"Very clean and beautiful restaurant. The staff were very attentive and helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. The food was terrific, this place was recommended by a friend who had attended winterlicious. We noticed Chef Lee checking in on the dining room and even took a photo with some patrons. Definitely a person who cares about the way the place is run front and back. The ambiance was nice, we were comfortable as a couple and noticed some groups of 6 and 8 having a good time as well."

"I took my wife here to celebrate a new job promotion. Not only was the food out if this world but the ambiance was just what I was looking for. The wait staff was extremely knowledgable and all helped as the night progressed. Each staff member was also very polite throughout the evening and made us feel right at home. I would absolutely recommend Lee to anyone as it is worth every penny!"

"This is the best food I've had in Toronto. Unique dishes with ingredients I would never think of putting together but amazing taste! I've told so many folks at work about this restaurant now. I work a few blocks away but just found out about it recently and after the first time, I'm now a fan!"

"I have dined several times at Susur Lee's sister restaurant in DC (Zentan) & was expecting the same quality & expertise at his Toronto restaurant. Unfortunately that was not the case. Although I am very well-traveled w innumerable dining experiences, I found Lee's restaurant to not be worth the cost in what you receive (in service, food, & ambiance). One of our waiters was very impersonal & abrasive-became almost aggressive when I requested to keep the menu after ordering. We never had one dedicated waiter, yet none of them were very familiar with the ingredients (ie food allergies). The food itself was pathetic, flavorless, did not seem like the chef put any care into preparation or presentation, and not worth the price point at all."

"The service model is strange at Lee. While every server was very knowledgeable, we had no less than 8 different servers, with no one identified as our main waiter or waitress. No opportunity to develop a rapport or trust with a server (which is bad for tips and for customers). And worse (much worse) one of the random servers came by our table AFTER we had made our order and begun our meal, to try to upsell another dish from their sister restaurant. Not cool. We also overheard a server explaining to a customer that the servers had recently had a competition to see who could sell the most expensive bottle of wine. Again, I'm sure this kind of thing goes on all the time, but we ended up feeling like suckers rather than valued customers."

"Great food, and best cup of coffee I've had in a long time. Three dishes, two desserts, no mightn't-it-have-been-better-ifs. Friendly, well-informed, helpful staff kept us very comfortable. Happy to notice a young mom quite at home with her infant under a feeding blanket (ask me about my grandchildren!). If I wanted to go looking for a demerit, I could point out the strange low-backed plush bench/chair I sat on was a bit rough on an older back. Not enough to keep me away."

"Lee is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto. This particular evening we were seated in the Lounge area, for the first time. The experience was very good overall, however I found the service not as exceptional as usual. Our server was professional, but very stiff. As well, the "supervision"of food runners was too obvious; perhaps they were being trained. The food was very good, but again, there was something missing. For example, the slaw salad was overdressed. Lee is still one of my favourites, and a go-to restaurant for me and my husband."

"We do not rave about a lot of restaurants but this one is worth another visit! We enjoyed the slow braised beef, lamb dish and the slaw! No surprise, we are coming for back seconds and thirds. "We had been to Susur's a long time ago (more than 15 years ago) so it's been a long time since we made it back! This was an absolutely fabulous evening. "I make it a point to visit as many celebrity chefs as I can when I travel, and this was an absolute high point of my culinary experiences. I do consider myself a foodie but am absolutely drawn to simple, amazing food....so this was the perfect marriage! It was well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive from buffalo to Toronto! The best service I can remember ever having! Beyond spectacular, I can't rave enough"

"Overall rating was very good solely due to the food quality. Service was Poor - I have had better service at chain restaurants like Canyon Creek. Service lacked in the friendliness department and we did not feel like we had "warm, welcome to my home" type service. The dishes came out too quickly and at one point we had three dishes at our table. This made us feel quite rushed, which is never fun. Makes for cold dishes. We will think long and hard before returning. Food quality was great, but service lacked significantly."

"We had 4 dishes to start and they were outstanding, one of them being their Singapore Sla, a must. We weren't having dessert so we ended up ordering one more dish (cheeseburger spring rolls) and we were completely full. We spent about 2.5 hours there which to us is ideal for a "romantic" dinner with one bottle of wine and pre-dinner and post dinner drinks. Food came out in a timely fashion, and our server was attentive and friendly. The menu isn't overwhelming, is made for sharing, and the prices are reasonable for an upscale restaurant, so it's not necessarily for everyone if on a budget. I think I dreamed about the Black Cod that night because it was so good... Love that place."

"On my first visit with a party of 5 our server was excellent. We selected the chef's tasting option with wine pairing for each course. Our server brilliantly suggested that he let the bartender concoct non-alcoholic bev pairing for the 16 year old in our party..it was a great night with beautiful tasty treats and well selected pairings."

"Celebrated my birthday here with my husband. We had heard it was one of the best restaurants in Toronto, and I am pleased to say it lived up to the hype. The hot and sour soup was delicious and complex - fried sliced shallots added a delightful texture and gave a decidedly upscale feel to this normally mundane dish.
Closed off the meal with a dessert that was to die for - French and Chinese Tong Yuen. The warm rice dumplings were filled with gooey rich chocolate.
For drinks we had the Burnt Orange Manhattan and the Lee Lemonade to start, and a reasonably priced bottle of sake with the meal."

"While the food was so spectacular that we would have wanted to lick our plates, our plates were taken from us on a regular basis before we finished chewing our last bite. The service was truly atrocious, the waiter obnoxious and condescending and it felt as though the entire wait staff was on a mission to get us out in 30 or less, even though the restaurant was far from fully booked. Big disappointment."
