Gabriel's features elegant Northern Italian fine dining in the quaint town of Sedalia. Our restaurant is housed in the Victorian Manhart home which was built at the turn of the 1900's and converted into Gabriel's in 1985. Matthew and Jan, owners, have been serving the greater Denver area for over 20 years now. Gabriel's specializes in four-course dining so you won't just get an entree. Your evening will begin with an appetizer, followed by soup and salad, then the entree of your choice which is served with pasta or potato rosette and fresh vegetables. Our pricing ranges from $22 to $49 for all four courses. The extensive wine list offers a huge variety to compliment any dinner. We are conveniently located between Denver and Colorado Springs, just 20 minutes from the Tech Center and 30 from Denver. "We had been wanting to try Gabriel's during a 5280 night and finally reserved in advance. We had a wonderful dinner: great selection, terrific food and attentive service. "I purchased a donated certificate from Gabriel's at the High Hopes Tribute (benefiting the Children's Diabetes Foundation)dinner. We had not visited Gabriel's for 15 years--just really forgot about it, but their generosity in the donation and wonderful food/ambiance will bring us back again and again. We support actively the businesses who support the Children's Diabetes Foundation with donations, etc."

"We have loved this restaurant and their Northern Italian food for over 25 years from their early days in Berthud Falls, then Georgetown, and now, closer to home in Sedalia. Matthew and Jan are warm, welcoming owners and the staff is so loyal that most of them stay there for 10 years or more! Excellent, well priced food in a lovely old mansion, plus the friendly, knowledgeable people who work there - what is not to like?? We will continue to go there alone and with friends."

"Although my reservations was during the 5280 week when they were serving a limited menu I was unaware of that until we arrived. The unfortunate thing is that I made our reservation three weeks out. There wasnt anything on the limited menu that I would of preferred to eat as I am a rather picky eater. But they were still willing to cook me somehting off the full menu. The atmospher, food, and staff were excellent. We will definitely be bacl there"

"This was our first visit to Gabriel's and we were very impressed. The service and food were fantastic and it makes us want to go back and try some more of the menu.suggest their favorites. We were there for the 5280. The waitresses were well informed on the food being provided and were able to It was very romantic feeling and the noise level was such that you didn't have to raise your voice to hear each other. The only con we had was we weren't seated at out reservation time. We ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes for our table."

"We loved the individual dining areas, it made it feel really cozy. We were able to enjoy a few drinks at happy hour before our meals. Our servers really did a great job and accomodated my food allergies. The bison and lobster dishes were fantasic, as was the filet mignon. We went with a large group where only one couple had been there before and everyone was very happy and mentioned wanting to go back again. Thanks Gabriels!"

"Unfortunately, our meals were not served hot. Literally, they were tepid at best.
A fast food item, prepared an hour or so in advance, would be served warmer. That's not an exaggeration.
Had ours been served as it should have been, I certainly would have rated our dining experience as outstanding. Service was truly exceptional, ambiance too, but due to that issue I felt that I had to down rate the service. I was that disappointed.
Now one might say ... just send it back. I say nonsense! One should never have to do so, let alone at a restaurant who's reputation is well above the norm.
Why it is that upper tier restaurants consider their menus, service and ambiance important, but not serving a meal in a timely manner ... it's a myster"

"Went here with spouse and some friends; atmosphere was intimate and quaint as this restuarant is located within a historic home in the small town of Sedalia, Co. We went during "5280" restaurant week this year - the food was not quite as impressive as I remember it being on trips here previously. This could be perhaps because of the specific 5280 menu or just that my dish this night was not all that spetacular as I had come to expect here. The service was excellent, although we were disappointed the 5280 menu did not include any desert selection. There were parties there with larger groups but I think this restaurant's atmosphere really is suited best for couples. Not as good as I remembered previously but still an enjoyable evening."

"Absolutely fabulous dining experience. The wine list would satisfy any taste and priced from very reasonable to outrageous. Gabriels is situated in a large two story old house with many rooms decorated in turn of the century charm. The food was excellent and very well prepared. We wanted to lick our plates!!! "Dining at Gabriel's is always a treat!
The 5280 menu offered several choices. We enjoyed the Shrimp and Lobster Cake, Filet Mignon, Lobster and Shrimp Gorgonzola, Grilled Bison Ribeye. They were all delicious. Our waiter was very personable and professional.

