"Loved the food and service. The Veal Marsala was cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. Our experience here was exceptional--we especially enjoyed the attentive, but not overbearing, service. The noise level was high, but not too bad--were were able to carry on a conversation on our table.
This may very well become our go-to Italian restaurant in LA."

"My wife and I had never been there before. I found it by searching on google earth. Very good food. It was very busy and a little loud but that's okay because the customers were enjoying themselves. Dinner and a couple drinks with tip was $130.00. We would go there again when in Santa Monica."

"Hats off to the chef here; the fare is consistently divine!! Ambiance is very romantic but fun at the same time. Service is some of the best I have had in LA. The only draw back is that the noise level tends to get pretty high during peak dinner hours; my date and I found ourselves having to shout back and forth to one another."

"We love to return to La Vecchia Cucina because of the food, but this time it was my son's birthday and they went out of their way to make it special for him."

"Went here on recommendation of a business acquaintance. I do not live in the area but needed to meet out of town business associates for dinner. Overall, a very nice meal. Salad was the highlight, crisp, fresh, generously portioned mixed greens, dressed well without drowning. My main course pasta (linguine alla puttanesca) was good, admittedly a pedestrian standard fare dish that is not likely to stand out. It was certainly well done, and I would not hesitate to have it or return here again. Great vibrant Santa Monica neighborhood location."

"I made a reservation for 6:30 and was lucky to get the small table in the window for 2. The food was excellent as always and service equally so. It was a Monday so tye noise level was not too high and we could hear each other talk. Will come back soon. Thank you."

"We felt like we were in New York City: great Italian food, busy, crowded and noisey. Definitely a destination. Specialty drinks were interesting and well made; corkage fee of $15 was a deal (brought our own special bottle)and the appetizers and entrees (fish, chicken, risotto, and pasta w/ truffles) were perfection. The only thing that was just "ok" were the desserts. Not bad, but nothing special. Would have been 5 stars except for the desserts... Will go back again."

"There were four in our party; my wife and I (our first visit) and a couple who recommended La Vecchia Cucina as one of their favorite restaurants in the LA area. Saturday night. Parking was easy - $6 a half a block to the north. It was busy, but they honored our Open Table reservation without delay.
It’s a relatively small place, and the tables are small (which somewhat accounts for the higher than expected noise level). At times it becomes a bit of a balancing act to safely work a wine glass and the menu at the same time. Our chairs and the ones behind us were just about touching. And as one in our party lamented, they have no Vodka of Finnish origin.
The cocktails were good. We brought a bottle of wine ($15 corkage). The foo"

"We had lunch at La Vecchia Cucina on Valentine's Day. Pasta was great....the salad left a bit to be desired, perhaps just an off day. Service was friendly and low key. Overall, this is a good option for a bite while shopping on Main Street."

"The service was the most outstanding part of our experience at la vecchia. The food was also very good. We had a wonderful appetizer, pizza and dessert. The heart shaped pasta dish was not as good as we had hoped but not bad. Panna cotta was delicious. We love this place."

"Food was excellent and kitchen accommodated our special requests. Only distraction was a busboy who thrust his arm in front of us every time he needed to place or clear items on the table. We liked our waiter but he forgot to place our appetizer order."

"we were promptly seated for our reservation during a very busy Saturday night. The service was great, the food was also great. We had the meat and cheeses appetizer, excellent cold cuts and cheeses. Cheese with truffles was a dynamite. My husband had the Ossobuco, the meat was so tender, it just fell off the bones. The flavor of the sauce was very flavorful. I had the lobster pasta, it was not as flavorful as the Ossobuco, but it was also very good. Definitely will come back. The only hiccup of the dinner was that due to a mishap in the kitchen, the food came out really late. However, the waitress made it up to us by comping us dessert."

"The food was excellent. We went for dine LA and the menu they offered had variety and some of their best entrees. All around us were very happy with their meals. The tables are very close and it was crowded and noisy...that would be my only complaint. Otherwise, the service, wine, staff and food were just great!"

"I loved La Vecchia Cucina overall. It was a busy evening, probably on account of DineLA, but the staff were very friendly, and our party of 5 girlfriends didn't wait too long for our table. All of the food was delicious, but I HIGHLY recommend the mussels and clams. They were amazing. The lamb bolognese was also very tasty. I would definitely love to come back here again."

"I came here during Dine LA with a friend, and we had a great time. The Dine LA menu was excellent -- I really felt the food was worth much more than the price we paid. I had to ask to change our table from the original table by the door to another one in the back because I felt cold because of the draft from the door. The waitress helped us promptly without a fuss. I also really liked that the floor is carpeted, which is great for noise reduction. We went for lunch and there were several parties with small children, so it must be kid-friendly, too. Luckily, there were no shriekers among the kids. All in all, a very satisfying lunch."

"The best Italian restaurant in Santa Monica! Our party of four was greeted cordially, immediately given an excellent table away from the bar and served quickly and politely. The food was outstanding; the fish, chicken and pasta dishes we ordered were truly delicious. Be sure to reserve in advance and come early; it gets very busy and deservedly so."
