"We've been there several times and will go back. The "Grade Pending" is a concern. The food is very good and it's a nice room,. but the service was unfocused, uninformed and painfully slow.. One dish slowed down the whole meal and the waiter should have told us that when we ordered it. We asked about changing sides and portions and the waiter didn't know. We ordered a flank steak and it came covered in cheese and something but we weren't told that ahead. Everyone tried, the staff was very friendly and the food is recommended."

"Celebrated a family event at Tommy's for 25 people. Food was amazing. Tommy -- who is charming and gracious -- was flexible and welcoming. Have been back for dinner several times. Home made pastas, desserts, great antipasto and apps. Service is great, nice wine selection. Great to support a local business that is obviously a labor of love."

"Dinner at Tommy Lasagna was a great experience. My friend and I shared the rice balls appetizer and it was perfect. Crispy on the outside, cheesy on the inside, and came with an amazing tomato sauce dip. For entrees, I picked the Mezzaluna pasta and it was incredible!! The handmade pasta was delicate and filled with different types of cheeses. My friend went for the Lasagna Tasting and tried Tommy Lasagna, the Truffle Lasagna, and the Nonna. Each was amazing, but of course, the Truffle was the best. So rich! Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and I would recommend it."

"This place is to die for!!! I have never had Italian food they way Tommy Lasagna served it! From the moment you walk in you are greeted with warm smiles and you don't ever feel like they are rushing you to look through the menu. In fact, they will recommend you what most customers have enjoyed. The food is perfection! We tried the Truffle Lasagna and Shrimp with spinach, and boy I wish I had a bigger appetite because I really wanted to order more and try their amazing dishes! It will just mean, I will have to come back! Glad I came to this place"

"I can see why there are positive reviews for this restaurant. Reasonable prices, beautiful space, great food, and even better service. All the pastas were delicious and home-made. Even for those that didn't want carbs, good selections of seafood and meats were available (my dorade was tasty). "The lasagna is the best in NYC! It's a reasonably-priced menu, so I've been back several times and have tried almost all of the lasagnas. My favorite is the truffle, but a full portion can be too rich. I recommend getting it in the tasting with the spicy sausage and Tommy. The tasting is also a perfect portion size. I've started to try other entrees as well and haven't been disappointed yet.
The overall experience is what you look for in a neighborhood gem: relaxed atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable servers, and great specials and events. 1/2 price wine night is my favorite - great selection of good wine (no passing off subpar wine here), a generous charcuterie and cheese platter, and tasty lasagna. What else could you ask for?"

"My boyfriend and I went to Tommy Lasagna because 1,000 points from Open Table were being offered and we had plans to attend a movie nearby. We arrived 20 minutes before our reservation and only waited a few seconds for our table to be cleared so we could be seated. I ordered Nonna's Lasagna, which was excellent and he had the red snapper. (We were actually expecting a larger portion of the red snapper for that price, but he said it was delicious anyway.) There were several birthday celebrations going on that evening, so we joined with the crowd singing happy birthday to numerous guests of honor...lol. We will definitely be returning because there were several other items on the menu we were interested in trying."

the food was not up to par, especially their "homemade" mozzarella. We know real mozzi and this was not it.

"Enjoyed our meal here very much. Food was just delicious! Would have liked to see more than 4 items in the bread basket -- and no cookies -- since we had "milk and cookies" for dessert. Disappointed that the sampler of 3 lasagnas was only available at dinner and not at lunch/brunch -- not sure that I understand the point of that decision. Service was very good. Also do not understand why they only serve whole milk with the "milk and cookies" dessert. I'm happy to unreservedly recommend it; I do plan to return!"
