"I have not been to Cafe Italia since they moved to Parkville from North Oak. The food was great. I got the Pasta Diavolo and my wife got Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken. Both of the dishes were very good and also leftovers warmed up very well. The ambiance was a bit unique, as we were dressed a little nicer, while the couple next to us were in t-shirt and sweatpants. Overall, the food is definitely worth going for and we will going there again."

"I remember eating here back when it was located at Metro North Mall. I think that the food is just as good as I remember and the atmosphere was very romatic for couples. The waitress was excellent and was very attentive and polite. I loved the menu design. The wine was also very good. It is a little high in price from what we usually pay in some food establishments, but it is well priced for those special occasions."

"We have loved Cafe Italia for years when it was off North Oak. We were more than excited to hear it was reopened in Parkville. Their menu is incredible, and their tiramisu is second to none. It's an incredible place to go to for birthdays or anniversaries."

"Our table was not ready on time for our 700pm reservation, but they did reserve the type of table we requested. The drinks are pricey. We used our groupon and found the staff was misinformed about the wine availability that came with it, so the manager/owner was more than willing to accommodate. This made our night :)

"The best Italian entree I've had since visiting Naples and the best gelato since Rome! Holy cannoli the homemade raspberry! Well worth a visit again and again. Try to get a view in the back right of the dining area for a beautiful view of main street and Park University! Guaranteed to set the mood for any romantic rendezvous! Here that Hank!"

"This is my 5th visit to Cafe Italia in the past 6 months (just about once a month!) and generally, the experience is outstanding. However, this visit was disappointing from the service aspect. The food is always very good - never a complaint about that! While I would like to think our waiter was new, I think in reality he was just disorganized and struggled with multi-tasking. I consider it an isolated incident and not an overall reflection on the restaurant as a whole. There's always bound to be a problem. But, you cannot go wrong with this place for their food! Love their handmade pastas - wonderful selection and always delicious!"

"The food was great, and the service left nothing to be desired! Our server took care of us from the time we came in until we left. She even provided a short history of the restaurant prior to taking our order. We went to eat here on a Groupon, and I'm glad we did. The dining, service and ambience was outstanding."

"We dined here on Valentine's Day. We used to frequent the prior location before they closed and decided to give the place a try. The food was just okay. I had veal parm and the veal was very tough. My husband's chicken alfredo was odd, the chicken had a salmon flavor to it. Needless to say I don't think we will be returning."

"We are so glad that Cafe Italia is back and better than ever. We were heartbroken when it closed on North Oak several years ago. Finding that Guy and Paul have started anew is the best thing that has happen to Parkville in a long time. Their food is absolutely some of the best Italian food in Kansas City. Their veal dishes will melt in your mouth and the pastas are old Italian. We will be going back to Cafe Italia whenever possible but they made this Valentine's Day a rememberance we won't forget."

"With my Opentable reservation I had a 30 minute wait, luckily the food was worth it. The braised veal shank (ossobuco) over risotto special was superb. My Shrimp Scampi w/ fettuccine alfredo and was fair but, potion size seemed small compared to the other entrees I saw. Side soup (that day was beef filet and veg), caesar salad, and bread were satisfactory. Service - other than being seated - was fine. The server Allison was quick for drink refills and told us a short history of the restaurant while we were waiting. The food arrived in good time and we were offered another bread loaf to nibble on while we waited after we devoured the first.
$60 before tip for no alcohol, 2 entrees, and no apps felt high but the special was 5 star."

"The food was pretty good here. The bread was fresh and the pasta was fresh. I opted for the chicken cara mia and I found the alfredo sauce a little heavy (and yes I expect alfredo to be rich but still). The salad was very good, the dessert (chocolate hazelnut gelato) was excellent. The service was outstanding. Our server was great."

"This was our 2nd visit, not as good experience as our first, but it was much busier too. The portions were so generous, however the meatballs were about half the usual size, which was a huge disappointment for my husband. I think everyone should try this place, but go on Sunday-Thursday for the best experience."

"My husband and I split a seafood pasta. We had eaten at the restaurant many times but several years earlier and this was our usual order. This time the dish was all pasta and no seafood. We counted no more than 12 teeny tiny portions of seafood throughout the pasta. At nearly $25, this was a real disappointment to our stomachs and wallet."

"Service was not good. Our waitress did recommend a good bottle of wine, which she brought, but one of our party wanted a beer and she never brought it. To be fair, a manager finally brought him one and even a second one on the house. Then our salads came with the wrong dressing and the waitress only complained that she was rushed because she had to make the salads herself (also the excuse for not bringing the beer). Our food was good, except for one of our party didn't care for hers. She chose not to complain however, and said she was okay because she was very much looking forward to some tiramisu for dessert. Unfortunately, at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night, they were out. There were other things but I'm out of space to write more."

"Cafe Italia it ok. That is about it. Portions are huge, apps were good, deserts were so-so. Would I rec to a friend? I don't know. There are better italian places that you can go to in the area. However, it's so hard not to support a local Parkville place. I know it's hard to survive in downtown Parkville. Would I go back? Probably. It was a nice experience overall. I like to support local businesses and always want to see them succeed. My advice to Cafe Italia? It still needs updated. There are a lot of simple things that could be done to improve the ambiance. Remove that strange side kitchen under the hood vents that remain from the Japanese steakhouse. It was too heavily lit and was distracting."

"The food was very good. Service was good. We had a party of five and one of us has Celiac Disease. She was able to have an excellent pasta dish that complied with her diet. It was our Grandson's 25th birthday and he really enjoyed himself. The owners gave us a lot of personal attention that we appreciated."

"You cannot go wrong with Cafe Italia! All of their pastas are fresh and homemade daily. None of that dried pasta! The service is always outstanding. The location is situated in a quaint area of downtown Parkville with a nice view of downtown and situated right next to the train track. Don't worry - when the train goes by it does not rattle the building or the tables! It's actually fun to watch them go by. The prices are very reasonable for what you get, and more often than not you'll be taking home a to-go box with leftovers! For the traditional pasta lover, try the Pasta con Sugo; if you like a little spice, the Pollo Diavolo is fantastic. Go for the house salad dressing and enjoy the fresh bread dipped in olive oil and cheese."
