"The food was good and you received a good portion. The Rumpus burger had too stong of a char broiled taste. It overwhelmed the taste of the burger. Good atmoshere. I will return."

"Really liked our server! She was extremely helpful and actually wrote down a few 'gems' as far as late night drinks/atmosphere places to visit. She was right on with the addresses as well. The staff wear jeans-Love it!

"We waited for our table and ordered a beer. We waited for service on a second beer over fifteen minutes. Another bartender finally helped us and did acknowledge the long wait.
For dinner I ordered a well done burger that was done med to med rare. When I showed the server she apologized and said " I know this has been a frequent complaint my cool , cooks to the medium side". She never offered to have it cooked. I did not eat my dinner."

"My friend and I tried this restaurant during Downtown Dining, so that may explain the few mishaps. The food was an almost winner, but it was so loud we had to holler at each other from across the small 2-person table. The calamari on my clams was undercooked, but they graciously made me more. The wine and coffee were just okay. The waiter was a bit slow to bring water and to check on our drinks. My main course came, oddly, along with my appetizer. The waiter did offer to take it back and make me a new one and bring it out at the appropriate time. Overall, the best thing on I had was the Kimchi sauce and that alone would call me back!"

"We always dine at the Rumpus Room when we have concert tickets. While they are crowded these nights, the service is always good and the food is delicious. Our last visit was during Milwaukee Downtown Dining Promotion which we considered to be an exceptional value. The noise level is usually high on these visits but the food and convenient location keep us coming back."

"We took my husband out for his birthday. I chose the rumpus room because I thought it would be a nice casual place where we could bring our daughter. While the ambience was nice, the food was great, and the service was excellent, the restaurant was packed, and yet there were no other children there except for our 8 year old daughter (at 6:30 on a Friday night). Although it was extremely loud (perfect for people with kids), I guess they don't cater to families."

"We really like the food here, but the restaurant is just WAY TOO LOUD. Not much to be done about it, but we prefer to sit at the bar on at the tables by the to go area, since it's a bit quieter there. We dined on the first evening of Downtown Dining, as Rumpus Room offered a fantastic menu. The fried chicken is excellent. However, the two downsides to our meal (aside from the overall volume in the dining room) was the smoke that filled the restaurant (something must have gone amiss in the kitchen) as well the fact that they were "out of" half and half for my coffee. Wish our server would have made me aware of this when I ordered the coffee, as I would have skipped it altogether."

"I have dined at Rumpus Room several times - including a recent beer-themed dinner - THAT was spectacular - including the service. Unfortunately my most recent experience with the RR, Saturday, June 1st left me a bit displeased due to the snide attitude of our server. This has never been my experience at the RR ever - perhaps this server was having a bad day - we all have those days, so I will not let this one experience spoil my experience. The food and ambiance always is fantastic at RR! I encourage everyone to give a try."

"We celebrated my spouse's birthday at the Rumbus Room -- the bar was great; excellent list of micro brews. However, the food and service in the restaurant was only fair. We were extremely disappointed with the Wisconsin Chees platter -- basically three slices of cheese slapped on a plate with mixed nutes from a Planters jar -- for $11.95! The meal was nothing spectacular -- we we looking for something that would wow us -- that did not happen! The noise level is so loud we could barely hear our waiter tell us about the soup and no "specials" for a Saturday. Basically, we felt like here are your choices, take it or leave it. The person at the table next to us had a horrible meal -- sent it back and asked for a salad instead."

"Excellent food and even better beer. Best meatloaf I've ever had in my life! Atmosphere is lively. I wouldn't bring a party of more than 6though,it would probably be a bit crowded for comfort. "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner Saturday night. We wanted to have dinner before the ballet performance, but could not get reservations before 6:30. The performance started at 7:30, and we were worried that we wouldn't finish in time for the curtain. The host and hostess and our waiter were helpful in suggesting we sit at one of the high tables in the bar. We were served quickly, the food was great, and the server was very gracious."

"Let me start of by stating that the food and beer selection was very good; and we had excellent service from our waiter.
However, the woman handling reservations--when we arrived--had such a negative attitude, that it pretty much set a new standard for poor customer service. We had 5:45pm reservations for two--and were not seated after 15 minutes--after repeated discussion about a 7:30 start for the ballet, and the fact that there were plenty of open tables for two--we were told that the people at our table were still finishing-up. A waiter actually came over to help--and he was told by Miss Manners that she was working on this and didn't need any help.
We finally sat ourselves at a small table by the bar."

"Was very happy with my recent visit to the Rumpus Room. There was quite the bar menu. It was be fun to go back and try a lot of the beers! We had the Rumpus Board and the selection of meats and cheeses were delicious. It was the perfect starter to the meal. The meal itself was very good. My companion had the fried chicken and I had the veal meatloaf. Both were very good. It was my companion's birthday and they gave us the s'more dessert to help us celebrate. It was not something I would have ordered off the menu but I was pleasantly surprised with it. Will go back and try out more of the beers/liquors as well as some of the other apps on the menu!"

"This restaurant has a good bar, reasonable drink prices, and good burgers & fries.
DON'T ORDER THE HIGHER PRICED ENTREES - YOU'LL BE "RIPPED OFF" !!
The menu said:
"...Halibut Pan seared line-caught Alaskan halibut, beluga lentils, yellow squash, watercress, and basil oil 27.95."
At this price, one would expect a decent sized portion of fish, along with a side of yellow squash and the normal Bartolotta Restaurant experience.
What was served was a very small (less than sandwich sized) portion of halibut. No bread or rolls, and no yellow squash.
The food was good. It just didn't come close to what one would expect from Bartolotta for a $28 menu item."

"We took a chance going there before the show and very glad we did. Food was great and all the wait staff was very helpful. Brought our 11 year old and she had no problem finding something on the menu she would eat."

"They had a small menu. The Grill Roman salad was small for the price. We had the ribeye and enjoyed it. Sitting at the end of the bar gave us a great view of the microwave. When you spend a $150 on a diner with two, I would prefer to atleast think a restruant didn't use them. The bar tenders were dressed very casual, and if they weren't behind the bar you would have never known they worked there. Its a very loud and or acoustically challenged place. My father who wears a hearing aid, would hate this place."

"A nice variety of menu items. I really wanted the drink featured on the home page of the website "The Belvadier" but the bartender did not know what it was and said he never goes on the website. Fried pigs ears were good, something new to try. Waiter only checked on us once, but was really nice. My husband really liked the schnitzel any my quail was very good. We would go back again."

"We came on a quiet Sunday night - The appetizers were very intriguing. We mainly dined on appetizers and soup and salads. Everything was delicious. The craft cocktails were somewhat complex... I wanted something sour and my initial drink didn't suit me and the waitress could tell so she brought me the other one I had mentioned selecting without me asking her. That one was fabulous.

"The food is quite good - my companion had a NY strip steak that was done perfectly mid-rare and was very tender and juicy. M short ribs were dry - not a richly unctioious as they should b. I also needed more sauce on the plate to moisten the meat. My biggest disappointment was agonizingly slow service and that's happened twice now when a crowd comes in to get dinner before an event at the Marcus Center. I excused it the first time because they had barely opened, but after much time I would have expected more help on event nights so people going to concerts can relax and enjoy rheir meal."
