"This has become our go-to place for special occasions. This time, it was just two of us and we were in no hurry. We had our requested server - Karen - who has a great knack for moving the meal along at our pace. The filet, which we shared, was perfectly prepared. We also shared a salad, which was divided tableside and served with different dressings on the side. We brought our own wine, which was decanted as requested. All in all, a very relaxing and enjoyable evening."

"Overall, we had a nice dinner. The food was good and the view was excellent. I have dined at this location a few times, and must admit that the service was not as attentive as I remember on previous visits. My steak was not cooked as ordered and it took some time before he server checked back with our table to inquire if everything was prepared properly. The issue was resolved very quickly and to my complete satisfaction. Everyone has an "off" night. We will definitely return."

"We celebrated my son's graduation from high school by taking him to Ruth's Chris to have a steak he would remember. From the time we arrived till when we left 2.5 hours later the staff at the SouthBank location in Jacksonville treated us with great care and made it a memorable evening.

"Like always a beautiful evening especially sitting outside for a drink before going in to a dinner. The only thing we found different and changed is the sweet potato casserole go back to the original receipt it used to be like a dessert during dinner the last 2 visits it is dried out and slightly burnt.Absolutely the only criticism of a wonderful night. "My wife and I dined for our 20th Anniversary and the dinner was absolutely top notch! Views of downtown Jacksonville were perfect and the service/food couldn't have been better. Our waiter Richard really paid attention to detail and the anniversary surprise dessert at the end was fantastic! We will definately be back for another special occasion."

"This dinner was a graduation gift to me from my son and we had looked forward to it for months. It was everything we expected and more! The food was wonderful, the view of the river was beautiful, and the whole experience was made even better by our fantastic server, Richard! He made our entire evening fun with his friendly personality and his willingness to go above and beyond. He was very attentive and had great suggestions for our meal. The whole experience was worth the wait and I will definitely go again!"

"I made this reservation based on the fact. I have always had a great dinner and outstanding treatment at this. Ruth's. Chris. Sat evening they were simply off thier game. Food was excellent. Richard gave great service which is the norm for this. Ruth's. what. I found not acceptable was being seated at 8:40pm. For an. 8. O'clock reservation. The manager was confrontational after we declined our 1st table in the service path. He appeared to be bothered when I pointed that this was noted as an anniversary Really not acceptable treatment We arrived by boat and honestly had we come by car we would have walked out and gone to Matthews Fortunately we waited and the experience was salvaged"

"We really enjoyed our experience. We braved a nice restaurant with two little girls (4 and 7) and I expected some reservation from the wait staff. Everyone was completely professional and did not seem the least bit bothered that we had our children with us. I will say that my girls were very well behaved and are already begging to go back! My husband and I enjoyed a nice relaxing, delicious meal as well! Great service and great food!"

"Unfortunately we were seated next a loud and boisterous table. This now marks multiple times at Ruth's that we have experienced a lack of decorum at Ruth's. I can think of three other visits in other cities at a Ruth's where this issue has come up. In my opinion the dining experience should not be overwhelmed by the table next to you. I am finding a trend more at Ruth's than any other upscale steakhouse chains. We are all out to enjoy the evening. Want to be loud, go to a bar."

"We went for a belated Valentine's dinner and really enjoyed ourselves. Food was great. Service was a little over-attentive at times but it was no trouble really. It certainly was a busy night and was a little noisier than the last time we were there. I think other people had the same idea that we did to wait for the weekend before celebrated Valentine's Day. "The petite filet was out of this world!!! Always is!!! Loved the stuffed mushroom and the baby spinach. The waitress surprised us with birthday cakes too...very thoughtful!!! Had a great time and we especially love this downtown jax location."

"This was our 2nd time dining at this location. We enjoy dining while seated at a bar over a dining room table. Scott, our bartender remembered us from the time before and was very friendly. We both had the Texas ribeye with mashed potatoes and the newer mushroom blend. It was probably the best steak that I've had to date! I wanted to pick up the bone and gnaw it off but my manners overrode that decision. Also, we had the cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious as always.
We've decided to make the trip back (we live an hour away) at least once a month in the future. Looking forward to next month!"

"My friends and I decided to have dinner for our girlfriend who is going for a new job. The food is ALWAYS fantastic and the service is excellent. I had filet mignon and shellfish trio which was comprised of a 5 oz. lobster tail, several big shrimps and a scallop. I had the chocolate explosion for desert. Wow! Great restaurant."

"The new craft cocktails are out of this world. The steaks are fantastic. Best crab cakes in town. Service was impeccable. Ruth's Chris helps define what a steakhouse should be. They sell both the sizzle and the steak. Literally. We had a great time and it was just a regular old Sunday. Good thing it wasn't Saturday because they never would have had an available reservation on a Saturday."

"I've been to Ruth's Chris before in different locations, and was least impressed here. The view overlooking the river is nice. The service was fine, and our waiter provided good information about my wine choice.
But this is a steakhouse and the foremost priority has to be well-made food. I ordered the osso bucco ravioli as an appetizer and the lamb chops as an entree. Each of them tasted like they had been bathed in salt. One of the chops was nearly inedible. My colleague seated with me said that I must have gotten the salt that should have been added to his dish, which he described as "bland."
I'll try Ruth's Chris again back home in NJ, not here. Next time I'm in town, I'll go to the mall to get a good steak with a lesser vie"