"The food was an experience. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every morsel of food. It is nice going to a restuarant and having a truly wonderful feeling about having something you really can't get anywhere else. Since we have lived in CO for 12 years from NYC, we could never find a restuarant that was REALLY worth our time to enjoy. I thank Gabriel's for the experience."

"Gabriels is nestled in the sleepy little town of Sedalia about halfway between Highland's Ranch and Castle Rock off Santa Fe. It is located in a charming old home with a beautiful wrap around porch, perfect for summer dining. The food is delicious, we had filet mignon and shrimp and lobster in gorgonzola. The wine menu was extensive at both ends of the economic spectrum. We had a wonderful dining experience with a group of nine friends. I would recommend Gabriels to everyone."

"Well prepared food served as a four course dinner. Appetizer, soup and salad are set selections, no choice. We enjoyed all but would have been inappropriate for anyone with seafood issues. Service was well paced,if rather mechanical. Our waiter show absolutely no personality or warmth. We ordered lemon zest cheesecake for dessert - definitely no lemon in this cheesecake. I can understand running out of a listed dessert but don't try to pass it off as something it isn't.

This was our first visit to Gabriels. We always heard it was had reputation for consistantly high quality and exceptional service. Perhaps I expected too much; while it was good I can name a dozen restaurants in the area that exceed this food, service and ambiance."

"Four of dined at Gabriel's restaurant early in the evening. Upon completing our meal we all had the same thought, "Why bother going to downtown Denver for a really fine dining experience?" The service was very attentive. The lobster & shrimp cake appetizer was so flavorful. Three of our party tend to eat too fast. This appetizer put us into slow mode in order to savor every mouthful. The soup was a chef creation. It was a marinara sauce & cream with spinach. Again, savor, savor, savor. The mixed greens were fresh and crisp with a wonderful tomato basil vinaigrette. All of our entrees were the best. We had filet mignon w/truffle compound butter (2) , bison ribeye topped wild cherry brandy demi-glace, lobster & shrimp w/veloute sauce."

"It was 5280 week and so the dining rooms were full and that made it fairly noisy. Wait staff was on top of everything and the food for the most part was great. The risotto was very sticky and not well made. I would have given up the soup or the salad for some desert. Might think of that for next year's 5280! We all enjoyed out dinner!"

"Until yesterday evening, one of our consistent favorites! We had requested a quiet table, away from the kitchen. I believe they did their best to accomodate, but as it was Tuesday of Restaurant Week, two other parties (one of 8) were seated in the same room, making it extremely difficult to hear not only the server, but my companion. We experienced what seemed to be a downgraded menu (cold bread; umimpressive soup; simple field green salad, with a dressing more suitable for butter lettuce) but good entrees. Thomas is an excellent server. Wine served apropos. Would have stayed for coffee and dessert but for the noise level. Will definitely return, though NOT during 5240!"

"Wow! This is the second time I've dined at Gabriel's. Hands down my favorite restaurant in the entire Denver area. It was a perfect dinner on our 1st anniversary and again with friends for the 5280 week. Everybody was blown away by the location nestled up to the foothills and the close proximity to Denver. I have to say, the soup you make is WORLD Class! I would visit again for the brandy old fashion and soup alone. However, every single bite was to die for on my plate. THANK YOU for such an amazing dining experience without the hustle of the Denver crowd - A very relaxing and fullfilling experience."

"We had two servers waiting on us that night, one of which was very nice. The other couldn't have been bothered with us. She wasn't very friendly and acted annoyed if we asked her for anything. I had the 5280 Lobster and Shrimp special, both of which were extremely chewy. My fiance had the rib-eye that was decent, but overall tasted like a banquet hall meal. Inside the restaurant, it smelled of body odor - not appealing at all. I don't believe we will be returning to this restaurant any time soon."

