous as any restaurant we've eaten in. Our server was knowledgeable and vey attentive. The service manager even came by and welcomed us and checked to see how we were doing. The food was utterly fantastic. I had the special which was a flame-seared ribeye with house cream potatoes and grilled asparagus. Everything was fantastic. My wife and I will definitely eat at The Hamilton again."

"I've been to the Hamilton on several occasions and I always enjoy myself. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the minor mishaps with the service. On one occasion the waitress was adamant about not substituting a side, we had her confirm with the chef and received our substitution. On another occasion the waiter ran our credit cards incorrectly and almost ended up with triple the tip. These little nuances don't take away from the delicious food or the timeliness of receiving our food even with large parties. The service is pretty decent, I wouldn't say the servers/hosts go above and beyond, but they do a nice job."

"We decided to check out the Hamilton's Gospel Brunch last Sunday as a last minute way to meet up with an old friend. It was terrific! The food was bountiful and quite good. It's not the BEST food I've had but that's not the point of this brunch (it was still very good) - the focus was on the entertainment. Amazing blues/gospel/jazz music."

"The Hamilton is relatively new. I have been here twice -once for the Hamilton live and once for dinner and drinks as a small group for a birthday. Each time was fantastic and did not disappoint. The food is delicious and the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and provided us with menu favorites and recommendations. The bars are lively. The hamilton live seated venue is very nice. Thery have many tables and servers to check on you throught the show. sound was great. This is a very large place and seems to be getting more and more popular. It is entergetic and has a fun atmosphere for a variety of different age groups."

"This is the second time I've been to the Hamilton in a relatively short period of time. I was meeting someone who hadn't been there before and he was awed as most people are. He got fish tacos and I got a turkey sandwich. The food was fine but the service was a little slow, however it was lunchtime and the place was full. My only complaint is a waiter serving another table tripped or dropped his order or whatever and splattered ketchup on the floor, on the back of my leg and on the pants leg of my lunch date. It wasn't much and the waiter was really sorry, gave us a bunch of napkins (warm and damp, nice) but the manager didn't come say anything to us nor did they reduce our bill or offer us free dessert or something."

"This place was sooo good. Our waiter made excellent reservations. When I go out with my husband, we usually order two different entrees and nibble off each other's plates. Our waiter made the extra effort to have the food split up for us before he brought it to the table. We thought that was a nice touch. Save room for dessert because they are amazing!! We were really surprised that the meals were a great value for the level of service and quality of food. This is our new favorite date-night place."
