"Salmon was excellent. French dip had great flavor, but was very tough. Waitress was a little inexperienced, but was very nice which made up for her lack of experience. The special lunch menu made just for May 11 (graduation) was very limited."

"This was our second visit to McEwens and it is quickly becoming our favorite restaurant in Oxford. Our waitress Meg was wonderful. We had the oyster app, mushroom salad, steak, lamp chops, sea bass and scallops. Everything was perfectly cooked. The vanilla cheesecake was the best I've had and our family has NY roots. I would highly recommend McEwens. They were extremely accommodating with all our reservation juggling as well. Thank you"

"1.) called to make a reservation and were told nothing was available till 9:30 on a the Friday we were coming.
2.) Logged onto Opentable and made a reservation for 7:30 noting SEVERAL options available.
3.)worst. manhattan. ever. Shaken? It came out with an inch of head, seriously, I heard the violent shake from across the busy restaurant.
4.)My girlfriends 15 oz. rib eye consisted of about 12.5 ounces of fat. My dog at least appreciated it.
5.)We watched in horror as we dined about 5 groups turned away at the door as 6 tables sat empty for the hour and a half we were there.
6.)Subpar grocery store winelist."

"This is not the most fancy or well known resturant in Oxford. It is however, a very giood eating establishment. It provides very good food for a moderate price. If you are buying dinner for several college kids, this is a better option than Oxford's more pricy establishments"

"Oxford has many, many wonderful restaurants, but this one is FANTASTIC! If you are looking for a romantic date night, an elegant setting for delicious dinner and conversation that you can actually hear, this is the perfect place to go!
And the food!! Our table had the scallops, crabcakes, beef tenderloin, and Chilean sea bass and every bite was wonderful!"

"It's really out of my price range, but...having said that, if you want a place where you can actually say that the food, the service, and the overall experience can be worth the money, this is it. (And as an ex-cook, the food really is top notch; you'd have to pay much, much more to get better, and even then, it would be a contest.)"

"The special drink menu was a nice added touch. Appetizers were great, as well as the salad and entre. We didn't have dessert (no room!) but everything was great. We have been to McEwen's many times, one of our favorite places. We especially like the fact that the noise level is minimal."

"What a great place to celebrate. The food was amazing. Our service was terrific and the atmosphere is perfect. My husband had the steak which is said was one of the best he had ever had. I had the catfish was was great. My daughter had the salmon was was divine and our friend had the crab cakes were were flakey and perfect. We also enjoyed some of there signature cocktails before dinner which were a delicious. A do not miss dinner in Oxford on the square!"

"Our server was impeccable in his personable attention to us as people as well as customers. He exceeded expectations and let us know that his roommate was the chef. Three of us ordered the chef's special and our server passed along a personal Thank You form the chef to us for making that menu choice. Everyone's meal was superb and the manager, Lee Cauthen, was so very kind and keen on customer service. We will visit again and often."
