"Every thing was great, until we went to the rest room just befor going, but 2 of 3 WC were broken and we were 6 persons, so we were waitting right out of the rest room, next to the bar the restaurant has in the basement, and the man of the door tell us in a very rude way to go out of there, we told them we were waiting to use the rest room, that we were customers, but he called a security man to follow us. Why do you treat customers in that way?"

"My friend and I shared the Ribeye and it was more than enough with an extra side of grilled asparagus. We were so full we could not even have desert.
The noise level is always staggering in NYC restaurants so don't plan on conversation unless you are sitting next to the person as opposed to across from them. Acme is no exception. At one point I texted my friend to ask if she liked the food as it was impossible to talk without yelling."

"The food is worth the trip but bring ear plugs, it's simply MUCH too loud. I mentioned something to the hostess who said they may be adding noise reduction buffers to the ceiling one day. Might go back but only then"

"Four members of our cooking club decided to try ACME restaurant and four members will not go there again. It's poorly presented overpriced food, trying for a following of patrons who can't find sea urchin or smelts elsewhere in Manhattan. Were you looking for that and beet brulee, I wasn't? Between us we tried seven dishes. Skip the chicken and eggs begging for a sauce or broth. My Bouillabaisse served in a puddle of brown tasteless slop had a toast slice spread with Black Garlic, and a seared scallop. How did that get seared cooked in a fish stew and isn't black garlic Asian flavoring? The bread was excellent, I bet it came from Tomcat."

"The food was more admirable than satisfying. Very fresh but somehow lacking. Maybe the preparation just wasn't my taste. Warm kale salad was nice, crunchy and nutty. Arctic char was barely grilled to a salmon sushi like creamy texture. I liked it but felt the cabbage and buttermilk not the best pairing. Desserts were for me the weakest course. Beet creme brulee was beet in color only and dark and white chocolate cacao was... I don't know what it was! A gloppy mess.

"Our dinner was outstanding (Rib Eye for two was delectable-to die for with the spots of bone marrow and the pickled vegetables) and the service one of the best experiences I have had in years dining in NYC! Our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable about all wines and even poured special wine by the glass to pair with our dinner. This was a special occasion dinner and will never be forgotten! Super attentive and friendly staff from the minute we arrived and had a drink at the bar early through to exquisite food planned for a perfectly small menu that was unusual yet comforting."

"We were exceedingly disappointed in our selection with Acme. The two appetizers we had ( bison carpacio with raw shrimp, raw sea scallops with radish slices)were absolutely flavorless. We were told it was for a 'clean palette'; I believe I'll stick with seasonings and sauces if that's the case! We took our check after the apps and went elsewhere. Yuck!"

"Incredible food with creative Nordic twists that hit the mark every time, great service and you can't beat the atmosphere if you're looking to have fun while fine dining. The menu is broken into 4 segments. Raw, Cooked, Soil and Sea/Land. This makes it great for sharing and for sampling a lot of the menu. My advice - HAVE AT IT! We had the raw foie gras & langoustine app, the New England scallops with buttermilk & shad roe, and finished with Rib Eye for Two with pickled vegetables, white anchovies and marrow. The wine list has well priced selections, allowing you to easily try 2-3 bottles. Lastly, we were allowed to finish our last bottle downstairs after the meal - it's an equally impressive lounge and great segue into a night out!"

"We had a nice Easter brunch at Acme. We had bubbling Malvasia and excellent fresh made juices in glasses, and pork belly, kale and eggs Benedict on ryebread on plates. Service was friendly and ran smoothly. The final touch for the brunch was given by a very special beer and bread pudding with salt caramel ice cream. Dreamy!"

"Wow what a wonderful surprise. The menu is limited and my first impression was this is a place for the chic to meet and look good but the food will be just OK. I was sooooo wrong. The food was fantastic, imaginative, and somewhat healthy. The chef took new trendy veggies and turned them into dishes as tastey as a bag of potato chips. Don't miss the kale salad or the wheat grass desert. These dishes were two wonderful treats to my taste buds :)"

"we had a fantastic experience. the service was spectacular. i'm a chef myself and the whole experience was top notch. i had my 4.5 month old son with us (he didn't make a peep) and the host offered to check out stroller and get us what ever we needed without us having to ask. the beet creme brulee and bread pudding were to die for and all the eggs were perfectly cooked (both scrambled and poached)

"Acme is the point at which something is at it's best, always. This is our third time, and in one of those visits, Acme was truly at the top of its game. The dishes sang, the service impeccable, the wine selection exquisite, and the ambiance perfection. This time? The service was still the best, but the food seemed a step off. Was this because it's never as good as the first time you taste something special? Or, is it hit or miss? One out of three (.333) is good in baseball, but for a NY restaurant? Average."

"Went here on a Friday night with family from out of town. The menu left something to be desired in terms of interpretability. We just weren't sure how much food we were ordering. My boyfriend had the vegetarian cauliflower main and it was just that, half a grilled cauliflower on a plate. I had the arctic char and it was good but a tiny portion on a huge leaf of cabbage with a very pungent horseradish creme. My dish was mainly cabbage and horseradish which, for $27 seemed paltry. My cousin had the bass which was well-cooked but onion heavy and again tiny. Her husband had the bouliabaisse which was missing a spoon. Our app of famer's eggs with mushroom foam was delicious but we all left hungry feeling like we had overpaid for very little food"

"The food was fine, slightly better than "fair," but the prices detract from the food. Two individual eggshells, filled halfway with an umami foam of egg white, aged cheese, mushroom flavor and some finely-chopped chives are a ridiculous $10. Half of a head of cauliflower, so avant-garde in its simplicity, is so uncut that it still retains a bit of soil and cauliflower leaf, is doused in butter and cheese and scorched to a tasty crisp in the broiler, but is an equally ridiculous $15. The seating is also extremely crowded, as this is a 'sceney' place-- one that has yet to prove itself worthy of its prices."

"My husband and I visited Acme recently and we had a great meal. I know that Acme got a lot of hype when it first re-opened with the new Scandinavian chef but we weren't exactly sure what to expect when walked in. I have to say that I loved the atmosphere - bistro-esque, but slightly quicky, with nicely dressed waitstaff. The food was quite good as well. I have had better meals at restaurants in NYC, but the food at Acme was all perfectly prepared and quite tasty. I highly recommend the arctic char and the beer and bread porridge dessert."

"This place is beautifully appointed, but it's extremely pompous, from the staff to the menu. There were some highlights, like the farmers eggs, but when I wanted to order them for my main dish, I was informed that they were too light and would not do for a main dish, despite the fact that I was not too hungry. My impression was that the waiter wanted to orchestrate how we ate our meal, which was not what I was looking for in a dining out experience. Regarding the food itself, it does not have a "subtle touch" of Nordic influence; the influence is far more heavy-handed than billed. I would also avoid dessert here."
