"I love the old school house and the decerations make interesting topics of conversation. But the food is outstanding. I try something diefferent each time and i'm never disapponted. The red pepper sauce on the salmon was fantastic, my husband even added some to his pasta dish. He loved the 3 different types of pork in his pasta. Wonderful deserts and they even help with your wine selections. Great place ******"

"We have dined at the Renaissance previously....so sure wanted to try some of the new menu items. We had the pork tratoria and the braised beef tips and polenta. Both were excellent with the polenta triangles fried up and they contained parmesen which gave them a real kick and were complimentary to the tender beef tips. The pork was a nice thick chop wrapped with bacon and grilled then served with a grainy mustard and horseradish sauce. It was great. Two great additions to the menu with a couple more new ones to try another time. The liver & onions was ordered by one in our party and was pronounced very, very good. An unusual item to have on an upscale restaurant menu....but presented with class and great taste."

"I have always had a fantastic meal when I go here. I have a cousin and her husband that comes from Wyoming to visit. I took them the last time they were here and they were blown away. This was a return visit , at their request, to the renaissance Café and the dining experience was exemplary. They still talk about the food. I go here when I want something special and I always recommend it to my friends."

"this was our second visit...the first time i thought it was awesome!!! Not so much this time. Each time i had the steak porcini...this time the steak reminded me of a ribeye from golden corral...a 8 dollar piece of grissle about a half inch thick...difinately not a 22 dollar steak. "We have been enjoying this restaurant for seven years and have never been disappointed. The food is consistently wonderful the menu diverse and the service friendly and efficient. My very favorite menu item is the Steak Venato. It's the best steak dish in Kansas. It's a very special, unique restaurant located in a tiny town inside of an old school gymnasium! Seating is above the gym floor in a cozy, warm atmosphere. There's nothing else like it anywhere!"

"The small, unassuming community of Assaria, KS, affords a surprisingly delightful dining experience available at the Renaissance Cafe. From its quaint setting in a re-purposed school building to the quite varied menu selections and excellent wine choices, our group of four were wonderfully satisfied. The menu has an Italian tilt but not in the usual way. One of their best sellers is Liver and Onions! One highlight for me was the small serving of palette cleansing Lemon-Basil sorbet offered between the salad and main courses.Yumm!The wait staff was exceptional as well. Knowledgeable, thoughtful and unhurried...we were able to enjoy each course as well as plenty of time for conversation. A real find..."

"One of the few really good restaurants in the Wichita area. The menu is inspired and well executed. I shared the gnocchi and spicy sausage dish and the pork and olives dish. I would order both again though the pork was a bit dry and tough. My only other complaints are small. The bread they serve is clearly microwaved and dry. It falls apart in a bad way. I have heard they serve good soups but did not try one as they called their soup garden vegetable which does not make me want to order it. The soup seemed rather boring compared to the rest of their menu. All of that said, this place is well worth the drive and I will be back next time I am in the Wichita area."

"The food is consistently fresh and good. We like to go for their specials, which have never disappointed. We often share a half order of pasta around the table to complement our entree. The creamy potatoes are wonderful and if you get the chance to try the walnut vinaigrette on your salad, I highly recommend it! The prices are a little high for our area and the service can be interesting but it's a fun, unique and delicious place to dine."

"My husband and I love to go to the Renaissance Cafe. We generally go there for special occasions, and love to bring out of town guests there. They are usually very impressed with the food and the atmosphere. Liver and onions is my husband's favorite, although he ordered steak this last time and thought it was wonderful. I always order salmon, have not always liked the many changes it has gone through, but it is still my favorite."

"The food was awesome as always. The back corner table is not always the most entertaining or accessible, especially when having an early reservation. We were relieved the large, loud group opposite the gym left before our meal began.

"Two things that would improve the experience: 1) a bar selection--doesn't even need to be a full bar and 2) something other than green bean/wax bean combo on the plate. Other than that, we love the place and will keep going back. I am always anxious to see what the specials will be and confident it will be prepared with a gourmand's taste buds in mind. If I were to select a place to eat out every week, the Renaissance would be the place."

"Me and my wife had the best dining experience of our lives. From the moment we walked in everything felt perfect. Our waitress "Adrian" was second to none and even carried on nice conversation with us when she had the time. Me and my wife Renee have never met a stranger and enjoy talking with new friends. The table was already set up when we got there, the food showed up quick, the food was hot when it got to our table, and the flavor was the best we've had. Thank You so much for the perfect dining experience. Me and my wife don't get nights like this very often having kids. We call it date night and you folks were the highlight of our night. Keep up the good work. See ya soon!!!!!"