"We dined at Gabriel's for the first time on Sat, Feb 20th, as part of the 5280 Dining promotion. The food was good and the wait staff very attentive. However, we found the ambiance lacking as we were seated in a large room adjacent to the bar. My husband sat directly behind two tables of eight, I sat behind a table of six, with additional tables of fours and twos around us. The noise throughout the entire dinner was extremely loud, plus I had a view of the bar TV from my seat. We had read that this restaurant offered romantic dining, but our experience was far from it."

Having said that, they mixed up 2 filets we ordered - I got the rare instead of the medium and my friend got the other. Think that needs to be corrected, pretty basic faux pas.
Sides with entrees need a little work - Risotto was very good; Mashed potatoes need to be chucked."

"I loved the warm and inviting atmosphere. When we first entered the host took our name and suggested we check our coat. We were then taken to our seats which were in a corner with a window view of the lovely winter scene outside. The server arrived immediately to greet us and tell us the special. The menu and wine list were filled with something for everyone. Two of us had the lobster/shrimp gargonzola, one had the vegetarian lasagne and one the beef medallions. We couldn't decide which was best. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a romantic and intimate evening and will certainly look forward to my next visit"

"This was an amazing evening. The food was outstanding and cooked perfectly. The restaurant was as beautiful as ever and the wait staff were very friendly, attentive and efficient. "It was our first time there. Food was good, the Cafe Gabriel for dessert was outstanding. We liked the ambience and the restaurant. Some booths along the walls (not necessarily high-backs) would add a little more privacy and romance to it and make it just a little bit more quaint. The staff and service was outstanding.

"Very enjoyable Valentine's Day late-night dinner. It's been many years since my last visit, and I was surprised to find few (if any) real Italian pasta dishes on the menu! Plenty of great steaks and other offerings, and the overall experience was memorable. Perfect for those special occasions. "Very nice meal and romantic setting. Trains do run by during the meal so you have to ignore that. When we first arrived there was only couples at the tables and it was nice and quiet. A group of people celebrating came in and the volume increased but not anything beyond normal I suppose. Food was very good though a miss on the salad in my opinion. I would definitely consider coming back and therefore recommend it."

"We went to Gabrielle's to find a restaurant for our wedding reception and from the first appetizer we were sold and the food only got better. The Filet Minot with shrimp was wonderful as were the beef tips with lobster but the extra chicken dish we ordered was wonderful. "I love Gabriel's. It is still as lovely as when it opened some 25 years ago I believe. However, my friend and I are small women and found the menu a little limited in fruits and veggies. Lots of meat which we don't eat and NO VEGETABLES AT ALL. Much heavy creams and fats - which is what made it SOOOOOO GOOD. But occasionally is enough for me.
The staff very friendly and our wait gal was right on. Thank you for a nice birthday celebration."

"My Wife and I went for our 30th wedding anniversary. We had eaten at Gabriel's for our 29th also. Nice, almost private room, upstairs with Alan our waiter. Alan was terrific and everything else was yummy. Two drinks each, tax ,tip came to $144.00. Very romantic and much glee was had that night. My Wife had the lamb and it was wonderful. I had chicken and scampi and was very pleased. Gabriel's is a five star restaurant right out I85 in Sedalia."

"This was our second time at Gabriel's. The first time we sat on the main floor and just loved it. Service was provided by two waitresses and was prompt and fantastic. This time we sat upstairs where the ambiance is not as good--it's more like just a country cafe. Also the male waiter was officious and service was very very slow. What we told the waitress was not conveyed to the waiter and vice versa. Although the food was good, it was not fantastic. My halibut was dry and overcooked. My husband's meal was luke warm. This was our 25th wedding anniversary and I'm sorry to say we were a bit disappointed."

"The meal was delicious, as usual. We very rarely have a less than satisfying experience at Gabriels. Our favorites, the filet with scampi and chicken saltumbuca, were melt-in-your mouth succulent. Our oldest ordered the bison ribeye with cherry glaze (a relatively new addition to the menu), which was fabulous. The meals have gone up in price a bit, but are still a good value considering they include appetizer, soup, salad and entree. I love their cafe Gabriel as an after-dinner drink, and their wines were lovely. For dessert we devoured a yummy strawberry and chocolate cake and a dish of fresh strawberries with cream/liquor. Service is always great, though the bus person seemed a bit harried tonight."
