Ray’s Grill, brought to Fulshear by Fort Bend businessman Raed "Ray" Salti, opened its doors on May 6, 2008. Ray's concept was to create a unique neighborhood bar and grill, that serves recipes created from the highest quality of seasonal and organic inspired ingredients from local farmers and ranchers.
The kitchen is open to the dining experience, emphasizing the direct connection from Chef Soren's "field to table" menu featuring ever changing creations dictated by seasonal availability of organic fruits and vegetables, certified natural meats and daily fresh seafood.

"Not a good experience. The on-line menu is different than actual menu. The service was terrible. The food was fair. The restaurant needs better ventilation (it was warm and stuffy). The prices are definitely high considering the poor service and fair food.
We had pheasant pot pie and a duck dish. Planned to try “Our Shepherd’s Pie” made with Antelope, and Wild Boar Scaloppini, shown on website, but neither on menu. My daughter wanted the Salmon special, per specials menu handed to us by greeter, it wasn't available.
.5 hour after being seated, we flagged a waiter. He said, “Since no one else wants you, I will be your waiter”. Only checked on us if we flagged him down. Only able to get water refilled once. Beignets were terrible."

"Our waiter was horrible. It took 30 minutes to get a bottle of wine; actually, we received our salads/soups before our wine. The Rib-eye he recommended was tough and the filet mignon our friend ordered was not prepared the way she asked. We waited for our waiter to come by but never did, so we stopped another waiter and told him about the steak. He sent it back and within 5 minutes had another filet (properly prepared) served. Our waiter was totally absent at our table."

"One word: kids. Lots of 'em. Love the brunch but did not anticipate 400+ reservations for Mothers Day. To say it was crowded is an understatement: a discouragingly long line for the omelet bar, room overly warm and very noisy with chatter. Coffee was not included in the brunch - $3 a cup while Mimosas were .99 cents....no wonder everyone was drinking them! Ray's used to be a quiet out of the way gem but word has definitely gotten out. The food was great - particularly love the smoked salmon - and we have never had a bad meal at Ray's. From now on we'll avoid major holidays."

"We've been to Ray's a few times and it's always been great! We've had April the last 2 as our server and she has a great spirit about her. "The overall experience is only rated fair because without any prior notice or warning, when the bill came it was noted that they charge more for use of a credit card (discount for cash, which is equivalent to charging more to use a credit card).

"We celebrated my husband's 44th birthday dinner there with a group of 10 adults and 4 children. Wasn't able to reserve a table for that many people through Open Table so I called in at 11:00 AM to make sure that they could handle our party. When we got there they had set the table for 12 (I had requested 14-16) and two teenage children had to remain standing for about half an hour before they were able to add another table and two chairs. The service over all was very slow, we had to wait over an hour to even order. The Wednesday special is $19 surf-n-turf. Most people in our party ordered the special or the chicken fried steak. The food was great and the ambiance too, my only complaint would be the slow but very friendly service."

"We live in Katy and used to go to Karl till they close. So we needed to find another restaurant, and found Ray's here. Sunday dinner menu is only limited to few steaks and baked potato. The steak was well cooked and the hunter sauce was tasty. The waiter was really nice. We also got a bottle of wine. They corked it for us to bring home the left over wine.

"My parents were visiting from California and my wife and I thought Ray's would be a treat for them on their first night visiting Katy. We've always appreciated the fresh, quality ingredients that make up the unique menu items, as well as the service and atmosphere. I had no idea that the menu would be such a limited sampling of what we've experienced on the weekends (and that is posted on the website). They all settled for the petite filet and lobster tail special, that really wasn't that special. I had a ribeye that looked great, but was more fatty than a typical ribeye. I suppose I was dissapointed because I wanted a special meal for my visitors and if I would have only driven a couple of miles East instead, I would have surely found one."

"Love the Thursday night jazz, but it does tend to get a little bit too loud. Food was OK, but service was terrible. I like going to Ray's - but the service is consistently not very good and the reason I go is for the jazz or the food. Need to better train waitstaff if you're going to have $30+ items on the menu."

"For brunch had the very best Eggs Benedict I have ever had.
Service was excellent despite the restaurant being crowded, empty plates cleared away quickly,. and glasses filled equally so.

"We were pleased with our impromptu choice to treat our foursome to Ray's. The menu is very good. We selected 3 differing entrees, 2 of which were deemed very good. The pork chop was said "to be the best" and the venison was lost to overpowering black peppercorn. We had to call attention for drink service, replacing dropped utensils, a dessert menu and all the while our take away portions were promptly prepared. We felt rushed, as if they were closing. Our reservation was 8:00 & we were out by 9:45! We would have liked after dinner drinks and lingering conversation, but we weren't comfortable enough to stay. The seating was not filled and ample servers were present for this intimate & quaint location. We will TRY once again."

"After many visits, this one was a nightmare.
It started with watered down Manhattans, we had requested premium bourbon, but due to the fact that there was very little left in the bottle the bar person messed up big time. Undrinkable, we requested a top off from the bottle but were instead given a hottle which again was watered down. We did not finish these drinks and Ray the owner came over and apologised. We switched to a bottle of wine that no one could fool with. We had ordered 4 appetizers but only one arrived so 3 of our party had to wait a further 15 minutes for theirs. We heard that the staff had tabbed our party as problem guests and the servivce went downhill from there

"Went at 7 pm on a Sat. night, we had a reservation and were seated right away, however our table was in the bar area and not the main dining room. This proved to be a little annoying later on because the wines are all stored on the wall behind where people sit, so twice we had waiters reaching over our heads to grab bottles of wine. The food was excellent and our waitress was friendly, but she was definitely being stretched thin with too many tables to take care of, and she neglected ours several times. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal, but other tables were complaining about it. Overall, we had a very nice dining experience and enjoyed the food tremendously. With just a few tweaks this place could be outstanding."

"The service was excellent and I would recommend Marc our server in particular. He kept the glasses full and the plates were cleared from the table in a timely manner.

"Ray's Grill was great! They use a lot of local produce, meats, and organic items which I really appreciated. The Arnold Spiked Shrimp were delicious, so was the cherry-kale salad. I had the filet mignon, it was amazing! But the butternut squash puree that came with it was pretty bland. And the pumpkin cheesecake for dessert was good, but didn't blow me away. I also tried some of my husband's Simonton Wagyu beef burger and it was so good! I'll definitely be coming back just so I can order one for myself!"
