The Iacomini Family first opened their doors in 1932, The heart & soul has been "Papa Joe" Iacomini who passed away in 1998. Those who have gazed into his steel blue eyes, or have watched him tour his restaurants, always searching for ways to improve, know why the Iacomini Family has always been considered the first family of fine & traditional dining in the Akron area.
Joe's legacy lives on with the fourth generation of restaurateurs. Judy, his daughter, & her son Jeff, & daughter Kim, continue to try & live up to his standards of excellence. This trio of new culinarians continues to bring you "The Best of Iacomini's"!

"Certainly, one of the hallmarks of a great establishment is being able to offer consistently personalized service that makes people feel welcome and comfortable. This was again the case recently while dining in an atmosphere that continues to set the highest benchmarks for a complete and pleasurable experience. We were seated immediately and provided with an accommodation that was requested in advance. From there, it was simply superb service, food, and quality. Our server, Scott, couldn't have been more kind, courteous and helpful. Thanks, Papa Joe's, for a lovely evening."

"I went here to celebrate a friend's retirement. It was wonderful! The wine was excellent;as well as, the food! We were stuffed! The service was outstanding as well! I would highly recommend Papa Joe's and it will not be the last time I eat here!"

"Day in and day out this place consistently has excellent food, great service, all in a very nice setting. We love going there when we are back in Akron visiting relatives. It's great to have a place where you can have a nice conversation without having to speak up so others can hear you! The chicken livers are fabulous. The cippino was great. All the Italian dishes are excellent. Great and friendly service."

"We had a retirees luncheon there. We meet every other month all year long. We have been to many places over the past 3 years. I enjoyed the ease of making the reservation and the reminder. The menu had many choices and price ranges. There was no problem with single billing. We would very much recommend Papa Joe's to others and will most likely be back. The server and staff were very friendly."

"The old standards always please! Can't beat their pasta and meat sauce. The monthly specials are creative. The spinach fettuccini with fresh clams and sausage was especially popular. If you arrive before 6:00 PM, you can take advantage of reduced prices on drinks and some appetizers in the lounge."

"I love Papa Joe's and have been dining there for several years. I ususally love the gnocchi but it was a bit on the salty side this time. I guess in a way this is a good thing since it means that it is homemade and sometimes things turn out better than other times when cooking from scratch.

"Been going here for years. Service continues to decline. Had to wait 15 minutes despite having a reservation. Wait without a reservation was the same length so it seems they made no preperations for our reservation. Host was very rude during the wait. Server was slow and had poor knowledge of wine list. Will come back and pick up food from carryout store but unlikely to return to restaurant."

"Honestly, we expected more. The food was decent, though far from exceptional. The accommodations could use some work ... very old, and out-dated. (Felt like we walked into 1970!) We were seated by a window and we could feel the cold air blowing across our table! Had to keep my coat wrapped around me. Probably won't go back. Disappointed."
