The 10th Restaurant is a respectful 'nod' to the soldiers of The 10th Mountain Division, many of whom were the founders of the American skiing industry. The cuisine is world-class, with a focus on Modern Alpine classics.
The 10th is open to the public for lunchtime dining, 7 days a week, and for Apres Ski and Dinner Tuesdays through Saturdays. Open through Vail's ski season! Advance reservations are highly recommended.

"Went there for lunch. Very nice ski lockers that allow you to take off ski boots and put on slippers provided. Nice touch. Lunch menu was not too extensive but you can understand you are on top of a mountain. We shared a lunch size pizza which was excellent. Cesar salad was just ok, kind of tasteless. Then had the Kobe burger and it was good but nothing special for the price."

"Other than waiting a bit past our reservation time to be seated (my lunch mate had a hard time limit to be to work), everything was wonderful. Her pot pie was creamy and flavorful. My elk bolognese was extremely tasty, seasoned perfectly.
The only thing, other than being seated at our reservation time, that could have made our lunch better would have been for it to either have been sunny out or better yet snowing. Either would have made an incredible view even better."

"I have dined at The 10th for lunch during ski days several times and can honestly say every experience has been a pleasure. Everything I have ordered from the menu from soup to appetizers to entrees to desserts have been absolutely fabulous. I would not hesitate ordering anything from this restaurant as I have gained confidence that nothing they make is ever substandard. Although slightly expensive, the quality of the entire experience more than justifies dining at the 10th. It is almost as uplifting as knee deep powder."

"Amazing views-- can't beat that! Snowcat service from top of gondola to restaurant door. Food was tasty, well-executed, with some unexpected yet welcomed bold flavors (such as the mint-cilantro sauce that accompanied the halibut). Service was top notch. Overall, dining experience at the 10th was better than a pricier dinner at the bottom of the mountain we had the following night."

"located on top of the new vista bahn gondola 4 wd can take you from gondola to restaurant if (like me) you are using crutches. Menu is well constructed and varied good use of spices and ingredients We went at 7 pm during Latin American spring break week so the place was packed with Spanish speakers and wild kids (unusual) Servers are young, enthusiastic, and knowledgable Sommelier rec the least expensive of 3 sancerres - great choice. Cocktails were potent - especially at altitude. Fit for a romantic end to a great ski vacation."

"We had the rack of lamb which was spectacular, tender and tasty. Presentation was uninspired. This is the second time I have been to the 10thfor dinner and both times the food has been Lukewarm. Last time I had the halibut and that was very tepid. Baked goods are delicious,
The lobster bisque was really great, lots of flavor and lobster meat. Sampled three desserts, bread pudding ( again it was cold) flourless cake and baked Alaska. Flourless cake and baked Alaska were the better ones.
Overall a nice evening, server and staff were very good. Wine list is excellent and very fairly priced.
The desk staff were veryprofessional and welcoming."

"Loved this place!! we went for lunch once and every day since then while skiing; why eat stale fries and bad overpriced food in crowded mountain restaurants when you can enjoy the best views, best food on the mountain here? It's a bit more expensive but totally worth it. We also went for dinner, the kids loved the gondola ride at night and the food is even better if possible. Hands down the BEST restaurant on the mountain and one of my favorites in Vail"

"Wonderful ambiance and great addition to Vail. Just wish it was a little less costly since it becomes one more restaurant we will have to reserve for special occasions or one visit per trip. $350 is a bit much for a family of four! And, for some of the men to still be hungry because some portions were small is crazy considering the price.Vail could sure use more family friendly restaurants like Blus used to be. We used to frequent that restaurant several times every visit. Don't think we are alone since Little Diner is number one on tripadvisor. Just shows you can have great food and not pay outrageous prices. Vail is becoming less and less family friendly. As part-time residents, really a shame what is happening."

"This restaurant is located at mid-Vail at the top of Gondola One. It is a great on mountain stop for lunch. We dined here 4 times during our 10 days in Vail. The facility is also now open for Apres Ski and Dinner. These options we did not try this time, as they were new this year. Making a reservation in advance a must during peak times between 11.30 and 2.00pm or a long wait can be encountered. A good variety menu with both light and hearty food. A kids menu is also offered."

"We had a very good lunch. It was our first day in Vail so we didn't ski. We had to pay $20 per person to ride the gondola up for a very pricey lunch. It seems the gondola ride could be included if spending a set minimum amount...it's free for dinner..? Other than that everything was very good."

"Big prices, small portions and less than average service. We won't be returning. I took my parents there for their 45th wedding anniversary and the restaurant did nothing to honor or celebrate that. They twice did not bring our drinks that we ordered, brought bread that did not have enough in the basket for the entire table and never refilled our water glasses. I would not waste the money with all the other great options available in Vail."

"Staff seemed less than happy doing their jobs, Our waiter kept reaching in front of our talking guests to pick up a water glass to refill. One piece of fish was cold and had to be sent back; turns out they simply re-warmed the fish and then it was too dry. I thought the cost of food was reasonable and similar to other nice restaurants in Vail, but not the value due to the lax service."

"They have a great gluten-free menu which is very important to me since I have Celiac Disease. Unfortunately, they do not take it seriuosly. When I ordered I reminded the waiter to make sure the order was submitted as gluten-free. He assured me it would be. When my tonmate soup caame it had a huge bread stick in the soup! How can I trust them?"

"Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. This is not cheap dining however, so check out the menu before hand so you are not surprised by the price. This is a great place to have a relaxing lunch on Vail Mountain after skiing. There is an area where you can hang your coats, take off your ski boots (they provide complimentary slippers to wear while dining)."

"Excellent service for our group of 8. The meals were delicious, a very small mix-up with 2 meals was very quickly and professionslly resolved. We were all visiting Vail from Australia, so won't have an opportunity to visit this restaurant again, but I'd have no hesitation in recommending it, and particularly the rib, that I ordered, which was simply divine!"
