Situated in the heart of Maryland’s horse country ‘The Tavern’, as many of our local patrons refer to us as, is a favorite gathering place for friends and families to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, superior service and meals that are flavorful from beginning to end. The traditional American inspired kitchen is rooted at a local level to highlight our area growers and purveyors ensuring the freshest produce, meat, fish and chicken are of the highest standard.
"Food and service need to come up a notch. 45 minutes for entrée to be served. Out of beer can chicken. Decide if you really want to capitalize on farm to table concept as restaurant is in perfect location for that."

"Haven't been to Manor Tavern for years. Our return was a positive one. Good food and great service from a first time waitress. Visit from a manager was welcome. All made for an enjoyable dinner."

"We hadn't visited the Manor Tavern for about three years, no complaints in past dining but nothing memorable. We decided to give it another try and both felt that it would be worth coming back -- especially to try one of the specials they have during the week.
The staff was friendly and attentive, the diners were a mix of young and older couples as well as families with children. The menu had a nice mix of dishes, not too far in any one direction. It appeared to have an emphasis of fresh vegetables and some unique flavorings. The main entrée gumbo was good -- not overpowering, but not as flavorful as I am used to in Southern cities. My wife chose one of the burgers and was equally satisfied. A nice evening out with local flavor."

"Manor Tavern is nestled in the horse country near Jacksonville, Phoenix, and Fallston. Our family has been enjoying the high level of quality food and sprits for years. The new ownership has stepped up the service and menu and is very attentive to every detail of our patronage. Highly recommend for meetings, and family outings, Romantic dinners, and awesome Sunday brunch."

"We hadn't been to the Manor Tavern for years. However, we heard it was under new management and decided to give it a try once again. In checking the menu on line, it appeared that they had a varied selection with several vegetarian offerings, which is important since my wife is a vegan. The pricing seemed a bit on the high side, but not out of the realm of reasonable if the food was to be of good quality. Unfortunately, that was simply not the case. The portions were rather meager (especially my wife's veg dinner) and the general consensus among our party was that the food was lacking in flavor. Additionally, we found the service to be minimally adequate. Overall, it was a very ordinary dining experience considering how expensive it was."

"I still can't believe how bad this restaurant was. We ordered an appetizer which was delivered after our entrees along with the dinner roles. I had to catch a bus boy to get a second glass of wine - we hadn't seen our waitress for at least 10 minutes. The stew that costs 36 dollars was more like a simple soup with a bit of seafood in it.
My wife and I won't be going back here ever! Too bad because it is local - but not worth the frustration."

"Our family recently had dinner at the Manor Tavern, to celebrate my son's 22nd Birthday. I had heard from friends that the restaurant had undergone many changes over the past few years so, I wanted to give it a try. All members of our party had a very enjoyable experience. The service, food prepration and presentation was excellent. The kale chips were enjoyed by all. The salad was filled with fresh delicious greens. All of our entrees, beef, fish and shellfish were delicious, including the sides. We were seated in a quiet side room, which was great for me. I wear hearing aids and many times I cannot hear table conversation because of too much background noise. Following my friends' recommendations, I too will recommend the Manor Tavern."

"Enjoyed our meal with friends from out of town. We like to bring our family and friends that come to visit us in Maryland to places that really show off the food and atmosphere of Maryland. The Manor Tavern is truly one of those places. Thank you for the great food and service."

"Mother’s Day dinner & seated w/reservation. Busy so 10 mins before waitress came to get drinks. Told us how tired she was bc it was long day w/“600 ppl @ brunch.” After drinks she never came back for our order. After 30 mins, had to go find her. Took order & soups/apps were VERY good. All meals & sides were delicious. Waitress never checked how food was & after hour, had to find her again. Ordered dessert & came quickly except for my husband’s. Finished dessert (his never came), had to go find her to cancel it (she forgot). She brought him dessert w/check but after finding her 3x & dinner 2+ hrs, damage was done. Food=amazing but embarrassing service in front of my mom on mother’s day. Manager was doing table visits, but never came to us."

