"Big mistake to book here for Mother's Day dinner. Except for the food, the experience was not good. To start with the Valet service was not operating and after 35 minutes of looking, I finally found a parking place 2 blocks away. The table that we (3) had was close to the door and placed so close to the next table that it was a squeeze for anyone to get by the table. Our server was extremely slow in taking our order. Once the order was in, our salad arrived almost immediately. Not so good with the entree -- that arrived 40 minutes after the salad was taken away. No contact with the server during this delay. Bottom line, the food was outstanding as usual, but the delay and poor service made the event not up to standard."

"As always, Capellini's was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent as was the service. Just had to wait a little long for our waiter to order desert, and wish there was a chocolate mousse item; otherwise, A+++++. The employees there are always friendly and helpful - a warm experience."

"I had the gnocchi with meat sauce. It had a tasty, savory sauce with nice depth and the potato dough gnocchis were light and delicious. Gnocchi can be a somewhat bland dish in the wrong hands but the sauce had plenty of flavor."

"Incredibly disappointing. I hadn't been to the restaurant in a few years and it'll probably be a few more years before I'd ever go back. They did not honor my reservation (they gave away good tables to walk-ins before they'd set them aside for people who had actually bothered to make reservations). The main courses came out almost cold and even the water glasses would not be kept filled. With all the new competition in the neighborhood, I was surprised they weren't trying harder. I had an old friend with me who was in town for only a few days. I regret that I picked Capellini's for dinner on that Saturday night..."

"this time we sat at the chef-bar area, it wasn't quite as nice as the last time, when we had a white tablecloth type space. I asked in my "special request" portion when making the res. that we not be seated in a small table for 2 that are lined up against the front window, very close to other diners, yet the woman seating us seemed not to have read my request at all, because she offered us just such a table, my husband wanted to be more "where the action was" watching the chefs, so it was OK, next time, I guess I have to call and speak to someone directly about which table I want. Their carpaccio is wonderful."

"I have never had an issue with the food at Capellini's and have been coming here since they opened back in the late 80's. I had the roasted chicken, and it was very tasty--just the right amount of spices, and very tender. The issue I DO have is always with the service. We were one of about 4 tables for an early seating, and it took about 20 minutes for the waiter to get to our table to get to us, and he had a very indifferent attitude. I think the Management at this restaurant has had on-going issues with the help, and for that reason, it has never been one of my favorites. I wish it were."

"The service was incredible. I went with my fiancé and we were constantly taken care of. The staff was very friendly and caring. The environment was great and had a feel to it. The food was good but not great, it hadd simple flavors to it but wasn't the most flavorful. For spending $70 on a meal with my fiancé I expected a bit more, but it was worth finishing. The spectacular customer service will be the factor to keep us going back!"

"This could be a stellar dining experience in a vintage space, warm decor, nice service and good energy but on a recent visit the food just did not measure up. The very expensive Caesar salad was tiny and was basically just a chopped salad with too much dressing. Spaghetti and meatballs had an almost flavorless marinara sauce and the grilled farmed salmon on saffron couscous was over-cooked, missing any saffron flavor and once again flavorless, not to mention over-priced. To bad, this used to be a favorite."

"Capellini has been a favorite of mine for years now. I always have an excellent meal and the service is great!! It is wonderful to have a place that you can go to that you know will always leave you happy. You must try the risotto balls, carpaccio, special pizza with caramelized onions, the new chopped salad with baby shrimp... and, of course, I never go without getting the fired calamari with creamy dipping sauce - simply the best fried calamari one can find!!"

"It was nice going to a restaurant on Valentine's Day that didn't try to cram more tables than usual in the aisles. It was full but not shoulder-to-shoulder packed, which made conversation easy to have. The place was nicely decorated in red and white balloons, service was great, and the food (as usual) was delicious!! Valet service was a must as parking is always challenging there. Overall, a wonderful dining experience!!"

"Delicious dinner, great, friendly service, beautiful restaurant. My dining companion and I enjoyed a casual dinner mid week. He enjoyed the butternut sage ravioli and I enjoyed the rossa e verde ravioli. Divine pillows of deliciousness! The server was attentive and knowledgeable, the hostess friendly and accommodating. I only wish we had had room for dessert. Perhaps another night."

"Very mediocre food. The Vitello Milanese did not resemble this dish in Italy. The rice in the porcini risotto was overcooked, and the mushroom flavors were masked by an overabundance of herbs."