"The beet salad appetizer was delightful. The veggie pappadelle was heavy on the pasta and light on the veggies. The fish with fish chips entree was way salty. The grilled romaine was served with inedible hearts which should have been removed but the salad itself was delicious. The server was eager to please and yet lacking in 1) asking us about our wine choices, didn't seem up to speed on wines offered; 2) had to be asked for cheese for the pasta; 3) needed to be more confident about the menu. Finally, this menu has been in place for quite some time. We were initially seated in the bar area and had to request another seating which request was not handled with graciousness."

"Since it was opened under new management I was a little hesitant about what to expect with the quality of the food. The setting itself is beautiful in horse country surrounded by rolling fields. It has the feel of an old country inn. The food was outstanding. We had a variety, from specialty salads to shrimp salad to the special of the day and everything was very good. Would go back in a minute."

"Our dinner had mixed reviews. The Sunday night special, meatloaf, was not appealing. It was a monstrous serving of meatloaf wrapped in layers of bacon atop a mound of mashed potatoes. The mussels were enjoyed by all at our table. The crab cakes were very mediocre, little taste and dry. The short ribs were a hit. Our waitress provided the best service, even bringing out a piece of cake with candles as we were celebrating my son's birthday. She really enhanced an otherwise mediocre dinner. Not sure we'll return."

"Tries to be more than what it is and tries too hard at it. Items like kale chips shouldn't even be there. Plus they aren't chips at all. Just a mess of dried kale with some oil and seasoning on it. Horrible. The "plump" oysters as described in the appetizer section were a joke. But the bacon was good. I'll go back but I'll just have the bar food."

"The Manor Tavern is a special place for us. We took friends, visiting from Florida. We enjoyed a quiet and relaxed visit complemented by friendly and outstanding service topped off by an excellent lunch. As we lingered over dessert and conversation, our server was attentive and unobtrusive. We have always been pleased with our visits there."

"The Manor Tavern is close to home, but that's not the primary reason we choose to dine there. We enjoy the Manor Tavern because the menu offers a variety of delicious fare and the Sangria is always delicious! While they offer a good selection of bottled beers, they do not offer anything on tap. Outside of that, it's a nice place to enjoy a delicious meal, with knowledgeable and friendly service."

"Had brunch on a Saturday morning, the service was excellent as was the food. We shared the cornbread which is made fresh and it was wonderful. They have a wide selection of breakfast and lunch choices on the brunch menu. Real wood burning fireplace is nice on a cold morning."

"Had a perfectly lovely time and meal; the hostess and server were wonderful! We were celebrating a retirement and the server surprised the guest of honor with a cupcake that the kitchen(?) had plated with a congratulatory message in rasberry sauce. What a nice gesture to their guests.
We we seated right by the fireplace and were very comfortable on the rainy, damp and dreary day. We all had a great time and absolutely will come back and of course recommend the restaurant to others."

"We ordered the oyster appetizer and it was more sauce than oysters. The last time we ordered this appetizer the oysters were large. This time they were either very small or chopped up. Would not get again. We are also told the bouillibaise special which was $36.00 was a large portion and more than enough to take home for lunch the next day. The portion was very small. Not a good buy for the price."

"We were actually early for our 7:30 reservation, and they very graciously seated us. Menu was limited for holiday, but varied w/ plenty of choices. Appetizers were a little skimpy - scallops/shrimp; fritter assortment. 2 in our party just had soup and appetizer as their meal. Soups (tomatoe parm and vicy blend) were excellent. Lamb chops very good. Crab cakes were bland.
Service left a little to be desired. Don't know if the kitchen was to blame. Although food/courses were timely delivered. Special requests were ignored - lemon for water was requested 3 times, glass of wine ordered for meal never delivered. Restaurant did not appear overly crowded."
